Hi,

Jupiter's transit 2,5,7,9,11 from moon to be benefic is a general dictum which holds good if we talk about the overall nature of the transit.

I personally believe its what fruits/results you are looking from the transit matters a lot.

For eg- someone who has moon and asc both as Aries.. Jupiter transiting through Aries means it will transit through 1st house aspecting 5th, 7th and 9th house..
Now if the native is interested in forging new relationships and/or tying a knot(wedding) then this transit shall hold good.. Basically in this case one has to look if Jupiter is affecting the 7th house, Venus, 7th lord etc..Hence transit of Jupiter through 1st, 3rd, 7th and 11th should help the native more in this case...

So one should look for both the native's chart and the fruits he/she is looking to bear out of the transit before terming it as completely auspicious/inauspicious...

PS- M just a learner and have keen interest in merging Vedic Astrology with current trends and empirical research findings on various charts... :P

Also one needs to take in to consideration the running dasha/bhukti lords...Trasnits cannot be analyzed in isolation and are subservient to the dashas...placement/strength of jupiter in d-1 and other div charts is equally important

Transits (Gochar ), means Motion/Movement of planets into 12 signs ...
A planet during their transits through signs gives results as per the Benefic/Malefic positions in the horoscope. With transits aspects changes. The different planets give the predominance of their effects in different moon signs they transits.

Transit results are significant as in effects as much as they append and modify the dasha & bhukti results. for instance, a person is having Jupiter Mahadasha and Jupiter is well placed in the natal chart. If in transit Jupiter gets into debilitation or in an unfavorable (3, 6,8 ) position the result of the dasha as long as Jupiter remains unfavorable would be slightly unfavorable. The same would apply to the bhukti lord. Thus when we are judging the dasha and antardasha( bhukti) results we should also see how the dasha lord and antandasha lords are placed with reference to Natal Moon and with reference to each other. Also if they get into 6th-8th position b/w themselves, they would adversely affect the dasha and antardasha results.

All the losses borne away by 12th and 1st transited Jupiter, would be redeems and restores when Jupiter transit in the 2nd Bhav. Similarly whatever he has taken away when in the 8th, is restored when he is in the 9th. Therefore Jupiter being auspicious planet work as a redeemer and its transits results are actually a blessing by the Lord Jupiter .

Transit Jupiter is highly auspicious & favors in 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11 houses from moon sign and transiting in 1,3,4,6,8,10 houses gives inauspicious results.

Planets while transiting unfavorable houses identical with their exaltation, own or friendly signs will produce only very mild and ordinary bad results while in their inimical and depression signs they will produce maximum miseries.

During the transit if the planet receives benefic aspects or association good results will be increased and bad results will be reduced, whereas if the aspect or association be malefic, good results will be minimum and bad results will be maximum.
If there be malefic planets in the 4th, 5th, 8th or 9th house reckoned from a transiting planet that is favourable, the good effects will be ineffective whereas, if the transit be unfavorable the evils will be increased.

In short, " TRANSIT MAY PROPOSE, DASHA MAY DISPOSE " ...

Hi Rahul,

Don't you think transiting jupiter in aries for scorpio lagna and rashi will caste its 5th aspect on 10th house of profession. So, it will be good financially also.

Atleast I was assuming so. :(

Hello pari

the above given dictum makes a general point...for scorpio lagna ,jupiter is a benefic L2/L5 and is a wealth producing planet as it owns the 2nd as well as the 5th house so assuming jupiter is strong and well placed in the chart ,it will be benefic for ur Asc..But the major factor is Dasa and bhukti lords..if they are not connected or associated with jupiter, this transit of jupiter will have minor effects as Dasha/Bhukti lords have the final say

Hi Pari,

Transits are current positions of the planets. It trigger events as it cross over the signs n planets , transiting of Jupiter aspects 9th,7th,5th house from itself, so now since Jupiter is in Aries Sign, Jupiter will aspect its (5th aspect to Leo (10th house) ), (7th aspect to Libra(12th house) ), and ( 9th aspect to Saggitarius (2nd house) ) for Scorpio moon sign.

Just as the effects of planets in different houses are reckoned from the ascendant and the moon lagan, so also the effects should be reckoned from the positions of other planets , considering each as lagan and counting house from the position of the planet (Jupiter in aries)as the reference point in (gochar).

In simple terms Jupiter stands by = Expansion
Now for Scorpio Moon Sign , it will be in 6th house ( Shatru Bhav) relates to diseases and enmity signify opposition, adversity, difficulties n obstacles in life. Immune system, wounds, injuries if afflicted, theft, litigation,it shows where we needs to be cautious in life , also signify overwork w/o much gains, as strife hard, 6th house being house of efforts n shows our capacity to do long hours , labor, relatives along with foreign contacts , Jupiter being expansive will expand however since Jupiter is benefic to Scorpio rashi, it will not cause great damaged .and being Vargottam in 5th your jupitar is surely Benefic .

Scorpio Moon Natives, Professionally will have to strive hard, face tough stiff competition for gains and profits , loans will be available with some contacts help, medical practioner , doctors, nurses will surely gain after hard efforts

Benefic Good results would surely be there from 30th Aug- 30th Dec, when Jupiter will be Retrograde .

Transiting planet (Jupiter) can activate results promised in the horoscope, but they cannot change the nature of those results..

If the planet whose bhukti period is in progress should during the course of his transit pass through the debilitation or enemy’s house or become combust, there will be much misery. Should he pass through his own or exaltation house , vargottam or be retrograde, the effects will then be good …

God Bless You

Data is here.

http://www.lightonvedicastrology.com/ph ... 19&t=10240

For a Scorpion Asc, Both mercury and Venus are functional malefics as Mercury is 8th lord and Venus is 12th lord and lord of 7th (marak house)..I have not looked at ur chart but the period running was Merc/Venus/Sat...Saturn is also malefic being 3rd lord...U were running the MD,AD and PD of malefic planets.. Jupiter IMO had no role to play..So 8th lord MD/12th Lord AD and 3rd lord (mild dusthana) PD planets...U will have to look at where saturn was transiting at that time

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know one thing here, as we were discussing jupiter's transit in aries for scorpio ascendant's. Jupiter is the lord of second house and 5th house, so its transit from the fifth and second to the house it owns, Will it not be beneficial ? As one of the post above states litigations for scorpions, so does it imply profit or income from litigations. It also aspects 10th house and also 2nd house. Just a thought, based on association with 2nd and 5th house. Comments on this are invited. This is my first analysis which i have not done by any principle just logical. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This transit is speacial for Him as He will be beginning his new cycle of next 12 years. It is said that during Guru's entry in mesha is the time for the purification of the Holy river Ganges. This has something to related to Pushkara.

Hello Shilpa

Gandanta is the zone between 27deg of the previous sign and 3 deg of the next sign esp wrt to water and fire signs. Thus a planet btwn 27 deg (pisces) and 3 deg (aries) , 27 deg (Cancer) and 3 deg (Leo),27 deg (scorpio) and 3 deg (sag) is said to be in gandanta

Jupiter is still in gandanta in transit as it is in the 2nd deg of aries and will gain strength next week once it crosses thethird degree

Jupiter transit into the 12th house of loss from the lagna is not good ...you also need to figure out its transit from natal moon as well as placement/strength/lordships of Jupiter in ur chart
