Dear Zara,

At the physical level, that remedy is generally prescribed to get rid of diseases like migraine which technically as of now does not have an aetiology .

At the mental level, to get rid of nightmares, disturbed sleep, etc. It is a tantric remedy and I have seen it work on many ppl if practised continuously for atleast 48 days.

Hope this clarifies.

Dear Zara

48 days or 1 mandala denotes 27 stars, 9 planets and 12 zodiacs. That is why 48 or multiples of 48 are prescribed.

It is either by the side of the bed or if possible behind the bed but never under the pillow.

This is supposed to mitigate doshas of ketu but regarding kalatra dosha, I have no idea.

Thanks for the clarification Ramam ji.
I saw it being adviced for a woman with ketu in 1st house(lagna) for problems to her kids(major health issues). And she was also adviced to pour the water in a rose plant only.Does it have to be particularly a rose plant only? And in such cases(that is if it is meant for such cases at all) should the water be placed near the mother's head or the child's head ? or is it meant for any problems related to ketu ?

Saw it sometime back----don't really remember it clearly.Would appreciate if you could explain it a little more.
Thanks and regards-----imann

Dear Iman,

If its for the child then it should be placed behind the child's head. And regarding plants,

For health - neem tree
For prosperity - tulsi
For doshas - peepul tree
For spiritual process - rose plant/any other good smelling flower plants.

oh wow.......so it was something completely different from what i thought.I thought it was just for the health.
Ramanan ji;what if there's no neem tree around?won't any tree/plant work as a substitute?and are there any specific astrological indications in the chart for which you would advice this remedy?like you were talking about ketu earlier.

Thanks and regards----imann

Dear Iman & Zaraji,

If theres no neem tree around then the second option is hibiscus plant, which is supposed to represent the protective force of agni thathva and agni deva is the guru of sukracharya. For doshas regarding marital happiness, general wellbeing and prosperity hibiscus plant (red) helps.

If theres no peepul tree around then the vilva tree is very good. I do not know whether theres any other substitution.

Hi Mr. Ramanan

I hv a similar query. Somebody told me last year for the similar remedy with minor additions/ changes:

1. It should be kacha Milk mixed with water which needs to be kep beside bed; head side

2. In the morning water is to be offered to Babul.

3. It is to be done for 42 days.

May pl throw some more light on this. I hv not done this remedy as the place I was staying there was no babul tree neraby.

Pl advise should I do this remedy now & for what purpose this is suggested for!

Thanks
SRK

Dear SRKji,

Generally, for jupiter's affliction kacha milk mixed with water is kept.

If u dont get a babul tree, a mango tree will do.

Trust this helps.

My jupiter is afflicted----debilitated as well as in 8th house.DOB--11/11/1973,place--calcutta,time--7.10 pm;so can/should i do this?Ramanan ji;there are no babul tree or mango trees around.I have seen a few rose plants and hibiscus(pink);but otherwise there are lots of eucalyptus,aloe,daisies----none that we want.any solution?
I have heard a lot about the effectiveness of these remedies. Are there any special rules that one should follow or any special precautions?
how does it all relate to astrology?Jup afflicated---milk + water---babul;7th house afflicted---hibiscus???spiritual---rose----does it somehow relate to ketu?I really want to learn it from a person who actually knows and not just through books or net.please be kind enough to explain.
Thanks and regards----imann

Dear imann-ji & srk-ji,
The neem tree is supposed to be the abode of Sakthi.
Tulsi plant - the abode of Sri Vishnu
Peepul Tree - the abode of Lord Dakshinamoorthy
Vilva tree - The abode of Lord Shiva.
Hibiscus Plant - the abode of Protective force of fire
Vanni tree - the abode of maa Saraswathi & Ganesha

Now you can understand that the deities dwelling on these trees represent planets and if those trees are served then the deities are happy and the doshas are mitigated.

Hope this clarifies.

Many thanks Ramanan ji for the explanation.Your posts are always so informative and valuable for students like me.
1.One more question;does it also tie up with the 12 house lord and its planets (which indicate the deity one should worship,if i am not too wrong)??Does moon in taurus in 12th house mean the ishta devta should be any form of goddess----and then in this remedy maybe---neem tree?
2 Does the water have to be kept in a brass/copper vessel ?
3.I have a habit of keeping water by my bedside and drinking it whenever i get up at night.I know its ridiculous but I hope that doesn't somehow cancel/nullify this remedy.
thanks and kind regards---imann

Zara---I m in the same boat as you are.Very very difficult to find those trees here.

Dear Iman

The water can be kept either in a copper or brass vessel. The moon in the 12th house is exalted. So no need for neem tree.
