Dear all,
As of planetary strength, when it comes to determining friendship and enmity between planets, I wonder if it is I who am not able to grasp this point correctly, or is this a mistake in Jyotish books that cause confusion. I am going to give examples from two successful books that many of you most probably have:
1- Astrology of Seers, by David Frawley (p 107):here Jupiter is described as being a natural neutral to Mercury, While Jupiter is inimical toward Mercury.
2- Light on Life, Hart de Fouw, Robert Svoboda (p 64): here Saturn is described as neutral to Mercury, while Saturn is friendly toward Mercury.
As far as I have understood from the tables of friendship and enmity, the planets in each row that fall under a category, show the feeling that the planet on the left column has toward them. For example, in the case of Mercury, we see Moon in the enemy column in front of it. There is only one way to interpret this: Mercury is inimical toward Moon, not vice versa. Otherwise, Moon could have inimical feelings while we know Moon does not "hate" any planet, so to speak. How come, therefore, the books interpret this relationship in reverse?
Would dear experienced friends shed some light on this?
Thanks,
Dhanvanta
Is this a mistake in Jyotish books?

This is how i see it. You look at Mercury just the name feel's like a social happy individual. Now you see the Sun, Courage, loved by all,the "Cool" guy now you put these together and whats that make? A lovable social individual who's courage's and cool lol
Now you have Mercury+Moon even tho in first sight you might think their friendly with eachother their really not Moon thinks Mercury is stupid and dislike's his way''s.
Now Mercury+Venus Venus loves anything beautiful and happy. Example Jupiter dislike's Venus because most likely he's jealous Venus doesn't understand so its Neutral towards him. Mercury is Positive and so is Venus so they Compliment each other.
I can go on and on this is just the way i feel toward's the relationships with them and my imagination had to come out because iv'e been thinking of this for a while now XD but one also need's to know what the planets stand for and ect.. im thinking of actually making a threat full of my imaginations : )
