Hi
Following is the information regarding the Badhakasthana and the Badhakesa. Enjoy reading............
There are 11 bhadhakas which manifest in the life which are as follows:
Deva bhadhaka
Mother/Father
Sarpa
Guru/Pitri
Brahmins
Preta(from shani) Being who are dead and who linger around due to sorrow
Boothas(from Mars)
Abhicara(Black Magic)
Curses
Dristi(Evil eye, the person who thinks wrong about you)
Ememies
Dharma deva bhadhaka
All problems are caused due to affliction. Without affliction there would not be any sorrow or anger.
Curse of spouse the native would see sorrow in his married life (Curses are tangible)
Badhaka is that which cannot be seen.
The Karaka for bhadhaka is Rahu.If an native has Rahu in the horoscope and causing badhaka the native would find it difficult to resolve.
For all the Movable signs 11th house is the house of bhadhaka
For Fixed signs 9th house is the house of badhaka
For dual sign it is 7th house
Aries/Cancer/Libra/Capricon-Badhaka would be listening
Taurus/Leo/Scorpio/Aquarius-Feel for the surrounding
Gemini/Virgo/Saggitarius/Piesces-They see something which is not right. Badhaka would come in such a way (Indriyas)
When bhadhaka is associated with 6th the native would fight without any cause
Find the badhaka house
If there is a planet it can cause badhaka
If none the lord would cause badhaka
The badhaka cannot cause badhaka unless there is an affliction
Because the badhaka is like Rahu it can take you abroad and do good (depends on the yoga)
A mahapurusha yoga cannot be badhaka unless it is afflicted
Retro planets would behave in a very peculiar ways
The houses lorded by the planets in the badhaka sthana become badhaka and if they are no planets in the badhaka sthana and where they are placed they become badhaka
Rahu is the obstructor and ketu is the remover
Find out in your chart where the lord of the badhaka is placed.Take the opposite sign from the badhakesa which would act as a remover of that badhaka
12 forms of ganesha are given by Narada
Aries-Vakra Thundaya Hum
Taurus-Ekadantaya Hum
Gemini-Krishna Pinggakshaya Hum
Cancer-Gajavakraya Hum
Leo-Lambodaraya Hum
Virgo-Vikataya Hum
Libra-Vignarajaya Hum
Scorpio-Dhumravarnaya Hum
Saggitarius-Bhallachandraya Hum
Capricon-Vinayakaya Hum
Acquarius-Gajapataya Hum
Piesces-Gajananaya Hum
In my case my Lagna is leo and the badhaka sthana is 9th house as leo is a Fixed sign. 9th house is Aries and its lord is Mars. From Mars take the opposite house and again we get Aries hence for Aries the mantra for removal of obstacle it is Vakra Thundaya Hum
There is another way to find out. Find out the sign where Moon is placed and give the mantra associated with that sign(useful for children who are studying)
If the badhaka or badhakesa is in lagna(either lagnesha in badhaka sthana or the badhakesa is associated with lagna) the person would have health issues
If the badhakesa is associated with lagna some form of god has been destroyed
2nd and 11th house if badhakesa is associated the prasadam/Money of the god has been taken
If badhakesa is associated with the 3rd house the astra/weapons of the god has been destroyed
If the badhakesa is associated with the 4th house(your own home would have a problem) because the house of the god has been destroyed or the habitat of some animal or nature has been destroyed
If the badhakesa is associated with the 5th and 9th house, the native would have forgot to worship the god/mantra has been spelt wrongly
If the badhakesa is associated with the 6th house enemity would come from unknown sources. This would become the source of black magic also
If the badhakesa is associated with the 7th house the persons would have some unknown relationship issues.Obsftruction to a deity
If the badhakesa is associated with 6,8,or lagna it would denote jealousy.(Dristi bhadhaka). It causes diseases if both the lagna and 8th house are associated, and if 6th and lagna are associated enemity would arise
If too many planets are associated with the badhakesa in the 8th house then tattwa dosha would manifest in the person life,8th lord in the badhaka sthana.
If the badhakesa in the 8th then it is the tattwa dosha of badhakesa, if 8th lord is associated with badhakesa then 8th lord tattwa dosha
If the badhakesa is associated with the 10th house then the natives karma would be obstrcuted
If the badhakesa is associated with the 12th house it is the best place but should not be joined with any other planet.
Deva badhaka is caused when the planet under curse is also a badhakesa. As this states that this not a curse of the brahmin but a badhaka from the god
Meena lagna:
Mercury is the badhaka joined Sun it is the curse of Vishnu. Uncle curse would manifest. Sun being the 6th lord joined Mercury. As 6th is the house of enemy and the badha has been manfiested through enemity. Finally it was black magic and deva shapa.
Sarpa bhadhaka
Specific combination for sarpa badhaka. If there is a rahu in the badhaka sthana or rahu is associating with badhakesa
Look for rahu in the badhakasthana or joining badhakesa. this would happen as you have done something to the sarpas
Remedy:
If the badhakasthana is the 9th house the person has to offer 9 articles and do specific pooja. The type of articles should be seen from lagna.
Rahu if movable sign in the 9th house then offer eggs(not real eggs) made of copper/silver/gold
Rahu if placed in fixed sign then a tree has to be planted
Rahu if placed in dual sign then baby snakes has to be donated(not real baby snakes) they should be made from gold
If the lagna has gold planets then the articles has to be made from gold otherwise from silver
Jupite and Sun are gold in nature
Mars- copper in nature
Mercury and Venus is silver in nature
Offer these articles to Nageswara (shiva) along with Pooja then the badhaka would be removed
If Rahu is associated with Moon lot of suffering and if associated with Sun lot of knowledge would be there
Remedy has to be done based on when your Janma tithi.
No snakes(not real ones) which are coiled should be used. The ones which are crawling should be used based on the the planets placed in the lagna.
Pitri badhaka
If the afflication of the Sun and Moon and associated with the badhaka sthana or associated with the badhakesa or in the rasi or Navamsa sign of saturn or Mars then Pitri badhaka would be manifest. The Sun and Moon should also associate with Saturn or Mars.
Saturn=Sorrow
Mars=Anger
Remedy:
Be nice to your parents if they are alive or else perform shradha karma(If the parents are not alive) to come out of this badhaka.

informative post.
for Leo, Mangal is also yogakaraka and is functional benefic for Leo asc. this situation happens with some other ascedants too. how can a planet be considered yogakarka and badaka at the same time?
what are the remedies for other badhakas(or is it available in any book)?

Hi
Yes I had the same doubt as my Lagna is Leo. Mars is the lord of the 4th and 5th house and for this lagna the Badhaka is 9th from lagna. Hence I had to donate eggs to Shiva during my Tithi day. But the Badhakesa is Mars placed in the 3rd from lagna. 3rd house is considered of self doing. Here if you see Mars gives you rash approach as the 3rd house lord is Venus placed in my lagna.
I take very rash decisions due to which I had to face several issues. Now Venus is the lord of the 10th house placed in lagna. These decisions were connected to my career.
And also if you see the curse is happening on my Venus(Kalatra shapa). From AL ketu and Mars are in the 7th which is considered as Pisacha Bhadhaka. My door to the outside is very limited and I cannot connect easily to the world.
Hence I started reciting the mantra of Ganesha. During my young age I was big fighter. I used to use all sort of things to defeat my oponent. Break their heads and so on. Now I use Tulasi Mala and pray everyday.
Hope this is fine

Hi Umashankar:
Tulsi Mala is for budha, is it not? One astrologer told me to wear it though budha is my 8th and 11th lord and also atmakaraka. Is it OK to wear the mala? I hope so since he is associated with Mahavishnu. Am I right? May be it is also for spiritual upliftment.

3rd is not actually a bad placement for Mars
. Now Venus, is malefic for Leo and its in enemy sign.
Say, Mars is weak otherwise for a Leo, can one strengthen it by wearing Coral(taking star, house etc into consideration)? then what happens to its Badaka property? that is my doubt .
Devji
long time no see.

Hi
yes 3rd is not a bad placement but being the bhava connected to courage it carries curses also. The reason being that when we say courage then we would use muscle power and that creates a problem.
Yes you are right coral can be used for Mars. But the lord of the 4th and 9th house it is good for Leo lagna. In fact I am wearing it but yet to see the results

Hi
I do have your details.
When we are talking badha we mean some sort of trouble or obstacles. This badha would not be seen but can be felt. We do not know why this badha is coming and from where it is coming.
Now coming as to how see the badhaka sthana we have to divide the signs into 3 different rasis. Which go in zodical order
Movable
Fixed
Dual
For every movable sign the 11th house from it would be a badhaka. For Aries the 11th house would be the house of badhaka
For every fixed signs the 9th house from it would be a badhaka. For Taurus it would be 9th house
For every dual signs the 7th house from it would be a badhaka. For Gemini it would be 7th house
This would be the same for every movable, fixed and dual signs
The badhakesa (lord of the badhaka sthana) would be the obstacle creator.Hence the placement of this planet in a particular bhava would indicate from where the
obstacle is coming. Badhaka lord is like Rahu hence in order to remove this obstacle the opposite sign from the planet(badhakesa) whould be seen (this would act act like Ketu) and the Ganesha Mantra associated with it should be recited for the badha to be removed. Because ketu represents Ganesha and Ganesha being the obstacle remover.
Now coming to your chart:
Your lagna is in Virgo which is a dual sign hence the 7th from it would be the badhaka sthana. For Virgo people the badhak comes from those things which they see they feel it is not right . As Indriyas play a role for creating such badhakas.
Now your 7th house would become like Rahu and in order to remove it we have the take the sign opposite to it which is Virgo again this would as Ketu for removing the obstacle. The Ganesha mantra for this is :Vikataya Hum.
Because your badhakesa is Jupiter as your lagna is a dual sign and it is placed in the 3rd house. 3rd house represents the weapon you use in order to complete your work. As the Badhakesa is associated with the 3rd house astras of the god has been destroyed and you would also face the same issues in your present life. In the sense your tools which you use in your daily life which give up at the right time.
Badhakesa is also your Atma karaka
The dictum states that Malefics should afflict the 12th house from Badhakesa which represents a Deva Badhaka. Jupiter represents Narayana and 3rd house represents the sitting position where the native has to recite the mantra of Narayana(in sitting position)
And at the same time the dictum also states that the native has to visit a Navagraha temple and on their Tithi day (Sukla Chaturdasi) and put some garland of flowers on to the idol of the Bruhaspati.
Hope this is ok

Dear Uma Shanker Ji,
Thank you so much for explaining the Bhadhaka.
I have one question. You said the Bhadhakesa is also our Atmakarka. Is Atmakarka negative thing or a positive thing?
Regards,
Vidhya

Hi
If badhakesa is also your Atmakaraka this means that the soul would also feel the effect of this badha. And this would be negative and you cry out from your soul and also feel as to why this is happening to me only

Hello UmaShankar ji,
Thanks for the elaborative post. Its hard to find detailed information about Badhakas. May be its a not a deeply studied topic ?!
I have 2 questions:
--Mine is Aquarius lagna. As is the case for Leo lagna, Badhaka sthana would be 9th house owned by Venus. But as before, Venus is also yogakaraka for Kumbha lagna and further its Atmakaraka in my chart. But Venus is placed in the 12th H. You said 12th is a good placement for Badhaka. But its with Gulika and Maandi. Is this considered an affliction? (12th to the Badhaka has Jupiter)
--Even if 12th is a good placement, it would be aspecting the 6th house from there. But any association of Badhaka with 6th house is not good as you mentioned.
please clarify
very sincerely,
S

Hi Digits of time:
For leo, the 9th lord is mars and not venus. He is yogakarak owning 4th and 9th a kendra and kona.
As I understand, some astrological practisers do not give much importance to badhaka at all, especially if it is yogakarak. Yogakarak gives yoga irrespective of if it is a badhaka or not but it seems other effects however operate like conjunction of yogakaraka with malefics, malefic aspects on it and so on.

Dear Dev ji,
I understand that the 9th lord for leo is Mars. I was just mentioning that similar to Leo, Aquarius also has a 9th house Badhaka.
Conjunction of Badhaka with Gulika and Maandi is also something I am interested in.
sincerely,
Sunny

Sorry Sunny. I thought u had mentioned about Leo.
Fine u know for all sthira rasi 9th is the badhaka, ie for rishaba, simha vrishchika and kumbha.
But when badhaka is combined with gulika and mandi, of course it may be bad but I dont know. There was some thread on gulika and mandi before with various people like Astroboy and others participating.
I do not know if gulika and mandi are so important but anyway I am not an expert to give my views here. It is my own doubt that is all.
Hope someone answers your question.
