A retrograde Saturn in a chart, regardless of where you find it, always represents the neglect of responsibilities in the past. In many ways, it indicates that the native of the chart must be more honest with himself since there was an avoidance of true self-awareness and self honesty.
Also, with a retrograde Saturn, the native comes into this life with a tendency to have the same goals that he had before, for these were not fulfilled in the past because of the avoidance of responsibilities. Therefore, the identical goals will be present, sometimes clothed in different circumstances or different situations, but the same goals would be the underlying foundation, regardless, in the circumstances and situations inthe person’s life.
Always, a retrograde Saturn in a chart indicates that, in a past lifetime, the individual crystallized-did not grow. The responsibilities that were ignored or avoided in the past are involved with the qualities of the sign in which the retrograde Saturn is located in this lifetime. For example – a retrograde Saturn in Leo shows that the individual avoided the responsibility of leadership in the past, and with the Sun as the ruling planet of Leo, the individual made no attempt to bring out the soul quality or soul consciousness in the past. Another example of this would be a retrograde Saturn in Cancer. Since Cancer is the “feeling” sign of the Zodiac, it shows the avoidance of true “feeling” concepts in the past.

It has become a dangerious and irresistible past time for people who practice Jyotishya to say that a Retrograde planet indicates "Past" and “Unfinished" Karma. This "Past Karma" tag which is attached to Retrograde Grahas, has been borrowed from western astrologers and is now increasingly being misused by people practicing Vedic astrology.
Just pause to think what a horoscope is. A horoscope Shows us the sum total of the Sanchita and Prarabdha, Karma of an individual. A horoscope shows the Jyotishi if these Karmas are Dridha (Fixed), Dridha - Adridha((Fixed - Unfixed) or Adridha (Unfixed) Karmas. It depends on the skill of the Jyotishi to interpret when these karmas (Dridha, Dridha Adridha, or Adridha) will act. In short, All the Grahas, not only Retrograde Grahas, and their relative positions in a chart represent our past Karmas. The entire horoscope is a map of the Natives Karmas. This "A Retrograde Graha shows past Karma" tag being attached to a Retrograde planet is absolutely wrong.
Coming to the strength of a Retrograde Graha, while it is true that a Retrograde Graha is "Strong" (Via Chesta Bala), it would be plain stupid to assume this as a Blanket statement. There are many charts on this very forum, where a Graha, though Retrograde, has the lowest Chesta Bala and thus emerges as the weakest Graha in the chart.
A Jyotishi must ensure that he/she must study the Shad Bala break up and assess the strength of a Retrograde Graha before arriving at any conclusion. A Retrograde Graha does not attain strength the moment it Turns Retrograde, It attains strength progressively during his course of Retrogression. It is left to the Jyotishi to calculate how much the Retrograde Graha has progressed. Once a Retrograde Graha attains it's Maximum strength, the Graha will start losing his strength, sometimes, in the same speed and proportion as it gained strength, and in some cases, dipping even lower in Chesta Bala than Normal, while being Retrograde. It is prudent that the Shad Bala break-up be thoroughly examined before arriving at any conclusion, when it comes to assessing a Retrograde Graha.

Whatever I read from articles and whatever I hear from here I try to beleive in that but personally I might be wrong but I have one question which clicks my mind..
Why some people born in rich family and some are born poor, some have good health and some they are week from birth. There is something which I need to be understood. Some people they are not intelligent but having very peaceful and comfortable life and others they are intelligent but are bound to work hard to survive.
God is great he gives us eyes to see, hands to eat, mind to think but he wrote every person's destiny different no one have same life even they born in same family or even they are twins but they lead their life differently..... why ?

One of the persons horoscope has got a value of 0.0 for the chesta bala. Anyway it is one of the components of shadbala and shadbala may have a different value but what does 0 indicate here, it is rather unusual, I have not seen in other charts.

Deepak jee I am fully agree what you said but there are some responsibilities which we know we have take and we want to take but we ignore those because of some internal fear which ristrict us not to complete and we stick with those undone karma.

Terrific lines by you, Tarun. I so much agree with you. We don't find the courage in ourselves, a lot of times. We lose the battle, even if we can maybe win if we try.

Astrology is not the right tool determine the past-there isn't sufficient information to establish verifiable links; it is a tool to understand the present and the future. To understand the past you have to dive into very high forms of meditative yoga. Human soul doesn't determine credits and debts like the way we do even though we are humans, soul has no mathematical ability nor intelligence to determine where to go and what to do, math, science and astrology are degenerated human behavior humans have devised to fit in with the complex society- in other words these are tools for living.
