Does drinking water after sneezing removes bad luck?

I once saw ( obviously in TV ) that if a person while leaving the house sneezes or hears someone sneezing, then he/she drinks a glasss of water to ward off bad omen.
Is this really true?

If bad luck can be removed by this way than everybody will be happy and wealthy in this world.

Sneezeing once might be inauspicious. But is sneezing twice cancels the bad omen?
After sneeze, how long to wait b4 starting work? 5 minutes? 10, or 15 minutes?
