NATURALLY shani and mangal are sworn enemies...so obviously their combination will cause malefic effect....here are some effects...
makes a person,. miserable,betrayer,skilled in use of weapons..has danger from poison or injury..bereft of home comforts...etc.
BUT dont be depressed.i am sure there are other aspects to concern before the above interpretation might be true..or possibly a benefic planet is aspecting,,

The conjuction of cruel-nature planets in the 11th house (one of the upachaya houses apart from 3rd & 6th) is not bad.

Navamsa is usaully interpreted with reference to position of Rasi e.g. being exalted or debilitated or vargottama.
As far as a planet being considered in conjunction with other or eclipsed in the navamsa only,in my humble opinion,it is not to be interpreted being equivalent to Rasi chart.

I was wondering about who in my case , wins the war in the 11th house...Shani or Mangal ?
Shani is vargottam , and in a friend's house...but in the nakshatra of mars...shadbala of mars is more than Shani...mars is the lagna lord...
Also , in my case does it makes sense to strengthen Mars (using mantras/stotras) alone ?
Could anyone here please give some inputs ?

You need not be worried who wins or loses,
You seem to have both in 12th house instead of 11th
You have 3 planets retrograde
indicating some delays however,
dealy would usually be in your favour in the long run.
