Hi Learned Members

Mercury's element is the Earth element (Gunas are the material elements) fused into the correct proportion of the Earth's element components. That is why Mercury reprsents vegetation.

Moon is enemy to Mercury. Moon represents the Earth, and nature's various balance cycles, the most prominent example being the Water Cycle.

Moon is enemy to Mercury. The various balance cycles are forever shifting in their stability points causing the current crop of vegetation to perish. Thus although Moon is the father of Mercury, he is also Mercury's enemy.

Mercury is friendly to Moon because the current crop of vegetation tends to reinforce the current balance cycles, ie. the status quo of the current natural laws.

Sun represents sunlight, and is friendly to Mercury, causing vegetation to sprout. Vegetation needs sunlight to produce oxygen during the day which freshens the Earth ie. the Moon, another reason why Mercury is friendly to the Moon (a more specific reason I would say, since we gave the reason of reinforcing natural laws in the previous paragraph).

At night the vegetation produces carbon dioxide, which is also good for the Earth (Moon), since this gas in a non-excessive amount, helps to hold the other atmospheric elements together, which provide a protective cover for us during the day for the Sun's glare. Mercury thus just take from the Sun's giving of its rays, yet try to keep a distance from the Sun. Mercury is thus neutral to the Sun.

Mars, the prodigy of Mother Earth, is an enemy of Mercury. Mars rule Earthquakes, causing the vegetation to perish. Mars rule buildings, which causes flora and fauna destruction including soil erosion, which is also detrimental to vegetation (Mercury).

Vegetaion helps to prevent Earthquakes by making landslides less possible. Vegeation also prevents uncontrolled building construction. Mervury is thus an enemy to Mars.

Saturn rules land and agriculture. It is neutral to vegetation (Mercury) in general. Land can have good or bad outcrops, and the vegetation adapts accordingly. Agriculture likewise may control or impede the vegetation existing in the fringes of the agricultural plot.

Saturn is thus neutral to Mercury.

Generations of vegetation provides nutrients to the land, which is beneficial for a particular agricultural farming. Mercury is thus friendly to Saturn.

Venus rules the proper marriage of natural and man-made laws to farm the land, like terracing, crop rotation, proper irrigation structure to bring the water to a piece of agriculture plot. Vegeation get the side benefits as well.

Venus also rules the water table, the level of which is caused by man and the natural elements. Vegetation all wish to get to the water table.

Venus is thus frienfly to Mercury.

The flora gives a clue to man to start using his various Venusian methods as just discussed. Man would pick the correct method, based on the clue of the vegetation. For example, mangrove swamps are not conducive for irrigation, unless the water in the swamp is cleared first. Thus Mercury is friendly to the Moon as well.

Jupiter represents the surrounding space for the vegetaion to grow. On itself it does not offer much to the vegetation without the other elements just discussed. Jupiter is thus neutral to Mercury.

Vegetation takes up unnecessary space in its uncontolled growth. Mercury is enemy to Jupiter.

Rahu represents the vista - the sometimes pockets of wide expanse of space and ground (remember Rahu must be grounded unlike Jupiter), existing in the land terrain (Saturn - notice Rahu and Saturn goes hand in hand). Vegetation craves for growth in such 'virgin' vistas. Rahu and Mercury are friendly to each other.

Ketu represents the spirit of the land. Like how some societies worship plant and animal spirits. Ketu and Mercury are both serpents. It is only theur froms are different. They go hand-in-hand just like Rahu goes hand-in-hand with Saturn.

Mercury and Ketu are friendly to each other.

Best Regards

I wrote this from inspiration. It is a result of me reading Parashara, Jainini, Nai, Bhrigu, Krishnamurthy Padditi (KP) and Lal Kitab Astrology, but especially Parashara, KP and Lal Kitab. Reading the scriptures also help.

As astrology is a divine science, you can fill in the gaps also, especially if you have good planets the 8th bhsva. 8th bhava also rules the unconscious mind.

Jupiter in my 8th is in Aquarius, exalted (according to Brihat Jataka), in Pushkara Navamsa, no other planets in the signs it rules, unaspected except for Saturn (coming to that later), and 9th to Sun which represents easy knowledge from the soul.

12th bhava which is the future of the 8th, meaning taking astrology to new heights, has the Sun there participating in a Vishnu Yoga (Sun is my 2nd lord).

Saturn in 7th retrogade goes to the 6th in Sagittarius. Saturn in Saittarius gives hnours and in the 6th of my chart gives Vipareet Raja Yoga. Jupiter in the 8th also gives Vipareet Raja Yoga, being ruler of the 6th.

They exchange signs, Jupter in 8th and Saturn in 6th (after retrogading), the exchange occurs between 2 dusthanas (after they have been cleansed by Vipareet Raja Yoga) and they are in a 3rd-11th relationship. All this leads to my great insight in Astrology after undergoing searching effort within oneself INITIALLY.

Moon, my Ascendant Lord conjunst Saturn, moving towards an exalted Jupiter which later becomes Saturn's position, shows I obtain FULL benefits of the exchange just discussed. Jupiter is also in a full moon chandra saptiamsa division, full moon representing desires fulfilled, in this case astrology.

Also the 2nd bhava rules scriptures that are heard. 6th is the 5th (future) of the 2nd. So the 6th bhava is anything heard pertaining to scriptures, which mankind do not know as yet. It also include deduction from anything heard in the past. The mind takes the input from allsensory organs which include the ears (what is heard).

4th deals with scriptures that are written. 8th is 5th (future) of the 4th. So 8th deals with insight into written scriptures including astrological texts.

The exchange between Jupiter and Saturn also constitutes Raja Yoga. Saturn is a kendra lord and Jupiter is a trinal lord.

10th is the 5th (future) of the 6th representing gains in astrological knowledge being 11th of the 8th.

10th is also the 11th (gains) of the 12th which is the 5th of the 8th (future of astrology).

Therefore, the future of the gains of astrology and the gains of future astrology are both represented by the 10th.

So always reread the scriptures pertaining to Krishna (the 10th). You may never know one fine day you stumble upon a new ingot of astrological knowledge.

Khoo, My Moon is in 8th house in Pushya. 8th lord in 8th house. 5th lord exalted Mars is in mutual aspect. Ketu is in 4th, apart from exalted Mars, Venus & Mercury are also in my 2nd house. What could you deduce it in pertaining to Astrological studies?
& 1st lord in 1st conjunct with 9th Lord Sun in Sagittarius.

You've told that Jupiter in Aquarius is exalted which was written by Mihira in Brhat Jataka. Khoo, the above statement is valid only for Virgo Ascendant folks!
It's because it looses Kendraadipathya dosha. 7th Lord Jupiter being in dusthana gives the results as exalted Jupiter in Cancer. In this context he has mentioned... & unlike it is not valid for Cancer Ascendant folks! By the above information it shows that your Ascendant is in Cancer where my 8th lord Moon is.
Could you please answer my 2 questions.

According to Brihat Jataka, Jupiter in Aquarius is synonymous to Moon in Cancer.

Which part in Brihat Jataka did it say that Jupiter in Aquarius is only good for Virgo Ascendant? Can you quote me the chapter and page number?

Anyway KHL did mention that the scriptural tale about Vishnu reincarnating as the dwarf where he unseat Bali shows that Jupiter is exalted in Aquarius and based on what he said, I tend to agree with him. Sometimes people tend to get these insights through passing through the various states of waking, sleeping, deep sleep, bliss, deep deVotion etc. that is why their insights can be tantamount to be given by God directly.

Scriptural backing is very important, in my opinion.

Divinity, I didn't say that Jupiter is good only to a particular Ascendant. Like here Kanya, but I said that, Jupiter in Aquarius in 6th being a dusthaana for Virgo Ascendant equals Jupiter in Cancer (exalted Jupiter) thus doesn't give bad results. As Khoo said that Jupiter in Aquarius is exalted, but it's said in different context by Mihira in his Bríhat Jaataka.
That's what I meant!
A particular Graha has only one exaltation degree & one Debilitation degree.
It's observed that Jupiter exalts in Cancer (Pushya) & debilitates in Capricorn.
If Jupiter exalts in Aquarius, its Debilitation should be in Simha which is ridiculous! Since Astronomically it's wrong.

Anyway look at this link :

http://mahadasha.com/jupiter-in-zodiac-signs/

It says that Jupiter in Aquarius from 13 degrees 20 minutes to that of 20 degrees is as good as being in its sign of exaltation. This covers the 3rd pada of stabbatashik which is vargottama and the 4th pada of stabbatashik which is a pushkara navamsa and Jupiter is in its own sign navamsa of Pisces.

If Saturn aspects Jupiter in Aquarius, the person will be very learned....a testimony to the Bali story with Vishnu's 3 steps.......he may be a legal luminary. He will be very wealthy and highly placed. He will have all the comforts of life.
