The basic house to see is the 4th house. The moon should be highly afflicted by Saturn, Kuja , Ketu and Rahu. If the 4th house happens to be Cancer the affliction becomes stronger because Cancer is a sensitive sign. Scorpio is also a dangerious place for the afflictions to take place. If the 4th house lord is aspected by Malefics, in a malefic Navamsha and low in Bhava bala then take it for granted that this is a sure fire sign that the person is prone to suicidal tendencies.

Very true astroboy. The only thing I would like to add is that on such combinations if there is an aspect of a Strong(not just a) benefic, the native tides over the problems.
