Hi Learned Members

Jupiter represents the laws of the country in its purest form and Sagittarius is Jupiter's Moolatrikona sign. So the 9th house is where Jupiter is officious and the laws are applied officiously. Jupiter has no enemies and that is why it can undertake this role. Jupiter is merciful and that is why it applies the laws to one and all in a very impartial manner. But behold those who break the laws.

Jupiters gets enmity from Venus and Mercury. Where love and business is concerned, they can climb over the pickets set up by the law precepts. But Jupiter gets friendship from Mars the executor of the law, the Sun which is the government, the one and only body who can make and change the laws and the Moon when the mind is attuned to areas of law, then can it reaches its finest discrimnatory power and virtuous standing. The Moon also represents society in general in the way it is bound together via informal links. This ensures commerce and civic consciousness. Only when such aspects of society thrive can the laws of the country flourish.

Saturn represents the karma of the person. There is always an eternal struggle between karma and the laws. Sometimes they are in synch, but there can times when they out of synch. Laws can perpetuate hardship to the people and an innocent man can be victimised. On the other hand a person can build up his bad karma in this lifetime and goes unpunished until his next lifetime. Karma and the application of laws are two completely separate issues. That is why Jupiter and Saturn are neutral.

Saturn is praised by BPHS when it rules the 9th or the 3rd. This means the karma of a person goes along with the laws of the country (3rd is opposite the 9th - house aspect is always in full even as planetary aspects for Jupiter, Saturn and Mars may not be in full so the houses they RULE the effects are not 100% to the house opposite to the house they occupy). Jupiter by being in fall in Saturn's sign becomes a Raja Yoga when placed in a Dusthana. This means lawlessness amongst the elements inimical to society causes society to flourish as we are got rid of the vagabonds and wrong doers.

Jupiter and Sun are dharmic planets and they gives light to whichever houses they occupy. Sun represents ego and Jupiter represents social standing. If Sun conjuncts Jupiter in a chart, the person knows how to make use of his already high social standing to further his ambition. Jupiter conjunct Moon exalts the purity of mind of the person. The person is also set to achieve higher goals in life and it gives gains and wealth to him. Jupiter conjunct Mars gives good, purposeful and energetic action all the way. Much obstacles can be overcomed and goals can be achieved in a straightforward and a non-nonsense approach manner.

Jupiter and Venus together gives luxuries and ease in life, but it is a profligate signification, as the person is prone to waste, so neither the temperance of Jupiter via outward behaviour and manners are achieved, and Venus balance and harmony is completely broken. Jupiter and Mercury although gives good mental acumen and knowledge, does not completely harness the best of Jupiter's far sightedness and breadth of vision nor Mercury's attention to details and the tightness of logic is somewhat slackened and becomes flaccid. It produces thus an ivory type of scholar, unattuned to the realities of the surroundings around him.

Rahu is unconventional as Jupiter is conventional. Together they produce someone who knows how to use various means to further his objectives in life, both conventional and unconventional ways. As both planets signify expansion, somehow the ends always justify the means and usually the person gets away with it unless there are difficult placements on Rahu and Jupiter by sign or house. Society considers them as someone who is merciless but internally they are actually very idealistic. Dispositorship by either planet on the other produces the same effects as well as both planets signify means towards achieving outer manifestation of things so their effects are highly visible and a slight association of these two in the chart is very visitble in the outer life of the person.

To be continued .................

Jupiter and Ketu gives a person who seeks religious completeness and he is not averse to trying out various religious dicta to find the best possible one for himself to adopt. The person is able to use the written word to sway the reader's internal consciousness since they represent the dharmic element aspect of a person's life which CUTS ACROSS THIS CURRENT LIFETIME (unlike Sun which has affinity for the Dharmic house 5th and 9th by being their karaka so Sun repsents Dharmic aspects of a person's current life). To gain more from this configuration, it should be placed in Earth or Air Houses where people on the receiving end can get the good effects from the person who has this configuration eg. Jupiter and Ketu in the 3rd gives a mesmerising communicative ability through the arts - Ketu gives ingenuity and Jupiter is attuned to the zeitgeist that is currently operating in society.

Hi Milredr

Conjunction of Jupiter with Sun and Jupiter with Mercury I have already explained above. Sun with Jupiter usually gives a high social standing which even gets higher as life progresses. In general, even if the person is not actively working or just living at home quietly, somehow or other in any informal groups he participate or even amongst his relatives or family members, he is very much respected.

Jupiter with Mercury I have also explained above. This configuration is good for studies but it is not par excellence as Mercury can do better away from Jupiter and Jupiter also can do better away from Mercury.
But this configuration does make the person diplomatic, fair and a person who is a defndor of the good of what is written or said like a lawyer. A trine between Mercury and Jupiter would be better in fact as then Mercury can tap more easily Jupiter's wisdom via the trine.

12th house is something like a frist step of moving away from an active life of the 10th of reputation, work and career matters and authority endowed upon you because of your work. It is a house generally when a person has to come to terms with himself alone before going to the next stage of the afterlife. It is the 9th to the 4th of old age.

Sun and Jupiter in the 12th in this case makes Jupiter stronger in a Piscean sense, and the person's ego is watered down although his social standing remains high even to the point of it being spread overseas. Generally although he may attain world renown, but the person do not crave for the limelight but rather plan his moves behind the scenes to attain his strategic ends.

Jupiter and Mercury in the 12th is again where Jupiter is comfortable in but not Mercury. The person likes to use inutiion in his judgement and many a times he cannot really explain in real logical terms how he comes to a conclusion. The person is an avid reader since reading is a solitary activity. Much depth of knowledge can be gained through reading and also via insights.

Dear Hock Leong, I made a recent post about Jupiter and Venus in 12th house of Navamsa. Can you guide me?

intstud wrote:I read some of the posts here about Venus in 12th house and I have some serious questions about a chart I'm studying.
In the Navamsa Venus is in the 12th house along with Jupiter.
This is a female's chart (actually my sister's) and the last two months have been terrible for her and she faced quite a few unexpected setbacks. She is longing someone in a foreign land and I'm very worried. Will this work out or is she destined to be alone all her life (as she keeps saying when she gets really upset)?

Jupiter conjuncting Mars I have explained above as someone who does everything in proper order and also brood no obstalces. So this is a sign of executorship. Since both are friends in this case unlike say Mercury and Jupiter explained above, both the conjunction and aspects are worthy of consideration.
