I've Su and Ju fallen in D1; Rockland, Maine USA - 3:55AM (working guess) - Nov. 12, 1961

In D9, Ju is swa and Su is in 10th house....

Ju's lord Sa, isn't in a kendra from lagna or moon. But, "the lord of the rashi wherein the debilitated planet has its exaltation occupies a quadrant from the Ascendant or the Moon." My moon (lording cancer; ju's exaltation) sits in 4th/Sag. So this later seems to apply.

There's also; "If two or three or four planets happen to be debilitated but occupy good Shastyamshas or favorable and good Navamshas or exalted Navamshas, the evil arising from debilitation will not come to pass. "

Not sure what a shastyamsha is tho I thought it related to points (as a rating). But as mentioned, Ju is in swa/8th and Su is in taurus/10th.
Do these apply?

And so, does the item above (moon in kenrda) combine with these D9 placements to neutralize these fallen fellas' effects in D1?

It would be nice for a seasoned eye to check these two fallen grahas for me. Experience has shown it's been mainly a mild but long term neecha effect with both; meager savings (yet this is relative), humiliations, lowliness in status and misdirection, no degree but well read, certainly no kids.
I said experience, but perhaps it's more accurate to say perception...

Yes, thanks for sharing. Are those few (graha age/strength) terms you mentioned in a latter Dirah course?

I've read there's first the neecha effect, then a subsequent banga which is much better. To, I gather malefics get better with time in any case and this at least seems to be happening, at 48.

Can't remember if that's malefics in general or malefics in upchaya houses.

Say, do you attempt remedial measures? I recently learned there's a difference between mantras and slokas! I've only listened to downloaded slokas to Shiva and Vishnu.
I'm well acquainted with Western magickal approaches to the celestials. But my mentor said it's not the same thing. So I'm not sure what the underlying root is in all this....

Interesting and thanks. I've had my su dasa and may not make it to the jupiter dasa as it's fairly far off and anything can happen. But that's good news and a nice hierarchical view.
What's kinda odd for me is that my life has basically been the same for two decades. This, with all the dasas and transits. It's either a bad day or week but things stay mostly the same.... may be a way of saying I'm stuck.

What has made this chart a success is the strength of the Upachaya houses. The 3rd lord aspects the lagna powerfully. He has the highest Shadbala after Ravi. Ravi might be debilitated. But look at his shadbala. the key to the chart is the presence of the 6th and 11th lord in the lagna. Look at Shukra's Vimshopaka Bala. Guru took you out of your home, But his Neecha Bhanga took you to the States. You got a job because Budha is Retrograde and powerful.

I have also seen in charts with Jupiter in own house but malefic due to house lordship gave unfavourable results. Here planet becomes malefic.
So in my observation, planet being malefic due to bad lordships affects the most and planet placement comes next.

Astroboy, your views please. Jupiter is supposed to be "the great benefic". What has your experience been, having seen so many charts.

Truth to be told, I find no great redeeming feature in your horoscope except for Shukra's conjunction's with the lagna. Rahu will induce a urge to succeed. I feel this 6th and 11th lord's conjunction with lagna will keep you sailing. Do not worry.

Can't add much but wanted to say my saturn rates in at 2.2 in shadbala. This towers over the rest by a wide margin. Sa is in 5th/Cap., with ketu and jupiter. I've also pluto in 12th which is out of the tradition but might be well to consider... this seems to account for all my inadvertent, "unconscious" behaviors that tend to draw the wrong kind of attention. I use quotes due to the fact I'm well aware; but they seep out anyway. I always have to be on guard!!

So I too have some challenging alignments, hence starting this thread. Are you looking into remedials? Don't forget that some of these super seasoned folks say not to take these traditional meanings at face value.

I'm still wondering about western methods and hierarchies for sidereal remedials.

your growth has been due to the strength of the Upachaya houses. How can you explain your relatively easy Guru dasha ? He is the lagna lord and is debilitated with the 8th lord. That cannot be a good placement. Yet as you have stated, Life was good for you. why ? because unlike the other houses the upachaya houses are always on. Shukra in the lagna ensured that you worked toward's a goal. Simple as that. Note the 5th house of intelect is strong. Once the intelect is strong, Man can mould his life in any which way he chooses to. Note 3rd lor's aspect on the lagna. Once the 3rd house is strong, Once the desires are there, everything falls in place.
