Milred,
Were you spiritual when you were young? Sometimes, the spiritual inclinations in childhood gets supressed due to worldly responsiblities, also due to an attraction for worldly life, but then, with age that former interest revives.

I dont know what is spirituality Basab. I have blind faith in God and prayers. Dont follow too many rituals.

Milred,
Spirituality is not about following rituals, it is about connecting to God. That's what I meant when I asked you about spirituality.

Aseem,
I agree with you that when a person finds happiness, aplenty, then, he doesn't feel any interest in spirituality, but then, there are people, who get tired of their materialistic life. Sometimes, when you keep getting success all through your life, you get bored of it and want something new, something different, and that is when you take interest in spirituality. That is what I felt about Milred. Maybe I am wrong in my understanding.

Yes, Aseem, I agree with you, the period of vargattoma Venus, which is also in its own nakshatra, will be definitely a very good period for her, even though the combustion by the Sun, which is the 12th lord, may give a little struggle too.
aseem82 wrote:But milredr, don' t worry about your future life. You have 20 years of Vargottam Venus mahadasha waiting for you!!!

Yeah, Milred, I know you are definitely more materialistic than spiritual as because Venus, the planet of materialism, in your chart is exalted, vargattoma and also in own nakshatra.
If we see from a logical perspective, your lacking in peace these days is more a symptom of mid-life crisis, which is also called, I think, middle-age blues, as you are almost in your middle age now. It is very common, and everyone goes through it. Keep yourself busy with some hobby, and you will get over it, soon. Nothing to worry about, at all.

Hi Basab:
Sometimes, when you keep getting success all through your life, you get bored of it and want something new, something different, and that is when you take interest in spirituality.
I dont think you are right. When u say, a person getting continous success gets bored of it and wants something new. But it cannot be so since he cant take failures for example. When he has never seen failures and only seen one side that is success, he feels he got all that he wanted and thinks what next. Then he thinks salvation, God, moksha or spirituality since he feels he is somewhat content with his successes but still the happiness level is not as high as he would want. He still needs blessings of God in terms of moksha, salvation etc is what he may feel.
In anology, it is like an extremely rich multikarodpathi. He may not be maintaining accounts even and he knows he may never become poor or in need of money. He would not be happy still though he can purchase whatever he wants. If he does not compare himself with others to see if he is no 1 or not, then he could get into problems. Also provided he does not get into vices like drinks, racing, cards, women, drugs, then he would surely search within and search for the ways of achieving eternal happiness.

Dev,
I think you said more or less the same thing I said, so I am not sure why you don't agree with me. The reason I wrote those lines is, long back I had seen, on television, a program, which was about a performer's life. He used to do stage shows all over the world, and he earned name, fame and fortune at a very young age. He had all the luxuries life had to offer, and there was nothing he had not enjoyed, and interestingly all this success he enjoyed before he had even turned 30. So around that time he was bored of his success. I remember his telling in the interview that he started thinking, what next? He had earned all the success he wanted to, he had enjoyed life to the fullest, but he was just around 30, so now what was he going to do with the rest of his life? He had lost taste of material life after enjoying it so much, and the very thought of 'what next', got him nervous breakdowns. He said that his hands used to shake in nervousness, worrying about how to lead his life now that all his wishes had been fulfilled and he had no more interest in pursuing materialistic life. He said at that time he developed an interest in spirituality, and that saved him: he started searching for the meaning of life, started searching for God, and it got him out of the difficult position that he had got himself into, mentally. The story of the person amazed me. For people like me who have not achieved anything in life, we hunger for materialistic pleasures and worldly success, and here there was a person who had achieved it all, and then, got tired of it and didn't want it anymore! It amazed me, and that's one of the reasons I don't think I will ever forget it: that even continuous success can get you bored!

Yes, I agree with most points but one thing what I wanted to mention is that he is sure that he will not see failures, it is in this case that he enters spirituality. You said they want a change desperately but what I meant was they donot think of failure and will not get it, by the way they dont want to have a failure or even try to see how it feels, also they are confident or they dont even think of failures since they know they will not get that. So they want spirituality since success(materialistic) does not give them ultimate satisfaction.

Aseem,
You are right in what you have said. I feel too that this Ketu period will bring out the latent spirituality in Milred.
You have beautifully analyzed the Venus period: Venus will give her materialistic life, but also will make her spiritual because 9th house is the house of religion as well, and then, Venus is combust with 12th lord of salvation, Sun, which is also the house of ashram. I think she will be a householder yogini at that time, succeeding in material life, but being detached from it all, mentally.

aseem82 wrote:Yes this is what Milredr will now learn in Ketu period!!! This ketu period is going to be a break for her and will make her realise that the real happiness does not lie in materialistic.
Just look at the sequence of the mahadashas in her life-
1) 5th Lord mahadasha
2) Lagnesh and Karmesh Mahadasha
3) Now spiritual mahadasha of Ketu
4) After that 9th Lord exalted period in 7th house and that too of vargottam
In her Lord Venus mahadasha, she will be devoting her time in doing selfless service and will be visiting ashrams besides her career and family life. Ashram because Lord Sun is conjunct with 9th Lord, both are spiritual planet.

Why are more people interested in the topic of astrology than in the topic of Moksha?

when it is the highest state to be achieved with no second to it, ... when it is the bottomline of life and all the lifes we have all thus far lived ... I see more and more people asking for astrological reading in order to understand whether some mundane goal (wealth, fame, comfortable life et al) they want to achieve with within their reach...
-
milredr
Yes Sir, we are also interested in mundane goals apart from spirituality. Not as highly evolved as u. Happy with that. Like i said to each his own.
who is there to achieve that highest state sir?
and if it what we seek why to be concerned with anyone else?
if its our true nature it will happen naturally as well
dont' forget the great Veda Vyaasa is called Paarasharya, guess who his father was

Milred,
If you see your Venus-Sun combination in your chart, it is very interesting. Venus, the 2nd and 9th lord, and the queen of materialism, is exalted, vargattoma, and that again in a house, which is not a spiritual one. So this Venus had to drag you into a materialistic life. It got you in the TV industry, which Venus signifies, and gave you tremedous success. As 2nd lord and 9th lord, this Venus had to give you wealth, family, fortune, everything that a person wishes for, but now see the interesting part: this Venus is deep combust with the 12th lord of spirituality, of ashram, of salvation, of detachment, so this turnaround in your thinking had to happen one day or the other. And then, Venus is the 9th lord of religion, too, so when it is exalted, it will have to show it's spiritual side too. Then, if you see your chart, the 5th lord of mind, Saturn, is in the 9th house of religion, again, so again, this shows that your mind will be directed to it, someday. 8th lord in the 5th house of mind, and that too, exalted, shows a highly introspective nature. And this 8th lord of moksha is with Jupiter, a spiritual planet. Now, Jupiter being debiliated and being lords of materialistic houses, 2nd lord and 9th lord Venus being exalted and vargattoma in the 7th house, and Moon in own sign in the 11th house, the spirituality had got suppressed to a large extent, other than the deep faith in God, you have talked about, always, but then, this Ketu period will give you the chance to get more spiritual.
If you never are after money, if you find your work mechanical, if you have blind faith in God and pray to Him a lot, and if you want to go to an ashram, and you still don't call yourself spiritual, then I have nothing more to say.

You are welcome, Milred. I am sure it will go fine. Just go with the flow--that's the best way.

Basab what i meant is, i dont read any spiritual book, i dont give too much time to God, i dont like following rituals blindly. I meant from that point of view. I get what ur saying Basab. I also feel, one should not feel guilty of being materialistic. I also believe materialistic people can attain Moksha. Heart has to be clean, help as many people as u can and do good. Moksha will follow. If you never were after money, if you find your work mechanical, if you have blind faith in God and pray to Him a lot, and if you want to go to an ashram, and you still don't call yourself spiritual, then I have nothing more to say.
With very warm Regards
