Hello all!
A little background-info first.
I belong to seagoing career (shipping). however, in my first sail as a Cadet (engineer), i had suffered an accident/injury, post which, i have been stalled. i didn't take the occurrence to be a good sign, but i don't know. i have next-to-nil knowledge about astrology. months after recovery from it, i worked for some time on shore in an office, and then deciding to take my chances, left the work to exhaust whatever chances i had at appearing for entry to the Forces, with the thought that if i ultimately failed, i would resume seafaring, even if i had to go back again as a Cadet. getting into a Force was a longtime dream of mine, and still is (but am now left only with the option of TA), and i could barely imagine any other work for myself. am highly averse to corporate-work/office-going work, otherwise would either have continued in shore-work, or would've done MBA or something to get into the corporate, but my natural inclination isn't in that direction.
anyway, during the last 2 years, have suffered a couple of more injuries, which lengthened my period on shore, but am ready to step on the deck again (failing to make it to any of the Services eventually; can't do anything but accept it; was anyway forewarned about it sometime back)! however, my doubt is, was getting injured in my 1st sail itself, a sign that i should look elsewhere? not that am left with many choices now, plus, sailing is still on top of my priority-list as a profession to sustain myself, but this doubt still lingers on.
i would like to request knowledgeable members here to kindly shed some light on:
- would seafaring be beneficial to me as a profession?
- if yes, by when can i expect to land a working-contract? the shipping-scene is tough now, even for newly passed-out Cadets; but am looking towards joining vessels like tugs, offshore vessels, etc., and not bigger ships; i.e., smaller, with shorter contracts, and with lesser risk to limb and life. i intend to frequent land many times, to appear for TA exams, and hence the wish.
- if not, could it be told from my horoscope, what line of profession would be suitable for me? i have 1-2 choices in my mind, but would write about them here only if its revealed that sailing is a no-option.
my birth-details are as follows:
DoB - 2nd July, 1985
ToB - 0300 hrs
PoB - Unnao (U.P.)
Resumption of seafaring, or something else....
