Hello all,
recently I came across the concept of "Zero rashi" or "Dagdha rashi".
There's an old thread here actually: https://www.lightonvedicastrology.com/p ... ha#p163612

But it is old so I figured I'd post a new one, as I have some questions...

mostly : does anyone know more specific results of these "zero rashi's"? or planets in them?
I've seen a few celebrity charts that have many planets in a zero rashi and they seemed to be doing well of course during those periods.
I myself have my zero rashi being Sagittarius and Pisces, my Lagna lord Mer and 5th lord Venus are in pisces...
both retrograde.

now I've read retrograde sort of cancels out the negative effect of being in a zero rashi.
Does everyone agree?

I would say so (that or zero rashi itself as a concept doesn't work..) as my previous Mer+Venus AD periods, in the MD of jupiter no less (zero rashi lord!) were both fantastic...infact with venus being the best period of my life so far.

I read on a different website (sorry was a while ago, I don't remember the link) That if the zero rashi lord is debilitated or in 3,6,8, 12 it actually helps make it more benefic (or do less harm rather).
Now my zero rashi lord jupiter is both, debilitated and in 8.... could this be why I didn't suffer so much in it's dasha? (which is true, I can't even think of a bad event that happened during all of Jupiter dasha which was throughout most of life up until age 27)

In the end, I'm just wondering if anyone has done more research on this Dadha rashi topic and can share their findings?

Thank you.

Bonus question: I notice talk of yogi points , and ava yogi / duplicate yogi in that thread I posted...

what happens if the negative ava yogi is retrograde? would it help make it less malefic?

I just found this,
and feel I'd share here :
http://scientific-astro.[NO EXTERNAL LINKS PLEASE].ca/201 ... rashi.html

is it true?
if so, that would make me quite lucky, ...escaped the negativity of dagdha rashi. It would explain why my Jupiter dasha + especially mer/venus AD's were great periods full of positive events.

Hey GNE, just googled it!
Swami Vivekananda's Lagna also involved in Zero Raashi.
While in your free time what can you interpret in my case?!
Vaidhriti Yoga! Yogi point is in 8th house. Thus Jupiter is Yogi & is in Ascendant in Sagittarius, Sun is Ava yogi & same, conjunct with Jupiter as you're already aware of. Born on 2nd phase of Waning Moon day. So, my Ascendant & 4th house involved in zero Raashi. As Sun transit on Sagittarius some says due to Waning Moon phase tithi didn't get dagdha but some says it is.
What can you interpret w.r.t. my chart, as you've written in 2014 I'm sure you've concluded something on this!

Hey by the way recently I've recognized that my 7th Lord/ 10th Lord Mercury is in stationary state! Frankly speaking I can really feel its effect on me! I'm very slow & keen while analyzing things!!! & importantly 10th Lord is in 8th Lord's constellation. I think it will help in Research!

Just see in your free time.

This is from Shankar Adawal :

Dagha Rasis on dusthanas give very good results. In my chart, my Dagha Rasis Gemini and Virgo overlay 12th and 3rd bhavas respectively. The ruler Mercury is in the 11th bhava.

So far in my experience, my Mercury's period is above average but not say superlatively good.

But I am generally quite adept in 1th house and 3rd matters like spirituality and writing.

I would say this concept has more to do with the signs per se rather than the planet ruling the signs. As such, this concept has more generally to do with a person's fate throughout life, rather than any peaks or troughs experienced during the dasas.

Hey Vivek,
yes this was in 2014 and sadly, all that I've concluded is that to me: the dagdha rashi concept has not worked well enough to be a trusted technique. Note: I said "for me", since I understand there could be others that use the concept and get better results somehow with it.
Like how some people prefer not to use varga charts much, or some focus on nakshatra(especially KP style) whereas others don't. We all use different astrology "tools" more often and other tools less.

The last year or so, I ignore dagdha rahi and it's reated concepts, and found I 've never needed them. There are so many other things to look at in a chart that even if I try to use the concept, as I tried in 2014 and some 2015 , It never felt necessary and also I found it hardly worked.

So I'm sorry I can't analyze your chart using dagdha rashi, since it's not a concept I use and have not researched more on it for over a year.

Hopefully other members can give their opinions on it for you, like Khoo started in the above message.

Basically, Dagdha means 'Burnt'. The concept of Dagdha Rasi is that if, on a certain tithis, Sun is transiting specific signs, those signs become Dagdha. E.g on a Pratipat, if Sun is transiting over Tula or Makara, that specific rasi is Dagdha. Not that for all persons born on Pratipat, Tula and Makara will be Dagdha. Why specific Rasis are mentioned for different tithis -- I do not know !!!!

I have checked the issue and here is my take:-
a. Dagdha implies burnt and fire is the most purifying element in Hindu mythology.
b. Whatever is dagdha is situation at the time of birth, it promises restoration.
I checked that both me and my wife have signs of mercury as dagdha rasi, our son has mercury in the ascendent.Presently we are known in our neighbourhood because of him.
As a remedy I take care that my home printer remains in working condition, though it is a bit expensive to maintain.

Dear Revribhav Ji, Let's say Sun is in a zodiac where that zodiac is involved in Dagdham! Now what does that imply? Because Sun itself is with full of fire!
I've 9th lord Sun, Jupiter in Sagittarius in Ascendant, but Lagna Lord Jupiter didn't involve in combustion from Sun. But the Rasshi got Dagdha because of tithi. In turn tithi also got dagdha because Sun transit is in Sagittarius because I've born when Moon is in 2nd day of waning Moon phase. Some says in waning phase tithi will not undergo combustion. What should I infer from all the above?!
Thanks

Many a time an Astrological dictum need to be tested, as the chart belongs to you, you may check whether the dagdha applies as per your real life experience or not?
I have 9th lord Jupiter in gemini 12th house, the sign is dagdha and during the last decade I felt the effects;however jupiter continues to purify my conscience, making me a better person.
