hello hari
exchange btwn 2nd and 8th house damages the 2nd house as 8th is an evil house ..exchanges involving dusthanas (6/8/12) with non-dusthanas will generally damage the non -dusthana houses

astro123, do we need to check any yoga both from ascendant and moon lagna and confirm or any yoga from ascendant is effective for the purpose of prediction? Same for predicting dasha ? native is running the dasha of 10th lord counted from lagna which is malefic and if counted from moon, 10th lord becomes benefic, how will be the results? should it be mixed or malefic?
Generally i think if the same yoga repeats itself form the lagna and the Moon then it becomes powerful and strong and lifts the chart...One also has to judge the stronger of the two - The Moon or the lagna and look at the yogas from there..lordship is almost always considered and counted from the actual Asc...10th lord is considered benefic ruling a quadrant (of course depends on the other house that the planet owns)rehr wrote:astro123, do we need to check any yoga both from ascendant and moon lagna and confirm or any yoga from ascendant is effective for the purpose of prediction? Hi astro123,
I understand your logic. However, I have also read a logic that, in this Parivartana, since either planet is in the other's house, and also aspecting each other/own house thru the 7th house aspect, they would not want to harm one other. Instead these two lords end up supporting each other in an indirect way, hence ultimately both houses are strengthened. If this is correct, I cannot reconcile this with the statement that one house is damaged. How can it be that the same 2nd house is both strengthened as well as damaged?exchange btwn 2nd and 8th house damages the 2nd house as 8th is an evil house ..exchanges involving dusthanas (6/8/12) with non-dusthanas will generally damage the non -dusthana houses
Hello,
For a capricorn ascendant, what is the effect of the parivartana of the 5th and 6th Lords?
Both Mer and Ve have very close shadbala strengths in Rupas (Me being slightly higher) and in % strengths (Ve being higher there). Mo is the strongest planet in the jataka and is in the 3rd house with Ju. Mo is Mercury's nakshatra lord while a reasonably strong Mars is Venus' nakshatra lord. Me is with Ke and Ve is with Sa
Is this exchange to be considered just as the parivartana of 5 & 6th lords or also of the 9 & 10th lords? If not the same, are they in dharma-karmadhipathi yoga?
During the Me dasha will Me behave as the 5th lord or as 6th lord? What about its 9th Lord role? With Sa being in Ge in this case, how will the Me->Sa period be?
What about Ve dasha for the jataka, will Ve produce 5th & 10th results or 6th and 10th results?
What is the impact of looking at this from Chandra Lagna given that Mo is the strongest planet in the Rasi?
Thanks.

I think this can cause problem to your father. I wish he is keeping well and some other aspects of your chart are preventing serious damages.. but this placement in your chart could have harmed him like anything.sunil wrote:Dear Shashi
Thanks for explaining loss to loss so beautifully with clear example. I was thinking anyway that 12th lord is considered malefic for any lagna and its placement in 11th should be good besides being in 12th to iteself. What do you think if th 12th lord is Saturn placed in 11 house in Sagittarius when Saturn is also a lagna lord at the same time?
I have one more query as you clearly explained about 4th lord being in the 3rd house. I have 9th lord Venus in 8th house debiliated. Shri K N Rao says this placement leads to a possibility of native going into adoption, may be in childhood. Are there other posssible astrological interpretations of 9th lord going to 8th house?
regards
Sunil

are you facing any problems that you are wearing these rings? From what you have described, planet placements in your chart seems good. Mer. deb gets neechbhanga as with exalted venus.
Thanks!
Similarly, there is a Mesh Lagna native with 6th lord mercury exlated in 6th house and venus as 7th lord debiliated in 6th house along with lagna lord Mars in 6th house. So, would this do a Neech Bhanga of Venus ?
Any parivartan of a good house (kendra or trine) lord with a dushstana lord is known as Dainya Parivartan. It can cause problems to the native depending on houses involved. Here in this case, 6th house is of enemity, diseases, litigation and 5th is of love, education and children. So the native might face problems related to children / litigation / enemity and or may have education in medicine or lawrvenkats wrote:Hello,

In dashas of even one of the planets involved in parivartan, the other and its lordhsip become very active. So, if 5th and 10th lords are in parivartan, the native can do very well in academics (related to education - 5th house) as career (10th house related to career and karma). But he will have to work hard on both fronts as Karma lord is involved though he will get very good results as it is a rajyog
Respected members
I too have maha parivartana yoga.
Venus( L9 AND L4 in D1) in 11 house and jup( L11 AND L2) IN 4 house.
Right now i am running my venus mahadasha but nothing great has happened in fact i am going through a terrible time right now( mercury subdasha).
venus is in gandanta and though it is L9 still i have faced lack of luck many times.
Jup was retrograde in D1 and neech in D9. Has this co,completely cancelled the yogas?

The 6th chapter of Phaladeepika gives all information needed to understand parivartana yogas. I highly recommend reading this carefully, and under intelligent guidence.
There are three basic types - dainya, kahala and maha parivartana. If the 6th, 8th or 12th lord is involved in the parivartana it is dainya. If the 3rd lord is involved it is kahala. Otherwise it is maha. Dainya parivartanas spoil the result of the houses that is not the dusthana, but through the qualities of the dustana one can regain the topics of the spoiled house. The kahala yoga means that one must attain success in the house that is not the 3rd lord's strictly on the basis of ones effort and willpower. mahayoga enhances the results of both houses.

Dear Vic DiCara,
Can you explain a bit more on "Dainya Parivarthanas". Will the effects of Dainya Parivarthanas always be bad.
What would be the effects of 6th and 8th lords Parivartana.
Regards
Kunal

Dear Kunal,
I can explain to you what i currently know about dainya parivartana yoga.
The key is in understanding the word dainya. It means "humility." Therefore the key to these yogas is humility. These yogas create good results when we approach their topic with humility.
The yoga will always involve a lord of humility (a lord of 6, 8, or 12) and some other lord. The topics of the house occupied by that "some other lord" are the topics which will not bear good fruits unless we approach them with humility.
This is my understanding and I hope it is very helpful to you and to those you might share it with.
You also ask an interesting question about what happens if two dainya houses form this circuit ("parivartan"). Mantreshwar does not seem to address it in the section on Parivartan yoga but we can infer from how he assesses the next group of yogas in chapter 6 of Phaladeepika that he considers when 6, 8 and 12 are under duress the effect is GOOD. Therefore it is reasonable to apply the same principle that a circuit ("parivartan") formed between 6 and 12, or 6 and 8, or 8 and 12 would be a case where good results would come naturally, without the need for conscious effort as in other dainya parivartana yogas. The effects would be, imo, the granting of service to others, humility, deep insight, and other morally and spiritually conducive character traits and practical developments in life.

Hi all,
I have a parivarthana yoga on my Raasi Chart between 7th and 9th postion, for Taurus ascendent,i.e., inbetween Saturn and exalted Mars.I read in one of the books, that a exchange between Mars and Saturn will not yield good results.
Can any one clarify this?
I have one more question, is the exchange between 2 debilated planets give good results?
Thank you

saturn for taurus ascendants is a yog karak and exalted mars in the 9th is also very nice(saturn is never debilitated for taureans)....so effects can never be detrimental...saturn in 7th might delay marriage, i feel....

Phaladeepika - which to my knowledge gives the most thorough treatment describing and defining Parivartana Yoga - does not say anything about the planets causing the yoga affecting the outcome (of course unless it has escaped my attention and study.) It is the houses involved. The circuit ("parivartana") is formed between the houses, not between the planets. That, to me, seems to be Mantreshwar's instruction.Govindaram wrote:Hi all,

So Do u say the houses involved in the exchange are the main concern, then the yoga between 7th and 9th house with exalted Mars in 9th for Taurus, is good formy profession or business?

yes - it should be good for morality, religiousity, doing good to others, being moral in relationships with women, and being able to relate in a positive manner with others. the last point should impact on your ability to have positive business transactions as well... no?
