I don't think that's a proper way to look at the career. I look at the planet holding the second highest degree (amatyakaraka) , look at the sign and the house of placement of that planet. Check the placement of the same in the D-10 Chart.
I'm still a student in astrology. So let's wait till seniors post their reply.

Yes, I understand all those concepts you mentioned.

Although, each combination affects everything else. I remember reading some career related inferences from 'Saturn in Sagittarius'. Hence, I ask this question. :)

I understand that you have to see the sum total of all placements. Although, each placement plays its role.
