inter-caste marriage vs. marriage with a foreigner

Hi astrologer frnds,
Iam not new to this forum but I was away from the forum since more than a yr due to personal reasons and as I forgot my user ID so I hav again come back with a new user ID.I have recently been going through topics on types of marriages and relationships and Iam a bit confused. In one place I read that if Rahu is in 6th or 12th h from asc In D1 or D9 chart then a person marries a foreigner but in other place it was written that if rahu is in 7th h in D1 or D9 chart then a person has intercaste marriage, now isn't marrying a foreigner an intercaste marriage? or are these two different. One more thing, astrologers relate intercaste marriage with love marriage but Chandragupta was married to salyukus' daughter, she was a foreigner and it was not a love marriage, so where shuld Chandragupta's rahu be placed, in 7th or in 6th or 12th and wht other combinations he might be having?

Your Rahu-Ketu are alright. In fact, they give you good results. Your main problem is Mars, which is aspecting your Venus and also 7th house.

This makes you a Mangalik and hence, you should choose your partner carefully.

You are running Jupiter-Venus now, which will continue till 5th Jan 2012. This should be the marriage period for you, if Mars wouldn't be causing problems.

Besides, in Gochar, Ketu is adversely placed in your 2nd house, where it will remain till December next year.

Recite Ganesha Atharvashirsha and Shri Suktm from Rig Veda daily. Recite Hanuman Chalisa daily. Pray to Lord Vishnu daily.

Feed stray dogs and saints and mystics regularly.

you can't have a love marriage. Match charts for Mangalik condition before marriage.

So if u have checked my chart i have 6th rahu and 12 ketu from Asc. so will this be possible for me to get married abroad ???

Dear Astrolady,

To answer you categorically.

Intercaste marriage:

Rahu in the 7th H is not very important. Lots of traditional arranged marriages happen with Rahu in 7th. For intercaste see if Rahu has any connection with the 7th Lord. Also check if Rahu has any connection with the 7th H from Moon or the 7th L from moon. Also check if Rahu is in the Nk of these planets or these planets are in Rahu's Nk.

Marriage with a foreigner:

This is much more tricky. Rahu must have connection with both the 7th L and the 9th L. Especially if Rahu in the Nk of the 9th L.

The same condition if satisfied from both Lg and Moon, the case becomes stronger.

In a woman's chart Rahu must have connection with Jup. In a man's chart Rahu must have connection with Mars.

I am testing these combinations, most cases have returned positive. Test them yourself and see if it works. For marriage with foreigner, I am yet to figure out the Navamsha connection.

The same condition if satisfied from both Lg and Moon, the case becomes stronger.

In a woman's chart Rahu must have connection with Jup. In a man's chart Rahu must have connection with Mars.

I am testing these combinations, most cases have returned positive. Test them yourself and see if it works. For marriage with foreigner, I am yet to figure out the Navamsha connection.

I can testify this. I have Rahu in 12th in conjunction with my 7L (Jupiter). I married a foreigner away from my place of birth. But I still feel for its frutification it needs a trigger of 7L or Ra MD/AD. My navamsa does not support an intercaste or an unconventional marriage and my astakvarga score of 7th house is relatively low... so I believe Ra in 12th in its MD was a major player here more than 7L. 12th house also stands for foreign and forbidden places. For some reason, I have not seen this happening with Rahu in 6th... I have seen a couple of such natives having conventional marriages even if they matched the above-mentioned criteria.

For a moment you got me worried there. Maybe I should have been more elaborate in my explanation.

For you things will slightly improve after Nov 15th 2011. Things will change for better after middle of Aug 2012.

that is exactly wht I want to know that if Ra is in 12th h and it has no connection with 9th L or NK and no connection with 7th L or Nk but it is combined with mars and lord of 7th house is in 9th house thn will it give foreign marriage? and this is wht I read somewhere.
According to me Rahu plays a very vital role in the unconventional marriages, particularly that of Marriage with Foreigners.. In personal affairs, things like Foreign Travel, fluency in foreign languages and just about everything to do with Foreign is signified or attributed to Rahu. Though Saturn is also considered to play such role, it Rahu which is mainly responsible for such activities

Hence, the following combination and placement of Planets will render a native to marry a Foreigner

1. Placement of Rahu either in the 12th or 6th house to the ascendant either in D1, D7, D9 charts
2. Placement of Rahu in the constellation of Rahu in the 12th or 6th house in either of the charts mentioned above
3. Placement of Rahu in the asterism of 7th lord while being placed in 12th and 6th house
4. Placement of 7th lord in the constellation of Rahu in either of 3 charts
5. Placement of 7th lord (either from Ascendant or Moon) in Scorpio where Rahu is exalted or Aquarius which is considered to be own house of Rahu, together with any of combination mentioned in 1, 2, and 3 above.
6. 12th Lord either from Moon or Ascendant placed in the constellation of Rahu
7. Kalatrakaraka Venus either placed along with or aspected by Rahu or in dwadamsa to each other in Navamsa

The timing of such marriage normally has lot to do with Rahu, either, it takes place during the Main period of Rahu, Bhukthi or antharam of Rahu in the Main period of the 7th Lord.

As per my calculations you are Leo Lagna. I use Chitrapaksha Ayanamsha (Lahiri) as it is the most accurate. The Govt of India did not adopt it as the official Ayanamsha for the Rashtriya Panchang for nothing.

The question was what gives marriage to a foreigner. Kindly note the 3 pointers that I have detailed to meet this condition. Your chart meets all three. They are listed as below:

1) Rahu is in the 1/7 axis and Rahu is with the 9th L Mars. (I have said 7th L and 9th L, but 7th H and 9th H also taken)

2) Rahu is with the 9th L from Moon - Jup.

3) Rahu is with Jup, the Karak for husband in a woman's chart. If you are a man, then too Rahu is with Mars, the karak for wife in a man's chart.

The idea of Rahu in the 12th H and connected with either the 7th H or 7th L, will give marriage to a foreigner appears to be erraneous. Nowhere it is written that 12th H is anyway connected to marriage. 12th being 6th to 7th may indicate an end to or disruption in marriage, but certainly not the beginning.

The following Hs are the only ones taken for marriage or pairing. 1/7 axis, 4/10 axis (4th is 10th fr 7th and 10th is 4th fr 7th i.e sukhabhava from 7th), 8th (conjugal life and spouses family) 9th (Dharma and fortune - bhagya).

In this context it may be noted that the conditions for marriage to a foreigner may also indicate marriage to person of a different faith, who may or may not be technically a foreigner. The key pointer is the connection of Rahu (karak for anything foreign and also disruptions) with the 9th H or 9th L (ones native culture and Dharma - faith).

Hope this clarifies. Kindly test it on the charts you have and see if it works.

Dear Astrolady,

Pl refer the above post. And Rahu is debilitated in Scorpio and exalted in Taurus (according to both Parashar and Uttarakalamrita). Moreover, the 12th H or the 12th L has nothing to do with giving marriage.

12th ususally refers to foreign journey or foreign settlement or foreign trade. It does not indicate marriage with a foreigner.

Think it logically, one may marry a foreigner. But that foreigner may easily be settled in one's native country. Like an American lady marrying an Indian who went to work or study in the US and settled there.

The key element is Rahu (karak for foreigner) and not 12th H or 12th L (foreign places).

Kindly test the parameters I have given in the prev post and see if they work.

Dear Astrolady,

Every H in the zodiac represents many things. 9th H represents Dharma. among many other things. It also represents long journeys. In earlier days 9th H used to be read for teerth-yatra or pilgrimages, which were usually long and ardous journeys. Often dangerous too.

9th H per se does not have anything to do with foreign. Only Rahu's connection with the 9th H or 9th L can bring the foreign element. As Rahu is the Karak for foreign and foreigners (among many many other things). So Rahu and 9th H and 9th L can be interpreted as something to do with a foreigner/foreign faith/foreign idea, etc. And mind it, this is only one of the possible interpretations.

In spiritual astrology, a bad Rahu connected with 9th can mean deviation from faith, while a good Rahu can mean new insights, breakthrough in sadhana, pilgrimages and dips in holy rivers.

For connection with a foreign land it is usually 12th H and the 3rd H (3rd is 12th to 4th, 4th H is taken as ones native land).

If you want to know these things I would suggest that you go through the classics first, rather than internet articles of various self proclaimed pandits. Sometimes these give good info, sometimes absolute rubbish.

Search for the pdf copy of a book called Uttarakalamrita by Kalidasa (this is not the poet Kalidas). This book written most probably in the 13th century gives an exhaustive list of the karaktatwas of diff planets, and what is to be read from what House.
