Hello all,
I'm wondering what sort of effect the placement of the D10's ascendant lord + tenth lord has on professional life (I say both, as everywhere I read astrologers seem to take both of these house lords as most important in this chart)
More specifically, the difference between something like D10 Asc Lord in a Dushanta, or a Trine (especially if in the ascendant itself), or tenth house itself, etc.
It seems to me that this should be such an easy question to find answers for, but I've been having no luck finding anything in my searches. I've found what different houses mean, and books/websites simply just saying it's "good" to have 1st/10th lord in a kendra or trine, and brings problems if in dushanta (or even any other house to some degree), But I would like to know more specifics. What sort of meaning would 1st or 10th lord in the 6th house of d10 be? (for example), or what about in the lagna itself, as this seems to be the most "important" house (tied with tenth house).
And yes, I know we are to judge Rasi chart primarily, never just use a divisional chart as the main chart without studying rasi. I'm asking though, as if one's already read the rasi + navamsa, and looks to d10 then see's the placement of it's 1st/10th lord...what to derive from this?
Thank you.
Dasamsa Ascendant/Tenth Lord placement...

Extremely skilled person, gold medalist in certain subjects.
Ran into a bit of problem with a supervisor, who was infamous for being dictatorial and not very skilled in his area, in mid-late 60s early in his career and was suspended without pay. Despite several failed appeals, remained so, until supervisor got transfered in 1973 and the nativity was reinstituted during that year by the new supervisor who was replacing the earlier one. There were other personal tragedies in family life, but this is simply for the work/career related self-study you are doing.

Thanks for that Crystalpages,
Unless I had the wrong timezone (which is possible, as I've been having trouble with my software lately and needed to manually input timezone...I may have been wrong),
I noticed his D10 tenth lord is in the 11th, but his Ascendant lord (of d10) Sun, is in the negative 8th along with 12th lord Moon and aspected by Saturn from the 6th. Sun is also his Rasi 10th Lord, in the 8th dasamsa...
His lagna also has Ketu-Rahu axis...
These are some things that could be negative for work/career.
Jup as 5th L in ascendant is very good though, it's with 11th+2nd (dhan) lord Mercury, both planets getting directional strength.
He was in saturn dasha in that mid-late 60's time...and it's not really doing anything spectacular in Dasamsa,
his transfer was in Mer-Mars. ... mars in 12th.
Anyway I didn't plan on doing a full reading, just looking at the placement of ASC and 10th Lord's in d10 and seeing how they (or if they even) affect the person's overall career. Since based on what I read, it seems most astrologers give more importance to the placements of those house lords in D10.
Thank you

Thanks for your comments and observations. It was IST (TZ) and the data posted in a helpful frame of mind and not as a QUIZ etc! As far as I know, the person met with those rather negative challenges and never was able to deliver his potential and promise. Perhaps other even finer vargas might justify the WHY? I do not know!! Other than his professional career facts, to a certain point! I wish life allowed me to follow-up this very interesting person I happened to run into, and his (their) human journey!
I was, also, not seeking a reading for one I have lost trail of! So, please treat it as a case-study for your own personal self-study! His chart does bear resemblance to another nativity who is in public data bases and quite a different person! But, now I am digressing and so, let me hold my breath!
