I have a question about the planet strength. You had mentioned in one of your previous replies that a planet will fructify overall in it's MDs and ADs depending on it's strength in the group of higher charts. But let us consider a corner case- a planet is VARGOTTAMA and in a friendly house in D1 and most of the higher charts (say Jupiter in Aries in D1 and other higher charts) but has zero amsabala (since it is does not move to any other house). In that case do we consider the planet to be weak or will the VARGOTTAMA factor override?

i presume you are taking about D1 and D9
Vargottama does not count towards amasabala in higher divisonal charts.
however Vargottama means there is an alignment / harmony between the phsyical purposes and spiritual / karmik purposes of the native w.r.t the planet in Vargottama.

Jupiter in Vargottama for example..... will give the native more wisdom, principles, knowldge based considerate approach to figh the adversities in life.
Doesn't mean he will be highly successful materially....but he will be purposeful, happy and will show strong will power in carrying out those actions.

High amsabala = guaranteed good results
Vargottama = purposeful, happy, intellectual,energetic in fighting the fight

Vargottama is looked upon between pairsof chats
Vargottama makes the planet stronger in a diffrent way from amasabala........alignment between life purposes of the Rasi chart ( material existence) and the higher chart say ( D10) for career.

--and Ma the 4th and 5th lord (hence YK) in a Rajyoga with the 9th lord Jup

--Althoug Mars and Jup are both rendred some-what weak becaise of slightly innimical placement in the house of Me.

--Affects Mars more then it does Jup...but Ma is a YK hence compensates. Overall a weak Rajayoga foremd which is a bonus as 5/9 periods are meant to be fortunate anyway. In your case, they are in a rajyoga.

there is some time still Mars-Jup and also Mars-sun periods should be good.

What if someone borns in 5-9th period of navmansha. For instance, My wife's birth is In moon-mars dasa, in rashi chart it is the 3rd and 7th, 12th lord respectively. But in navmansha it is the 5th and 9th lord. So Is it good or bad?

--Shani is friendly in house of Me, but tainted because of sitting in the 6th.

-- Me is in a friendly house of Venus and in exchange youga with Venus so the 5-9 lords are in in exchange, empowering both planets.

hence you had good fortunes with respect to career in Venus A given that Ve rules your 10th house also.

--Me shani will also be good...as bothe Me and shani are well placed.

--Ketu MD will bring 5th house significations of luck and good fortune...because Ket is conjunct witha benefic Me...and acts like a more rational / balanced version of Mecrury...especially given that it is sitting in the Nk of exalted sun, will mean rise in status and position at work place

though with the positve Ket always brings, some realtionships issues in love life or with children in your case....but not much though.

--Venus Anatars are a minor reflection of what big Venus MD will be like

I am born under Kanya lagan. Saturn is the lord of 5th & 6th House. Venus is the lord of 9th house and positioned in own house.

I am currently running Venus Mahadasha - Saturn Antardasha. This has been the worst period of my life. My Saturn is in 2nd House Libra.

In connection to your analysis I have Jupiter in 5th house. Venus - Jupiter period was perhaps one of the best in my life so far.

One problem in the chart is that my Saturn is in 6th house from Venus i.e. Khadasthak which is definitely a bad period.

I do see 5th-9th house period as good under normal circumstances but with some exceptions like in my case it is the worst period.

how is Ketu acting in yuor chart?
primariy like Mercury....throuhg conjunction with a strong Me.

Me rules 6th (hosue of services ) and 9th ( house of foreign travels and long term overseas stays).

so if you were over seas in Me period.....don't expect that to change.

Ketu secondarily acts like the onwer of Nakshtra that he is seated in.....i.e sun...whihc is exalted in the 4th house...whihc signifies home / roots/ homeland...and it is not under the impact of 9th / 12th Lords or Rahu or moon....i. the various foreign connections n the chart

so the secondary influences will pull back towards homeland and the primary oen to keep you where you are.....given that you are alread overseas and have been in Me periods....I think primary forces will be predominat and you will stay on if you want to.

Normally Ketu does not promote enterprise....it bottles down the native even when positive and adds caution/ control / discipline type factors making it difficult for the native to break free.
Less so is your case because Ket is under the influence of Me throuhg conjunction.....but still the basic trait of Ketu is not lost.

Ketu is a good period for sadhna, prayers, spirituality, occultism....because it will put a general umbrela of detachment on the native from material things.

establish a Ketu yantra, do Ketu mantras in cycles of 108 and Ketu pujan regularly...will help in religious and spiritual pursuits duirng the Ketu dasa

Sun's overall strength is is reasonable with an amasa=3 in dasavarga charts...is what counts....when looking at the overall impact of Sun in your life

1) Suppose Rahu OR SAT are strong in a chart. Hence they give positive significations of their nature
as well as houses they own. At the same time a bebefic like Venus or JUP is weak...hence they radiate
more of its negative points.... In this case, if this VEN or JUP closley aspects strong positive Rahu or SAT.
Then why it is not termed as strong positive Rahu or SAT is afflicted (diluted say) by weak VEN or JUP?
(Say a weak JUP makes a person more immoral than strong Rahu or SAT)...
(this question may be repeat but with slight difference, nevertheless, a clear clarification is required).

It is just not the karkatwa....or basic charcteristic of Jup, Ve and Moon to afflict others

2) I have read in some books that planets give results only at certain age of a person.. like say SUN
at young age or SAT at age of 35 (only example, many not be correct number) etc.. Is this correct?

If so, suppose some one gets strong (say exalted) SUN's period but the age at which it gives results
may not match... then in that SUN's period no great results may be felt by the native....

I have also read the age based results of planets...and have found the following in my experience:

--Karmik justice dispensation planest are more severe on younger natives and relent with age esepcially if the native has shown realization and good behaviour.
--this includes Shani and Ketu primarily whose punishment will be less severe once the native is past 40s, if badly placed and rewards more handsome if well placed. We know Ketu the Moksha karak is the planet driectly denoting your past life Paap & Punay and that shani is the designated punisher for Karmik debts.
--Ketu and shani will hit very severely in the prime of youth and take away ( or make extremely hard to get and enjoy) what youth desires badly...i.e sex, marital relationships, conception, bearing children, hedonistic and self indulgent pleasures. And by the time they relent...the prime age for these activities is gone



3) What are the circumstances at which.... Parashara's exception that debilitated 3,6,8 lords or planets debilitated in 3,6,8 gives Rajayoga?..... works?

For the want of time and not yet complete research and reading I have not been able to do a thread on debilittaion.

I don't think debilitaion EVER gives rajyoga inspite of cancellations and inspite of where the debilitated planets are placed and inpsite of the houses they lord.
The various dictums have to be interpreted in context.
I will park this subject and come back to it later, when I have more refrences and cases studies.

While Rasi is the chart for material / physical gains......Navamsa is the chart of happiness at the mental plane.

for example...Houses 5 is Rasi would denote creativity/ intellect as recognized by the world, success in romance, material gains throuhg good fortune, ability to learn spiritual vidyas/ mantras and upasana

House 5 in Navamsa denotes.....mental satisfaction & happiness which ones gets from his creative pursuits, happiness that romantic relations bring, spiritual benefits from the practise of vidyas and gains.

so you can see that Navamsa is all about happiness and spiritual satisfaction, while Rasi is about material gains.

In our karmik approach and rebirth based existense...for that reason navamsa is given so much importance in our sciptures...as our scriptures put much more weightage on spiritual happiness over material gains.

However in terms of the questions that most natives ask...about job , promotion, timing of marriage and children etc.....navamsa has relatively less relevance..
To answer your question now......a 5-9 period of birth from Navamsa would mean a period of joy from a mental happiness point of view.

Overall what I have gathered is that starting with my Me Dasha through Ke and then finally Ve Dasha it is primarily going to be like a 9 MD, modified 9th MD with 5th house significations (due to Ke) and then 5/10 MD during Ve dasha. Jupiter(5L)- moon(9L) dasha was the turning point of my life. More than bringing about any fortune, it brought about a complete change in my personality for good- from being a very shy person, I became more expressive, socialising and confident person.

One interesting thing I want to tell you is that I was born in Venus - Sat dasha. Venus being placed in 5th house and Sat in 9th house. My mum says that my birth brought fortune and luxury for our family. Also I believe that I have been very fortunate in life whether its love, education, friends, money... and most importantly, the satisfaction of being happy with what I had, even if little, that has made the experience more fulfulling for me.

I see that your Venus is in Libra but it is Vakri.....Venus is also in Gopuramasa....and what is more venus is a yogakaraka for you......Yet you maintain you whole dasa was bad and even you venus and mercury bhuktis were challenging....so see we are not sure how vakri will operate....you are the best judge for yourself....many people in many forums emphasize that an exalted planet but vakri give debilitated effect.....I feel all should study your chart and give their feedback....I see no blemish on your venus except the third house aspect of Saturn...But in your case even that is not a blemish because saturn is your lagnadipati so will only do good for you....please give me your feedback on your Sun and Mars subdasas....I feel they may be good for you....now you are running sun dasa since 2006....how had been this phase....No doubt your guru is exalted but is with moon in the sixth house so sixth house is very very strong.....and you know what is sixth house....so that explains your enemies and obstacles and struggles.....I would like to see others views about your venus....we can get better clarity on vakri planets.

I have a feeling that Venus being badhakesha in your chart did not give you the desired results.There are people who feel badhakesha is an exaggerated concept but yours could be one of the few cases where badhakesha plays spoil sport. Badhakesha being retro is complicating matters further.

After I posted I noticed that Mo your chara AK is in gandanta, this is not a good thing to have. This indicates that the soul has to undergo some suffering in this life.

great astrologer kn rao once said that the mahadasa of sixth lord would be full of bad health and difficulties. during my jupiter phase , i had a bad life in terms of marriage .jupiter was the lord of ninth house and twelfth house. but soon saturn dasa started and everything changed and life became good again. after five years my mercury dasa is going to begin. mercury is the lord of sixth house and is exalted in sixth house. i fear for my health. it is also involved in VRY. i presume that this dasa wil be not troublesome. mercury is aspected by jupiter from twelfth house which is the ruler of ninth house. will this aspect from ninth lord improve the scenario.my birth details are 18 sep 1975,7:35pm,(85E13,25N37).would you give a look to my chart.
