Hello All,
I have Ketu in my 9th house. Someone told me that Ketu in 9th leads one to spirituality during its dasha due to hardships?. I also have a Tapaswi Yoga and a Sadhu yoga in my chart (not sure if it means anything).
However, I am not very spiritual (not sure how it is defined). I am doing OK in my career, am well educated, and usually do well on a task that I set my mind to. Like learning English. Several months back, my grammar was all messed up. Today I can claim to be fluent.
I am interested a lot in occult.
Thanking all

Ketu in 9th will typically not make someone spiritual on a completely conscious level(unless the 9th lord is in the 3rd house or the 3rd lord is in the 9th house). Ketu sort of represents the headless attachment that most people aren't consciously aware of. Ketu typically represents what lies beneath... the true self underneath the identity. Ketu in the 9th represents a person that sort of speaks first, and never really thinks about what they say or believe on a completely conscious level; only how to express themselves... how to be heard. A kind of stability underneath their character in terms of what they believe in which they constantly attempt to express. They typically become agitated talking philosophy or spiritual talk. Typically confident and can be rather stubborn. This though depends very much on the rashi in which ketu and rahu occupy.
Ketu causes disconnection. It is kind of like no boundary connection to where-ever it is placed. With Ketu in the 9th the person tries to stay away from outside influence. The native is usually confident in what he believes and why he believes it. He usually doesn't even give much thought to what he believes, and how he believes. He is concerned with only how to express himself. Ketu in 9th typically makes the person into a kind of model of some ideology(in which they may not even realize that they hold). Rahu in the 3rd typically gives the mentality of wanting to invigorate people; wanting to rally people around him. Rahu heightens propaganda, and litigation. Often natural born leaders if in the right rashi.
Good day,
All things being equal I have my reservations if Ketu in the 9th in Capricorn can give Pure Spirituality. Rahu get's the 3rd house and he aspects the 9th. Rahu in the 3rd drives a person to crave for achievement. Rahu is a materialistic man / all things being equal. This is why pure spirituality is out of the question. By pure spirituality I mean, Giving up all worldly pleasures, Physical pleasures, and Family, seek a ashram and contemplate on the lord. This combination (3/9) cannot give the native such a pure drive. I will go to the extent of saying that mundane spirituality will also be out of the question given the fact that Ketu is in Makara. This is why Guru falls there. It's is the 10th house in the natural Zodiac. I dont see how spirituality can be sustained here.
best regards

Through hard work and spiritual practices, a person gets honor and dignity. The lazy one who puts in no efforts is like a fool who allows salt to be spilled on the wounds of his misfortunes. The idler depending only on fate, achieves nothing. - K.N.Rao ji

Dear Deepak,
One of the great yogis from the nava nadha sampradhaya,Baba Goraknaath has written in one of his texts that the conjunction of jupiter sun and ketu in the 9th house is a great gnyaana yoga for any lagna. though he has no astrological work to his credit , he just gives a few tips on combinations here and there.

Thanks for that Info sir
. Really wonder where you get this kind of knowledge from. In this case however, the 9th lord is debilitated in the navamsha and Ravi is debilitated in the 6th. Guru is in Ravi's Nakshatra .

See Deepak.
I became handsome only after reading your posts about nakshatras. See rahu/Ketu are shadowy and so can be dealt with later. After reading your thread on nakshatras, I discounted my moon. Out of the 6 remaining planets 2 are combust & dead. That means in reality only 4 planets and a full free zodiac. So, a happy person naturally becomes handsome. But, the sage part actually it was a blessing from chaks.
Regards,
Ramanan

Sir, you are a lucky man indeed . Out of the 4 that you say are fit to operate, one is exalted, the other is in his own house, one is in a trine and the other is in a friendly sign. What more can you ask for ? No wonder you never lose your cool and are always in a exalted state .

Dear chaks,
He is yet to write about uttaratadhi & Revathi. For the entire zodiac to be free, I may have to wait for a few more days.

Ramanan
Dear Deepak,
One more dictum from the same sage (Goraknath). If all planets are placed between Mars & Saturn in clockwise direction then the native takes to sanyasa during the last days of his life.
Chaks has this combination.

Dear Deepak,
I had no idea as to what you will write about Poorvabadrapada. But when you wrote Aswini, I understood what was to follow.

And sir, even if you find that I have trashed all the nakshatras, I am not going to write about Revati. I have a soft corner for that Nakshatra.
. So you can be rest assured that your Guru is in the best Nakshatra possible . I hold Revati with the highest of regards. It can never go wrong.

Chaks,
Even the last one day is sufficient. Why waste a day?

Note that Guru aspects Ketu in 9th. Surya is debilitated in 6th. Debilitation of planets in 6th is desired. 6th lord is also debilitated. Lord Shani is debilitated in D9, but he is a rajayoga karaka for this lagna. Also consider the conjunction of guru, shukra, and shani in a trine. Need to consider these pointers as well.

Ramanan ji,
Gorakshanath is one of the greatest yogis of the Nath Panthi sampraday. This group is closely related to the Naga Sampraday. He is credited with refining the system of Hathayoga and Kriya yoga. He is also either the inventor or the refiner of some secret chakras of astrology which give deadly accurate results. But unfortunately such knowledge is jealously guarded by the different yogi sampradays and never disclosed. So if Gorakshanath says something it needs to be treated with utmost seriousness, whether he has written any book on astrology or not.
Gorakshanath is said to be the disciple of the Supreme yogi Matsyendranath, the founder of the Shaiva Nath Panthi sampraday. He was an elder contemporary of Adi Shankaracharya. Matsyendranath had close links with the Maha Peeth of Kamakshya in Assam although main sojourns were in the plains and mountains of UP, Punjab and Nepal.
Could you pl give the name of Gorakshanath's book?
