Hi Learned Members
The perplexing question here is Parasara has held that certain divisional charts gain certain weightage in the analysis of the Jataka's fortune. D60 for example gets 5.0 and Rasi chart gets 3.0. D12 gets 1.5 and so does Navamsa D9. And nothing mentioned is about D45 regarding weightage although Parasara says to confirm the prosperity of certain houses in the Rasi Chart, D45 MUST be consulted.
How to make sense of all of this?
D60 represents your fate over the very, very long run and always the person's final fate and fortune, somehow or other, hinges on the spiritual imparting of the D60. Does it represent mundane matters per se? Yes, it is almost like a divisional chart which is the Argala for the Rasi Chart. D60 can have the final say on a person's fate and fortune especially :
(1) if D60 shows the matter to be read from Rasi chart has spiritual implications, meaning the spiritual impact on that matter is great, and D60 can determine the turning of the tides for that matter.
(2) D60 can show something so ingrained, that it can block or impede whatever that is promised in the Rasi Chart.
Then how about D9 and D12?
D9 shows fortune and luck and the support the person gets in general in this lifetime from God whether it is ability, talents or even fortune. D12 shows what is given to us outright just as we are about to be borned.
Although each of them are given only 1.5 in the weightage scheme for use in the overall assessment of the Jataka, the planets there can also be superimposed onto the Rasi, and Rasi we know gets 3.0 on its own, but with the superimposition, it means you get :
3.0 X 1.5 for the combined effects of Rasi and Navamsa
AND
3.0 x 1.5 for the combined effects of Rasi and Dwadarsamsa
Added to that there is D45 which confirms the prosperity of the Rasi. But where is the weightage of D45? It is only found in the Rasi Chart which is 3.0.
Rasi Chart shows the FATE of the individual in the vairous departments of life he is borned into. D45 confirms whether he does well or not.
But how does D45 compare with D60?
D45 the effects are such that it gives the POTENTIAL for prosperity but the D60 can make or break it. If the D45 does not confirm it, the D60 becomes actually irrelevant. But if the D45 confirms it, D60 would show how the past karma makes it how difficult or easy it would be for the individual to reach the goal.
It thus mean D45 is acutally a close sister of the D1 Rasi Chart but D60 instead is actually the God Father. The God Father gets to pull the purse strings.
D45 is thus something like a gateway to a fortune before it is massaged by the other divisional charts including D60 which is the Godfather.

Then we come to the question of taking the 5th house as the Ascendant which I have discussed many times beofe.
Using this method, we can look at the fate of the individual in an enlarged manner. The Rasi Chart with 1st house is our FATE (as indicated earlier on also) but the Progressed Chart (taking 5th house as Ascendant whether Rasi or the other divisional charts) shows the FATE that we are continuously pushed towards to throughout life, in fact right from birth.
In fact using the Progressed Chart gives a more accurate reading of the person.
