Should Navamsa Lagna be fixed based on Gender?

Hi,

Recently, I heard from a renowned astrologer that Navamsa Lagna should be fixed based on Gender while casting the chart. Male native should always get Odd sign as Navamsa Lagna and Female native should always get even sign as Navamsa Lagna. Based on birth time, if male native, happens to get even sign as Navamsa Lagna, the next sign should be fixed as Navamsa Lagna, for example if Male get Scoripo Lagna in Navamsa, it should be fixed as Saggittarus Lagna, similarly if female native happens to get Libra lagna, it should be fixed as Scropio Lagna. The reason, he gave is that appropriate birth time is always considered as the time when Child cry is heard.


I have been learning and practicing astrology for some time now. But I havent come across such dictum either in classics or through various online forums.Experts are requested to share their views on this contentious claim.
