Gaja Kesari Yoga

Hi Everyone,
I came to know that Gaja Kesari Yoga is quite appreciated. But i would like know the extent of strength of gaja kesari yoga. what are the major attributes that govern this yoga?. I myself have gaja kesari yoga, but i am not sure about the level of contribution of this yoga in my chart. If someone interested in studying in detail, these are the details DOB: 28TH JANUARY 1986 (GREGORIAN), TOB: 12:55PM, SEX: MALE, POB: TIRUPATI, INDIA .

However, your Jupiter is in transition zone at 0.47 degrees in Aquarius, which makes it a little weaker than it should be. Moon is well-placed, but rules 3rd house. These are the causes for the lowering the power of your Gaja Kesari yoga.

This Yoga gives the most powerful effect during Moon and Jupiter Mahadashas - especially during Moon-Jupiter and Jupiter-Moon. So wait for those periods to get its full effect. Recite Dashavatara Stotra and Shri Suktam from Rig Veda to make it more powerful.

you have Gaja Kesari Yoga but your Jupiter is debilitated and also at 0.12 degrees and Moon is in adverse sign as well. So, this Gaja Kesari Yoga is quite weak.

Besides, you are running Rahu Mahadasha at the moment. Jupiter Mahadasha is far away.

Rahu is in transition zone at 0.52 degrees. This is making its Mahadasha troublesome.

If you can afford, wear an emerald.

I think a business related to communication, writing, languages etc should be good for you.

After invoking Ganesha, recite Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 108 times, followed by Devi Suktam from Rig Veda daily. During Vasanta and Sharada Navaratri ask a priest to recite Durga Saptashati followed by Saptashati Homam.

Moreover, pray to Saraswati daily, reciting any prayer for her.

Combust Jupiter's power depends upon the degree of combustion - the more the degree of combustion, the less the Jupiter's power.

You do have the Gaja Kesari Yoga. Eventhough the Jupiter is debilitated in your chart, it aspects an exalted Moon in 5th and hence, all periods of Moon will give you a strong effect of Gaja Kesari Yoga.

You are running Rahu Mahadasha till 1/6/2024. This Mahadasha is the cause of your problems. Situation will improve from 19/12/20.

After Rahu, Jupiter Mahadasha will be average for you, since Jupiter is debilitated in your Lagna. But from time to time you'll get the effect of Gaja Kesari Yoga during this period.

Saturn Mahadasha will take you to great heights, but it will come late in your life - beginning from 1/6/2040.

In the morning, light a ghee diya facing East. After invoking Ganesha, recite Hanuman Chalisa, Dashavatara Stotram followed by Shri Suktam from Rig Veda, Mahamaritunjaya Mantra 108 times followed by Devi Suktam from Rig Veda.

I too have Gaja Kesari Yoga in my chart. But I am of the opinion that due to week Moon (masked by Ketu), the Yoga strength has reduced significantly. Let me know your thoughts on this.

yes and besides that, your Gaja Kesari yoga is not of much use, because Moon is in 6th, aspecting 12th - it will help you in going abroad. The houses where Jupiter and Moon are placed also matter.

Moreover, here Jupiter is not aspecting Moon. When Jupiter aspects or is associated with Moon, Gaja Kesari Yoga gives a more powerful effect.

Yes, this line of business may be benefic for you. If you want to do business in agricultural products, recite the Purusha Suktam and Shri Suktam from Rig Veda in addition to the hymns suggested earlier. Light a ghee diya facing North-West while reciting the Mantras.

Offer lotus flower to Goddess Lakshmi on Mondays whenever it is possible, though it's not essential. You don't have to do it every Monday, but whenever you can.

With respect to Anu9's chart, I was under the impression that Ju and Mo have to be in mutual kendras to become Gaja Kesari Yoga. That part I was not totally sure.

Ju is debilitated but a part saving grace is that it is under the Nk of Moon which is exalted in fact close to its true exaltation point and is a kendra lord in a kona. It can provide a certain amount of control in dealing with the external world and potentially even give gains (which though I feel will be minimal). The tendency is of the person would be succumb to the easily give up the fight (3rd lord debilitated, Mars is debilitated and this also make a person passive aggressive).

Since Ju is the 12th Lord and will bring his 12th house nature the tendency is to be on the right side of things though. Now the 8th Lord's aspect on the 12th Lord in the Lagna will definitely create a tendency to spend time and effort on vedic studies.

I am looking only at the full aspects on Jupiter and limiting to those influences only. Even though the MD is that of Ju from 2024, the antardashas of Sa, Bu, Ke, Ve, Mo will be gainful to varying degrees. In general, with Ra being in the 4th house will kill mental peace.

Dear Anu,

Shanivat Rahu - meaning Rahu will behave like Shani. In other words, it is as though Sa is in the 4th house in your case. That is a position of debilitation for Saturn and hence he is unable to give you great results even though he is friendly to your Rasi chart. The Nk in which Ra is also owned by your Yogakaraka Ve who is situated in the house of a Friend even though it is the 6th house - a dusthana but also an upachaya. Put it succinctly, Ra is going to make you work really hard mentally before conferring actually good results overall. The answer is in your mind.

Sa AD is unaffected and should actually give great results of the 10th house generally the only catch being Ke (who is incidentally in Rahu's Nk) who will make you work (again in the realm of spirituality being in an Upachaya house) for the results. Put it simply, this is life of learning and growing. The good thing is that it is never horrible all the time and in fact even in tough things there is always a silver lining. The light in the end of the tunnel in NOT that of a train coming your way but actually good tidings.

At a high level your D10 is pretty good, there is the exchange of 4th and 10th lords (Ch and Sa), which will provide success but isn't again conducive to your internal peace of mind though. Ke is in the Lagna which is a little troublesome in that it takes away direction. The first Lord of D10 is in the 5th house - a great place to be at. Sun is debilitated in the 7th but does get Neechabhanga due to being with Sukra and in a quadrant from Lg and Moon. Overall your career should improve from Apr 2012. If you have more specifics that you want to share, I might be able to get to the bottom of it.

You are right that Anu9 doesn't have a classic Gaja Kesari Yoga. But Jupiter-Moon combination should give the same effect as a Gaja Kesari Yoga during Moon's periods.

I only have to add that her Rahu Mahadasha may influence more aspects than mental peace.

You are right in the the aspect of Jupiter on Moon will have an impact on Moon but I feel the results will be quite different from what is specific to Gaja Kesari Yoga and you are also right in that Ra MD will have impact on other things along with peace of mind for the 4th house signifies more than just mind and there is its aspect on the 10th house. Shaniwat Rahu will also come into play.

Anu9 - My point was not to say its all in the mind alone but prarabhda karma (as reflected in your chart) impacts your in two areas i.e. mind and physical environment. You cannot control the situations presented to you but you can exercise your free will in the mental realm that can alleviate a lot of the effects. I do submit that it is not easy but that is where the free will is.

Dear Saindhavi,

The real experts are the senior members in the forum. I typically go to the Yogas section of the board to get more information. This is basically my extended disclaimer as I am a learner.

This is my understanding of the GK Yoga and I looked at the definitions shown by Ghrineshwarji. The combination of Ju/Mo in mutual kendras actuates specific capabilities of the combination that results in GK yoga, the strength being a different matter altogether.

If they are not in mutual Kendras then they function as two friendly planets act when one aspects the other and in this case Ju being in Moon's Nk adds to it. In this case the when Ju MD comes into play, it will bring out the significations of a debilitated 12th/3rd Lord in the Lagna. The debilitation is somewhat desirable for the 12th Lord and being a functional malefic it is helpful. The debilitation of the 3rd Lord will affect 3rd Lord characteristics of Courage, Vitality etc. The nature of the impact will also be modified by the Nk Lord's characteristics i.e. how the native will perceive the 5th, 11th and 7th houses qualities mentally in the MD field of play.

Overall during the Ju MD - the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th house results are to be expected. The AD will modify these houses' effects in the field of AD Lords' operation i.e the bhavas they own. In short, the Ju, Mo behaviour would be just as how any MD/AD relationship would be and in this case they being trine to each other also helps. They will not behave as Yogakarakas in this case just 2 planets in MD/AD time.

you are absolutely right about Jupiter Mahadasha. But what about the Moon Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantar? Moon being exalted in 5th house and receiving at least some aspect from Jupiter should give effect similar to a Gaja Kesari Moon. What do you think?

That is an interesting line of thought. Has anyone you know experienced a Gaja Kesari Yoga like results in a similar chart? My initial thought is that in this chart, while Ju has an aspect on the Moon and Moon only has a partial aspect on Jupiter, they don't satisfy the GK yoga requirement. Ju and Moon have their karakatwas and ownerships and aspects which will all come to play and in this chart as I see that Moon being exalted would bring income from sources defined by one's spouse or one's spouse and very good character. Periods of Ju or Moon antardasha in a favorable transit will bring marriage. Exalted Moon's aspect on 11th could bring in timely wealth. I mean this combination by virtue of its functional and bhava ownership can bring about certain results similar to GK but not sure if that is due to GK.

The thing I am not sure is where will Ju or Moon bring about leadership outside of that defined by the Yoga itself. You can point to the Sun in Cancer but with Budha indicated a sharp and smart intellect but power. Do you have examples or experience where you have seen it?

The key here is it will not function as Gaja Kesari yoga but other mediocre/moderately good results albeit weak ones might still be felt.
