Don't form your opinions of the army based on media reports. That sort of thing happens in every army. You'll be surprised to know what sort of antics officers of the American Army get upto. And a brute majority of the encounters are very real. A friend of mine got his leg blown off by stepping on an improvised anti personnel mine. All said and done, we still have one of the 5 best armies in the world.

I don't remember anything of great import happening on 13/08/2010. But somewhere around that date I had my SET (for lecturership) exams and I left it halfway, as I had not prepared properly due to certain mental disturbances. That is the only thing I can remember.

Kandhan, the army men don't come from Mars. They come from amongst us - the society. If the society has degraded and the values it once had has been diluted, it will reflect in all realms of public and private life be it Politics, Profession or the services like the army.

And third lord in the third. That's kicking rose real hard. Only an exalted ketu in the 7th shows that the conjugal relationship between the state and the public would be a bit turbulent, with a mite of fighting every now and then. But that's nothing to worry about. 
You are reading the wrong chakra. Study the Madhu-Chakra and get me a proper reading.

Dear Kandhan,
India existed even before independence. So, whenever you talk of India's chart, never take Taurus Lagna, which was only the muhurta fixed for independence.
Geographically we are Virgo Lagna and malefics in the 11th is the only saving grace for us.

Virgo lagna means Jup owns 4th and 7th and sits in a marak H (2nd).
No wonder we get into all sorts of troubles and get multiple heart attacks. Jup is very bad for conjugal relations between state and people. I like Taurus Lg much better.

According to the geographical position India's raising sign is Virgo. I think varahamihira has given it somewhere. So, despite your liking you may have to put up with Virgo.

Gents I made a mistake in analysis in above post. I was looking at 10th house from Lagna and analysing for AL. KETU working on me for sure.. .. told ya swamycool.. ur ketu is getting on me tooo

Had it been Capricorn wouldn't all those malefics in 7th house make us a warmongering nation?
Please clarify one more thing, when you say Malefics in 11th you mean placement of planets in cancer according to muhurtha of independence or is it some other malefics in Cancer according to chart which Varahmira had casted i.e. Virgo Lagna

Your Cancer AL has A7 and A6 as well along with moon and ketu. So, the areas related to contracts/agreements, Partners(including spouse), Enemies/diseases, Maternal Side relatives, all these areas are prone to issues. 10th lord is also in picture as Mars is opposite to Ketu so that area can also bring forced mistakes beyond your control, just like your uncles advice on the army thing. Even in 95 post May for the full year you were running Cancer AD and being conjunct A6 brought mistake from the maternal side.
Also Ketu and moon together give an element of disconnect from the wordly affairs. The person likes to be on his own and not in the crowd. Moon being strong there, can help tide this, but Mars is also aspecting Moon. The mind will be totally screwed in that AD, is what i feel.
You mentioned politics and I cannot deny that. It is again one of those aspects of Sun+Mars combo, so you will fit into everything that the combo provides, as it aspects 10th lord moon in navamsa. But my gut feel is that this same moon can make you soft and politics may not suit you in the long run. Rahu+Mars in Rasi is very good to enter into politics in todays date. There is no doubt about that. It gives ability to handle cryptic people better and not let others supercede you easily. But then this combo in 10th would have been much better I feel OR even 9th would have been good for you in politics.
But I will say you are better judge of the situation in politics with regards to career. So, you can give it a go, since there is support in the chart.

Here's a little bit of feedback. No, I am not at all a soft person. Within my known circle I am known to be a very ruthless person even. Although, you are right, I like to keep to myself. If I am ever marooned in a deserted isle, I won't consider it much of a privation.
I don't remember a single day or event after the age of 11-12, that brought tears to my eyes. Not even my parent's deaths. And as per my mom, I never used to cry much, even when I broke my arms or legs in playing ground accidents, when I was little.Yes, things would have been very different if just Mars and Moon exchanged houses. In their current placements in 10 and 4, these two very important grahas have zero digbala. Opposite placements would have brought full digbala. Planets don't work very well without digbala.

I suppose you know about the Madanmohan Ashtakam of Adi Shankaracharya. This song (Madanmohan stotra) is from a very old Bengali film 'Bhagwan Shri Krishna Chaitanya' (1952). It has the M-A sung in the classical north Indian style, Anushtubh Chhanda, first half drut taal and second half dheeme taal. Male voice is the legendary Pankaj Kumar Mallick, female voice I forget. Song is in the very first portion of the clip and the very last portion. Ignore the dialogue in between. Believe me this is one of the rarest of rare clips. Enjoy.

I am trying to learn about Arudhas and how things in my life have matched up with how I try and interpret my chart. I look at it from 3 charts D4, D24 and D10 for the simple reason that I moved to US for higher studies (D4), I went to a very good university in India (BITS) and then to US for masters though I couldn't get my degree even though I completed everything, and I have changed quite a bit through jobs in my career (D10).
In D24, Asc is Vi with Ju in it, Ve is in Li, Sa is in Sg, A5 in Sc, Su/Ra/Ke with A8 in Cp, A4/Me/A9 in Pi, Ma in Ar, AL/UL in Ge and Mo/A6 in Cn.
I got admission on June 1, 1992 (Ge - Ge - Li) and joined there on July 28, 1992 afternoon (Ge - Ge - Sg). I am able to see the connection there. I got my admission to my Masters in May 10, 1996 and started classes Sep 09, 1996 (Li - Ge - Cp). While I can see that I successfully completed my Bacherlors, I am not able to see why even though I finished all work and submitted I couldn't get the degree - the analytical connection escapes me.

I work in IT but I have grown to become an enterprise architect director relatively fast focusing on technology and strategy and how to make things come together. I have a strong inclination to actually build business(es) to free up my time for my sadhana. People either like me or are threatened by me and typically the latter category are people that are in power. In such cases, I win some and I lose some. I have typically been in a job for about 2.5 - 3 years before change happens. So far, all changes have been for the better but never smooth either by my own thinking or due to external pressure. I am not able to get a sense of a general direction in my career.
I would rather spend time reading more scriptures/visit temples rather than go to a 9-5 job but I like the challenge of building things and solving problems so I am able to handle my job well but there is always a general sense of mental conflict/boredom/distraction. I love to do the former but I have duty and desire to succeed and earn well. What are the general indications if A8 is in the 8th from AL in D10?
Can someone give me guidance to see how we take analysis beyond just the obvious like in D4 that I saw?
