Does retro grade planets always cause worry related to the house they are in? for example if jupiter is in 5th house retrograded then is it going to cause trouble related to studies?
How the retrograde planets behave. Should we count clock wise or anti clockwise when we are counting from a retrograde planet?

I want to add my query to this...If I have retrograde Mercury with 5 degrees in Scorpio, should its position not be 25 degrees (30-5) in the same house, since the planet is moving backwards? Kindly elaborate.

I am an learner myself, from what I remember reading retrograde planets signify that certain aspects of life were un fulfilled when you passed over in your previous lifetime and you are going to work towards manifesting your previous loss.
A retrograde planet in debilitation is considered to behave like an exalted planet.
Retrograde planets act both on the house they occupy and the previous one too, jupiter in 5th acts on 4th house as well. however it doesn't mean it is going to cause difficulty in education.
people with retrograde jupiter infact have the ability to make others losses into profits they say, they just have this insight about how to fix things.
people with retrograde mars are passive aggresive, in that they were aggresive individuals who did so many wrong things maybe of their own will or on somebody's commands and hence int his lifetime they are working against being aggresive and rude, they have to learn to be able to accept their aggresion as a part of their nature and practice kindness to progress spiritually
like people with retrograde venus, have difficulty expressing their feelings and hence always are unhappy in relationships, because they don't open up and feel sad inside but partners think the individual doesn't care. they have to learn not to be shy and learn to express to progreess
In other words retrograde planets are there for the individual to overcome some deficiency he had in previous lifetime but failed to correct, and hence his spiritual progress is on hold. So they have to work towards fulfilling the destiny they were craving for when they died last lifetime.
This is what I have understood, I could be wrong,as I am still at the nursery level of learning in astrology.
An insight with someone senior would certainly help, cause I want to know if my self teaching is correct

Your reply about retogression is very true.
I have a friend who has Ju, Sa and Ma retorgrade in his chart.
We ar every close and discuss a lot of things, you have hit bulls eye.
He has told me time and again about exactly the same issues.
