Astroboy,
All the Rishis were married, some had multiple wives and many also received loads of dasis as gifts from kings.
Now there is some food for thought.
Before energizing the sahasrar chakra one has to awaken the muladhar first..that is the proper process.

Guys...being a spiritual leader is the easiest and the most lucrative career in this country....
Just need to be very thorough with some scriptures...if you can memorize and quote..nothing like it...!!!
There is always an unlimited supply of gullible people dying to believe you....
This is the only business where you can promise something and need not deliver
...and get away with it....
all you need to do is put the blame back on the disciple that he dint follow your instructions properly.
If the disciple insists that he has followed your instructions to the T..... you promise him moksha in the next life
No Capital Investment required
........mixing business with pleasure is almost mandatory....

Re- guru chandala yoga
Great discussion here- I thought I did not have this yoga but apparently I have. Wanted to add my two cents here.
I have guru in rahu's nakshatra- swati. Guru & Rahu aspect each other.
My parents are devout religious hindus- I remember spending entire summer vacations in Haridwar, Rishikesh etc. Traveling to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Tirupathiji etc. while back in India. When at home- I sat in hot Delhi summers doling out water in makeshift "pyau" which my grand-mother would have somebody erect every summer. I did not pray regularly (twice a day) like them but did observe fasts on major religious days, went to temples about once a week.
As an adult, of my own volition i have gone to various religious places in India whenever I have gone back to India on vacations. In fact, during all my rahu AD, I have definitely travelled to a religious place. Last rahu antar, I travelled to Badrinath. It was a very moving experience for me.
For the past two years, I have been spiritual- if you call praying regularly, chanting mantras etc. being spiritual. However I am addicted to chanting now- I am uncomfortable if I do not chant. I call it following rituals. I meet a lot of people who are not religious but have a highly developed sense of right from wrong, are kind and generous, a high sense of ethics, non-judgemental. I think that brings a person closer to his spirit than rituality. There are other people who have a high sense of morality but IMO morality is defined by the times and place that we live in. I do not call that being spiritual. There are moralistic people with highly developed sense of righteousness in hindu and other religions/ cultures. IMO, nor does reading a lot of scriptures/renunciation bring a person closer to spirituality. My great grand-father was one great Jain muni with a huge following. i heard he was a great sprit- however I never had the good fortune of meeting him. The Jains had extreme views on self-renunciation - I don't think my opinions would gel well with them.
Maybe that is what the guru-chandal yoga has done for me. However, I like to explore my own religion. When I was in india, i followed all rituals blindly. Now, I want to truly closer to it. Currently, I am running Ketu dasha-magha. My rahu is in Shatabisha.

Good day Hina Ji ,,
There is a dictum in Kerala that has found favour with me . " A snake in a Pot will cause no harm " . Rahu is described as a snake in astrology , and the symbol of Kumbha is a pot . Another dictum is that Rahu does really well in Satabhisha . It is better that he is in his own constellation than in any other . These modifying factors might have contributed to you views on religion .
there is a brilliant yoga for spirituality , the 9th lord is in the 12th and Retrograde .

Kunal , we have discussed this many a times . Will do it again because saying this a 1008 times is not enough, we need to drive home this point 100 008 times every day . Shani is the most dangerious Man in the zodiac . Look at the karakatwas he owns , he is the karaka for the 6th , the 8th , the 12th , and the most important 10th house . Now you begin to understand how important he is . it is a well know fact that all the planets give their results through Shani . Even Rahu and Ketu are nothing compared to the wrath he can unleash on a man . He did not even spare Shiv Ji . Even the Gods run in fear upon seeing him . Need I say more . Any affliction to him means that the person is in trouble . All other factors being equal . Look at where Shani gets debilitated , he gets debilitated in Mesha , which is the head of the Kalapurusha .
See what makes his debilitation different from the others
Mesha - 10th and 11th in the lagna
2 - 9th and 10th in the 12th
3 - 8th and 9th in the 11th
4 - 7th and 8th in the 10th
5 - 6th and 7th in the 9th
6 - 5th and 6th in the 8th
7 - 4th and 5th in the 7th
8 - 3rd and 4th in the 6th
9 - 2nd and 3rd in the 5th
10 - 1st and 2nd in the 4th
11 - 1st and 12th in the 3rd
12 - 11th and 12th in the 2nd
Note unlike others , he owns two houses consecutively . even if he owns 1 bad house , remember he owns another good house . Look at the Irony , For example you would think the 7th and the 8th getting debilitated would not be a big deal till you realise he gets debilitated in the 10th house .
. what a creation of God . Take another example . For Meena the 11th and the 12th gets debilitated in the 2nd . I shudder to think what that persons fate would be financially .
I think you get the idea now .

Astroboy,
How, in your opinion, debilitated Shani but retrograde, will act? Theory that retrograde and debilitated planets acts like exalted ones doesn't really apply. I have found it to be erraneous in my exp and this has been corroborated by B V Raman and others. So how do you think Shani will act under such circumstances?

Chandrashekara Bharathi III (born as Narasimha Shastri; 1892-1954 ) was the Jagadguru (literally, teacher of the world, in Sanskrit; assigned to heads of Hindu mathas) of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham during 1912-1954. He was one of the most significant spiritual figures in Hinduism during the 20th century. He was known to be a Jivanmukta (Sanskrit for one liberated while alive).
Chandrashekhara Bharati Swami was born to pious parents in Sringeri on Ashvayuja Shukla Ekadashi (the eleventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Ashwayuja) in the Hindu lunar year Nandana (corresponding to October 16, 1892). His father was Gopala Sastri and mother, Lakshmamma. He was the last of 12 children born to this couple and the only one who survived past infancy. A notable feature of his life was that his birth, upanayanam, sannyasa and videha mukti (death), all happened on Sundays
His thoughts on life in general ,
You are responsible for what you are today. You are responsible for your pain and suffering and misery. You cannot escape your responsibility by blaming fate; for fate is of your own making, or by blaming God, for he is but divine dispenser of fruits in accordance with the merits of your actions. You have none to blame but yourself for your present state of affairs.
By exercising your free will in the present, wipe out the past record and work for a better future. Whether for acquiring more happiness or for reducing misery, you have to exercise your free will in the present.
Fate is nothing but the sum total of the results of your past actions.
And another master piece,
All religious conflicts and quarrels arise because a devotee is unable to disassociate his conception of God from a particular name and form.
Some more,
It is true that in the world of practical life you cannot do without wealth. But do not attach more importance to money than it deserves. Never forget that money is only a means of happiness and not happiness itself.
Happiness is a state of mind and does not depend on the quality or quantity of external possessions. A person may be the lord of all the three worlds and yet be unhappy. Another may be the poorest of beggars and yet be the happiest man in the world.
Wealth and happiness are not related to each other as cause and effect. An attempt to secure happiness by securing wealth is as futile as it is absurd. We have the ability to learn. Materials for knowledge are available to us. Teachers are available for teaching us. Yet man willingly prefers to live in darkness of ignorance. Within man exists an ocean of bliss. Yet he willingly prefers to live a life full of misery, pain and suffering. This is the tragedy of human life.

Let us not bang our heads too much with his horoscope . Its all simple really
, ( Being sarcastic )
9th lord is in the lagna in the Nakshatra of Chitra whose lord Kuja is exalted in the 4th house
Guru aspects Shani , the lord of the 5th . Shani is in the 12th house of Renunciation and aspects the 9th house .
Dont be fooled by the Debilitation of the Sun (Soul) . Its in a exalted Nakshatra and in Parivarthana with the Lagna lord
Kuja is in his own nakshatra nearing peak exaltation
9th and the 12th lord is in the lagna
I have said it , and I will say it again . when Raja yogas for material Gain and wealth Fail , then start looking For spiritual and renunciation yogas . let us see how this horoscope is weak for wealth .
1. 4th and 5th lord is in the 12th
2. 11th lord debilitated
3. Lagna lord debiliatated in the Navamsha
4. 12th lord in the Lagna
But he was wealthy in his own way . Note the exaltation of the 2nd lord in the 4th . This 2nd lord aspects the 10th and the 11th . In his life time he was famous , owned a peetham ,
, commanded the respect of thousands of people , and had access to the wealth ( Money ) of the peetham .

Sir , In my opinion a debilitated retrograde become strong in the place he is . But he does not display a exalted behaviour . The planets intention to do good will depend if he owns good houses or not . If a planet owns determental houses , the debilitated planet becomes stronger to do bad . I think you get the picture ,

Thank you for your corroboration. It has cleared a serious doubt. Btw the post on Sri Sri Chandrashekhar Bharati is most engaging and enlightening. If I am not mistaken, is there a strong dharmakarmadhipati yoga in the chart?

Karkamsha lagna is Pisces with Atmakarka[ Soul karka] Jupiter aspected by the fifth lord Saturn. Atmakarka is vargottama and natural karka for soul is not only in exchange of Venus but also vargottam aspected by Jupiter in navmansha, showing that he was a very spritual person. Regards
