Planets in the 8th always obstruct and their lordships suffer as a result...So u r right to a certain extent..in ur chart u have 3 planets -Jupiter ,Venus and Mars in the 8th house and presence of Asc lord Mars in the 8th is not good as it weakens the chart But since mars is also 6th lord it gives rise to VRY..U r actually running the mahadasha of mars since 2005...how has it been overall ?

Jupiter is L2/L5 and bth 5th house a powerful trinal house and 2nd house of income/family suffers..Venus is L7/L12 in 8th ..7th is the house of relationships and marriage and could have resulted in delaying ur marriage

Thank you for taking time to read my post and for your insight.

The MD of Mars has been good and bad. Good because I received scholarship to support my doctoral studies abroad (which i completed in 2009) and bad because I did not have enough money at the end of the day and had to deal with several problems as well as enemies. So Mars MD has been been pretty trying.

Yes you are right about delayed marriage.

While 8th house is always bad, in my chart, i have moon in my second house and the three planets (mars, jup and ven) are located in 7th and sun and mer 8th from the moon. This combination gives rise to several yogas (as far as i can understand, e.g. D1 & D5 together, Jup in kendra from moon, VRY as you mentioned and so on). I always wonder if such yogas could benefit me despite the three planets being located in 8th house?

I have been told that coming Rahu MD should be good but I do not understand why?

Thanks on the feedback...Rahu is supposed to do well in upachaya houses- 3,6,10,11 and i ur chart he is in the 6th so will do well over the course of time...6th is also a dusthana but planets in the 6th give results gradually and improve steadilty..So rahu MD may see steady results -better in the 2nd half compared to the 1st..Rahu and ketu give results of their Nakshatra and sign lords -in ur case ASc lord Mars ..When did u get married (if u dont mind me asking) ?
