Having a tough time figuring on what my next move should be. I could either go back to college (I have a B.S. degree), start my own business, or find a new job (I am unemployed). Tried to analyze my D24, D10 and of course Rasi. DOB 20/9/1974 Syracuse, NY, USA at 12:01:30pm. D/B =Ketu/Venus, in D10, L10 in 8th but I am a scientist (I love research) and analyze the majority of my life. In D24, JuRx in ascendant with Moon and it's true that elementary school was a breeze. College was harder, but I don't feel I really tried either. Anyhow, my question is which way should I go?

Your chart shows you're probably much more ahead in knowledge of astrology than I am....and are likely looking for sounding off what you can already see! Let me help, if that is the case!
For business, 9th being in deb in Lagna just means you'd run out of luck when you need it the most. With Rahu also deb.....let me put it this way, if this chart were mine and given what little I know of astrology, I'd very very cagey of getting into business. I know 9th also has higher education significations, as I am sure you'd know too....so not I am clear what that means if you're talking of getting back to school...?-) You know better...
Given your ascendant Scorpio and JUP being in Shatabisha, I'd guess you're into some chemicals / explosives type of industry/ research. Shatabisa itself can also give one a career in the heavens - astronomy, space, etc, but Scorpio is more towards chemicals [ it is after all "poison"!].
Did you lose your job around 2/20/2011? This is when youe ketu MD started. If so, I guess it will take a few more months to get another job. Other than chemicals / poisions, you'd be very good in math, or perhaps even have some part time qualification in accounting. If a job in your primary field of interest is hard, have you considered falling on your backup skills? Math - accounting / statistics etc. Maybe at a broker or investment banker, if you have the qualification for it? Your 11th is packed with such numerical related skills which give you gains!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my post. I was a chemist/microbiologist, then I got into EEG and sleep medicine. But recently, my lab has been closed and I don't know which way to go from here. Yes my position was terminated March 4th. How did you get my Ketu dasa beginning on 2/20/11? I thought it had started 8/17/2010, but this seems more accurate due to my job loss at that time. What options did you use for calculation of dasas? As for knowing alot about astrology, I know Western Astrology and am very new to Vedic (but I prefer Vedic).
I am very good at math and accounting, but I don't have a degree in that and it is difficult to get a job doing that without a degree. I love research and have devoted a good share of my life to that, or analyzing people- people fascinate me. I have a friend that is doing surgical neurophysiology and I have been trying to get a job where she works. I don't know how to read a vedic chart for the start of a new position. I have read that it is the 5th house that needs to be active for starting a new job, but there is nothing transiting that house. So I am lost again.

Since your moon was deb, I decided to take another point as start / reference for Dasha system, hence used Lagna sphuta - long of lagna. Moon vimshottari is good for most cases, but I think Moon is reflection of reality or what the mind perceives and Lagna is the actual or physical reality. In your case, due to Moon being deb and weakened, I decided to use Lagna as reference. Per that your Ketu starts 2/20.
Certainly, 5th can help start a new position, but the 10th, 6th, 2nd, Lagna too can do that. Check out for transits across those houses, or those lords. But those will come into play depending on the current Maha Dasha / Anter dasha.

That's very interesting that you used lagna because the moon is debilitated. This is why I love Vedic, so many rules are based on the individual and their planets. I am sitting here trying to figure out how soon I might have a job. I have Jupiter transiting my 6th house right now. Maybe something will pan out with the surgical neuro job. I am hopeful.
