What can be said about the nodal return of Rahu and Ketu once in 18years - transit over the natal rahu and ketu - Read that it will be a very intense period for the natives, Can anyone explain in detail.

Thanks

It depends on the role of Rahu and Ketu in the chart. If nodes are influencing Lagna, Lagna Lord or Dasha Lord, we can expect to find some amplification of effects.

For the record, nodal return hasn't done much in my case. It is the nodal transit over lagna lord during LL's dasha that was intense.

I exactly faced what kavi74 has faced. I have 2nd rahu and 8th Ketu.
first time it was a break in education and after 18 years a break in job.
Thanks & Regards,

It appears to me that we should look more closely at Rahu-Ketu returns. Did the break in job happen for the first time in 18 years after the first return and lasted the whole 18 months of transit? Or only when conjunct at the same degree as natal Rahu-Ketu?

Otherwise, there are more factors influencing a break and Rahu-Ketu transit is only a additional burden.

If Rahu-Ketu alone influence the break in education, then all 18-year-olds born during a 18 month period will stop their education for 1.5 years, all over the world. All I see is that most 18-year-olds go to college and a few have a break. This shows "change" rather than "break".

I have 2nd Rahu and 8th Ketu, I didn't have any breaks in education during the transit. I went to college in the same town and with the same friends and didn't see any major change either.

I agree with multiple factors. It can just be a coincidence too. Now that you have told that you have Rahu/Ketu in the 2/8 axis, I hope they are alone ? How was your ketu period ? Ofcourse, the house lord position where ketu stays also matters. Just would like to know, how was your ketu dasa ?
Thanks & Regards,

I am born in Ketu Nakshatra. My ketu dasa was done by the time I was a one year old.
During Ketu AD I had losses and major transformations in family relationships. But that comes with 8th house, I guess.

nodal returns this time is not so severe owing to jupiterian influence in transit.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yes, I was reading that nodal return is very intense.

What can be said for a Capricorn Asc with Ketu in 4th house and Rahu in 10th house - nodal return - transit on 4th and 10th house.
DOB - Twenty five . october. 1976
Time - 13.01 , Hyderabad, India

Thanks

I am only a learner of astrology. Here is what I see:

The chart has very influential 10th house, with yoga-karaka Venus in Malavya yoga and Mars. Then the native is running Sat/Rahu dasa. So, I expect an intense transit of nodes.
This should trigger events relating to career, social status and reputation. Creativity, connection with children/followers should get better as ketu leaves Jupiter in 5th house.

Whatever the native's experiences are with home/mother and career/social status, this transit will only amplify it, both good and bad. So, more comforts and gains in all material pleasures, but perhaps some disconnect from fourth house matters. Rahu in 10th may also give visiting highly spiritual places close to home.

I think a more important transit to watch out is the Mars transiting opposite to natal Saturn and in Lagna. Saturn is both LL and Dasha lord. Some event must happen related to self-identity and home (Mars sees 4th house from lagna). This event must have already started with Mars in 12th seeing natal Saturn with 8th dristi and Moon in 6th and it is related to partnership as Rahu was also looking at Saturn. It will only amplify and transform the native's self-identity. Whatever has been happening covertly will come out in open.

Hi Violet,

Thank you very much for the response.

You mention that native is running Sat/Rahu dasha - from the chart I have with the details - it shows that native is running Ketu-Me-Sa dasha chidra with Venus mahadasha starting from Dec 25th 2012. Can you please take a look. Moon in Scorpio, Capricorn Asc
4th house - ketu
5th - Jup
7th - saturn
9th - Mercury exalted @ 29 degrees - almost in 10th house
10th - Sun, Rahu, Mars
11th - Venus and Moon

As you said when Ketu leaves jupiter, 5th house may be better in transit.

Thanks

Hi sunnyday,

I am sorry. I did see wrong data. I think I entered Sep instead of Oct and got Sun in Virgo instead of Libra. You are right, Venus dasa is starting soon.

Now that I see Rahu leaving deb Moon + Venus, and Ketu leaving 5th house Jup , Ketu dasa ending, Rahu-Ketu transit to Libra-Aries should give a lot of relief from mental worries about family and income.

I think this coincidence of dasa sandhi and transit would cause a lot of changes.

I take back about the intensity of nodal return. It may cause some problems with transiting Rahu going at deb. Sun and career related issues, but Sun is conjunct Mars and in Kendra having partial neecha bhanga. So, it will cause some annoyances but nothing major. What was major headache was already done in the last six months. Any problems with career will surface when Sun transits Libra again (mid oct-nov 2013).

But I still think Mars transit over lagna is something to watch out for. Mars is also badhaka hosting dasa lord Ven and deb Moon. And as I wrote before, its opposite to LL Saturn. But Jupiter return to 5th house will make sure it will drive the native towards spirituality and retreat, and have a overall benefic influence long term.

Best regards,
Violet

Hi,
I have a terrible experience with Rahu and Ketu node reversal in 6th and 12th house ( Native Rahu in 6th house and Ketu in 12th house). Currently running first phase of Sade sati ( Scorpio Ascendant and Lagna). So Rahu and Saturn in 12th house and Jupiter transiting 8th house. Currently running Venus MD and Mars AD. I have lost my high paying job coincided with node reversal. Dont know when the good time will come.
