The Greatness of Shani

Finally, my order of "The Greatness of Saturn" arrived. I had to read it end to end yesterday and finished it late night!

Robert Svoboda has painted the myths on such a broad canvas of time, space and characters - all planets, Rishis, apsaras, gandharvas....surely Harold Robins or Jeffrey Archer can learn quite a lot here.

And compared to those planetary dudes, we humans come out looking like innocent kindergarten kids! Oh, boy - no one is is behind in their deeds, whether its moon, Venus, or even Jupiter.

Anyway, this book has the key story of how king Vikramaditya lost his kingdom and became a cripple working on daily labor, thanks to Shani. At the end though, he gets back his kingdom. He also gets the girl. Well actually girls! And he suffered, so we may not. Interesting Christian thought here.

In this book, we truly see how powerful Shani is - he spares no one, not Lord Shiva, not Ganesh, not Bhagwan Ram, not Krishna, not ravana, not his father, not his preceptor, NO ONE.
But the books also portrays a lesser known side of Shani. He is merciful.


Make no mistake. You HAVE to pay your credit card bills. But Shani does make allowance and waives off the interest and in some cases, part of the principal. IF he is propitiated, with humility and sincerity. Arrogance and no faith, and Shani has his gaze on you....no one can save you, not even GOD. You see instances of this facet of his character in the book.

The book also has a section on how to appease Shani, and other gods. Shani CAN be appeased and he will reduce your payback. Just be humble and have faith and pray to Lord Shani and he will show mercy.

One of the best books I have read Arunsg . Every astrologer must understand Mythology first . There is no point in learning astrology with out knowing how the planets came into existance .
