Hi wanted to know if a planet is in mrita(dead) avastha for example mercury in 7th house for Virgo ascendant and in mrita avastha then will it give good effects or bad effects?Can someone please reply?

Mrita avastha means in dead postion . It would not be able to give good or bad effects either as is in dead avastha . In that case planet had to be strengthened by remedies.

Yes, chanting Vishnu Sahasranamam is the best remedy for improving strength of mercury. You can listen to the chant of MS Subbalakshmi which is very good. Also it can be chanted any time and so no time restriction is there.

This had been a source of confusion for me as well as to how much of importance to give to Avasthas.

Jupiter in his deepest exaltation is automatically dead!

It had been suggested to me earlier that one possible explanation for this is that it may not necessarily refer to sign but bhava.

BPHS 45.3:

3. INFANT STATE ETC:
Infant, youthful, adolescent, old, and dead are the states of planets placed in the ascending order at the rate of six degrees in odd signs. This arrangement is reverse in the case of even signs.

If anyone has a sanskrit copy, could you please look it up and see if the exact word used is "rashi" or "bhava".

Strength of a planet is calculated on several factors and they are projected as "Shad Bala".
Are we to take into account "Avestha" or " Shad Bala" when a chart is analysed?

There are various parameters to check strength of planet like

Shad bala
vimsopaka bala
avasthas of planet

but if you cannot check all this atleast check planet strength in navmasa.

In particular planet is weak in birth chart but getting strength in navmasa its malefic effects will reduced and vice versa

No marriage is not denied but it will be some what delayed . Better prospects for marriage may come in period from 2/april/2019

Narayan sir thank you so much but I have a question regarding this then does it not show that Saturn actually denies things rather than delay it because by April 2019 my mercury dasha would have started so now that I am running Saturn dasha till 2019 then isnt it denying everything Is Saturn in 3rd house and that too retrograde denying all these things Why I am asking these questions is my parents are already forcing me but I have studied my horoscope and I know the reasons why I may have a difficult married life thats the reason I am asking Please let me know
