It is a paath done by brahmins to appease Rudra devaru. It is quite a big paath with one brahmin reciting and yourself will have to continuously give Milk abhisheka to shiva linga while this is being done. Lasts for nearly 4-6 hours, finished by a homam in the end. It will give you much needed empowerment in overcoming powerful people in politics. Your work related prospects will improve and enemies will suffer at your hands.

This is owing to Moon in Lagna along with Ketu and opposite to Rahu and Mars, indicating Lord Shiva will protect you from all the malefic influences, if you appease him. Also 12th to AK Mercury in Navamsa is debiliated moon. This worship will strengthen it and appease your Ishta devata.

According to Varahamihira the Ascendant for Mumbai is Leo. Libra and Capricorn also represent some parts of India. But when the rising Sign is taken as a whole for the entire country then it is Virgo only.

When I said malefics in the 11th I meant for Virgo Lagna as there are a conglomeration of planets in the Independence chart.

Technically there will be no chart for the most ancient country in the world.

We use Virgo Lagna just for a reference.

Dear Ramanan,

I am not sure if we can take any lagna for the country. Because it is the time when the Lord uplifts the Prithvi from under water that the populating of the land takes place. It is the same for entire earth.

Rest all are muhuratha charts. Like Independence day, Republic day etc. IMO, for a country, it should only be the annual charts that can describe the state of affairs accurately.

I stand to be corrected though. More comments are welcome.

What you say makes sense. But on what basis Varahamihira gave the lagnas of Different countries in Brihat Jataka is not known. Maybe the geographical position.

But with this as a base professor B. Surya Narayan Rao has predicted lot of world events which subsequently came true.

Dear Friends,
What is the difference between Graha Arudha and Arudha padas ? In the interest of time, I am aware of A5, A10 etc which are calculated for AL. But then what is Graha Arudha ?? Jhora shows special Graha arudha view which shows different calculations for planets as L1, L2 etc.
Curious about differences and where the two concepts are used.

Arudha literally means the Rising .It demonstrates those aspects related to that particular bhava or lord which can be perceived by our physical senses...to understand this we have to understand the following:-

BHAVA,BHAVA-ADHIPATI,BHAVA–ARUDHA,BHAVA–ADHPATI–ARUDHA

•BHAVA : It represents The Circumstances...The Environment...The intangible aspect of life which the concerned bhava represents
•BHAVA–ADHIPATI :It represents The Conscience...The Intelligence...That drives the Concerned Bhava

The above two represents the subtle aspects ...The SATYA,something which can be felt but not measured

•BHAVA–ARUDHA:This is the Tangible Manifestation of the Circumstances,The Environment implied by the bhava .But this is still life less because this has no intelligence associated with it .
•BHAVA –ADHIPATI –ARUDHA : This is the Tangible manifestation of the intelligence driving the matters related to the concerned Bhava

The above two represents...the MAYA associated with the aspect of life which is under consideration
