Hi Learned Members

I am just analysing my own chart to see how come I get so many insights in astrology (with due respect to classics of course!). Besides the Bhava Vargottam of Jupiter in the 8th Bhava of Rasi and Navamsa with Jupiter in Pisces in Navamsa and Jupiter exalted in Aquarius in Rasi in Pushkara Bhaga in Rasi chart, the other main factor is the high Shadbala of Mercury and Mercury's placement in D-24.

Merucury is the karaka for occult knowledge in D-24 (rote learning and Buddhi as well) and sits on my Ascendant in D-24 in a congenial sign Libra. Venus the dispositor is in Aires looking into the Lagna.

The 10th Bhava of D-24 deals with work in learning ie. contributions to society while learning and is ruled by the Moon which is exalted in the 8th Bhava the house of first principles of Astrology. So it supports the energy of Mercury well placed in the 1st.

The Sun rules general knowledge and sits in the 4th Bhava of traditonal foundational knowledge and rules the 11th Bhava in D-24 for gains in learning. Mercury is well supposrted by Sun.

Saturn is the Yogakara ruling the 4th and 5th Bhavas of D-24 and Saturn is the great knowledge inscriber. it sits on the 11th Bhava of D-24 for detailed expository of the knowledge gained and makes a forward sextile to my Mercury in Lagna of D-24. This asepct denotes effort in making practical gains.

Mars in the 6th Bhava rules the 2nd and 7th Bhava of D-24. 2nd has to do with knowledge through acquiring by the senses continuously and the 7th Bhava has something to do with higher knowledge being the 11th to the 9th and also see Shilpa's post on doctorate, masters etc. education under Planets, Signs and Nakshatras. Being placed in the 6th, it ensures logic and accuracy and fully aspects my Mercury in Lagna in D-24 again.

Jupiter rules two Dusthanas in D-24 that of learning through writing (3rd Bhava) and disposits Mars (which softens Mars hard drilling stance which can sometimes miss the finer points while learning). But Jupiter does not aspect Mercury being placed in the 2nd Bhava. This is good as it helps to keep the Dusthana effects at bay but at the same time still giving close support to Mercury being in the 2nd to Mercury's Ascendant placement in D-24.

Hi

By the way my Jupiter is a trinal lord both in Rasi and Navamsa on top of being in the 8th Bhava Vargottam and well placed by signs as explained above. This is another factor.

Hi

Now we know that my chart Mercury and Saturn is at planetary war because in terms of declination, they are within 1 degree in absolute difference.

But Mercury being more northerly wins the war.

So in terms of Shadbala, my Mercury is originally 663 and my Saturn is 429. Take the difference between them which is 234. Add this difference in Shadbala to Mercury which gives Mercury a 897.

Saturn in turn loses that corresponding quantum of Shadbala and that gives my Saturn a 195.

Hi

The resultant low Shadbala value of Saturn as a result of the planetary war with Mercury has made me know no limits in pursuing Mercury things like reading, astrology, quizzes, competitive TV shows like word games etc.

Hi

By the way my Mercury is in the non-planetary lord division of Vrishadhvaja in D-24.

Vrishadhvaja may refer to Siva, who rides on his bull, Nandi. He is the lord of the spirits and
the mystic perfections. So planets in his divisions may make one a talented magician or
Tantrik. Thus astrology as well.
