Ve in 3rd house can make one amorous especially if placed in martian sign scorpio. Any benefic in 3rd house does not do too well.

A benefic in 3rd and 8th gives consciousness at the time of death. The upachaya effect applies on a planet in 3rd. i.e. Its effect grow with age. Venus in martian signs increases passions with age.

Astrosonuji, what do you mean by consciousness during death? Does it mean that the person will not pass away in sleep?
I have Venus in 3rd with Sun. One of the effects, I heard is never ending sexual desires.
Hi Rajitha,
Hope you are doing great! as usual.
The eigth house is the house of sex as regards Kaalpurusha. Venus there gives tendency towards sexual indulgence.. generally happy orgasms can be attained. if not afflicted. That venus if afflicted there can give carnality, or problems due to carnality.
Venus is the 3rd. house are people who communicates very pleasantly; maybe fond of acting/writing depending on mercury's state.

Rishiji, extremely surprised and glad to see you here. I had totally stopped visiting the other forum and I think all the members here will be pleased to have a great astrologer like you here. Hope you are doing good and let me know the next time you are in US.
Hi Rajitha,
Thanks for the welcome! And for the warm wish!
I am good. I could visit there in July this year.

Hi All
Just want to recount an experience that I have.
3rd from Lagna I have the Moon brought up from Navamsa onto Rasi. So I do have the attributes mentioned : generally soft spoken, good communicator which I why I do not quite understand why Asians (especially those living in their homeland and not those living overseas) are generally such poor communicators, artistic (not that I can draw or act - I am better in penning scripts for movies or thinking up of ideas for choreography, possibly because my Mercury is Bhavam Vargottam but Venus conjuncts Rahu in the Ascendant) etc.
3rd from my Atmakaraka where the Moon is placed (Moon is Atmakaraka and is placed in the 7th) is where Jupiter brought up from the Navamsa onto the Rasi is placed. When I was young I experienced several dreams - something akin to out of body experience.
1st incident - I was sleeping in the bedroom and I imagined my body was taken out by some divine spirit and about to exit through the door but it seems that my body was too long to fit the width of the doorway. This goes through three times and the divine spirit finally gave up and then I woke up.
2nd incident. I dream I was floating in the air overloooking the grounds of my father's school and I float and float seeing everything in excruciating detail before I finally woke up.
Warmest Regards

Hmmm.. Yes I do mind. You seem to be very rude and arrogant.
As a matter of fact, the thing was so vivid with me all these years, and at that time when that happened, it came to me on a moment to moment basis. Not something that pass in a flash. During the experience, I shuttle between the state of semi-consciousness and the stae of consciousness and I can actually will it to snap out of the semi-consciousness and also to lapse back into the semi-consciousness state. But I could not control myself from snapping out this juggling between the states completely. Anyway, all this occurred about over 30 years back.

For me Venus is debilitated in the third house in virgo alongwith exalted Mercury and Ketu.....It is also in the third from my Atmakaraka Mars....What does it indicate???

Hi Hock Leong
Your experiences remind me of a book I read in Marathi (local language) by Mr Pradhan. It is in the form of a novel where a bright young chap who has an excellent track record in academics and sports renounces everything for the spiritual world. It is based on his personal experiences with Shree Shankar Maharaj, a disciple of Swami Samarth of Akkalkot (not to be confused with Samartha Ramdas, who lived in Shivaji's times)
The name of the book is-
Towards the silver crests of the Himalayas

Thanks amitns. Yes, I did feel emptiness in my life and that life was short during my teenage years in the 70s.
By the way, for the 3rd to Lagna dictum, I have Venus in my 3rd from Navamsa Lagna. Please ignore the analysis I did for bringing up the position of the Moon from Navamsa sign to the Rasi. This principle requires Venus to be 3rd from Lagna which I have it from 3rd to Navamsa Lagna. So I still have the artistic and good communication attributes.
Warmest Regards
