2nd to Venus rules garments, jewelry and accessories besides money.
In earlier post, I mentioned Jupiter as the Karaka for clothing. Sorry for the mistake.
But Jupiter on its own does rule the shapely figure that is amenable to be clothed since it rules the flesh.

I want to add that although Venus rules jewelry in general, Moon rules gems - those jewelry that really sparkles. That is why Moon rules Rohini. Also Moon is the backup significator for the 2nd house.
But Moon does not backup Venus's significations. It only backups Jupiter's significations.
So for jewelry, you can read as 2nd to Venus plus its ruler there AND anywhere Moon is placed or Cancer is placed in the chart. Moon signification for gems is a general karakatwa and not tied to relative house position.

Why yes that is true, you do not like cheap clothes because your Sun is ther (2nd to Venus) and Sun is the king of the planets. Sun does not like jewelry (enemy to Venus) so fanciful or too expensive clothes either. You go for clean cuttings and elegance in style. Ascendant describes you when you are young (the houses in the chart has ages when it will fructify) so it explains your interest in clothings when you were young and not now.
Sun is also the planet that is more concerned with governing than one self as he gets older. That is why anybody who marries a person strong in the Sun would have to be reminded that this person is more concerned with worldly achievements (status, rank etc.) than on the family (the 4th house which is the Moon - in that sense the Moon strong person can juggle private and work life better keeping them in equal balance).
So when you were young, you go around town hunting for sources for clothes and that is because 2nd to Venus is also 2nd to Mercury (the nose). In fact you are very happy when you get a good deal in clothes (4th to Jupiter) and you are fulfilled ie. satisfied (4th to Moon). Also this urge is powerful (3rd to Rahu). You have energy to round hunting for clothes (9th to Mars) and you normally buy clothes that is sutitable for your workplace (10th to Saturn).
Your disinterest in jewelry is because Cancer is in an Apoklima House (3rd house) and your Moon is 12th to Rahu (you may feel that jewelry is a bit confining to wear).
