Hi

In my two earlier posts I mentioned two forms of Panchakadi Sambandha - one based on natural relationships between planets and one based on planetary positions.

Based on natural relationships between planets if we extend the concept to planets placed in signs an interesting interpretation takes place. First let me list down the table of the complete planetary natural relationships based on Panchakadi Sambandha.

Table-1: Natural Relationship

GRAHA------Pachak-------Bodhak-------Karaka--------Vedhak

Sun----------Saturn-------Mars-----------Jupiter--------Venus
Moon--------Venus--------Mars-----------Saturn--------Sun
Mars---------Sun----------Moon-----------Saturn--------Mercury
Mercury-----Moon---------Jupiter---------Venus--------Mars
Jupiter------Saturn--------Mars-----------Moon---------Sun
Venus-------Moon---------Mercury-------Saturn--------Sun
Saturn------Venus--------Moon-----------Jupiter--------Mars

Now what happened when we analyse this in terms of planets placed in a sign?
(Note that now we are not talking about friendly or unfriendly signs).

Let's take an example each for each kind of relationship.

PACHAK : Moon in Gemini or Virgo would control Mercury's forgetfulness and hence its attendant unreliability. Moon rules the mind and the mind is powerful of not forgetting promises made. In other words, when Moon is placed in Gemini or Virgo, the person has a less fickle demeanour. The Moon keeps the speech and acts of Virgo and Gemini individuals more focused and less hasty speech. The keyword is LESS VARIABILITY and MORE CONTROL. Similarly for Saturn in Leo - you work it out yourself.

BODHAK : Mars in Leo is a good placement. It makes Leo knows exactly how to convey the proper image to grab attention. People with Mars in Leo are well dressed and every gesture is calculated to achieve an objective from the other party. The keyword is KNOWS THY OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY. Similarly for Jupiter in Gemini and Virgo (remember, the teacher knows the students well to the point of knowing what they want).

KARAKA : Jupiter in Leo assists the Leo in grabbing attention. Mabye the person is grandeur in appearance, or the person has a natural dignified bearing. The keyword is ASSISTANCE TO MAKE REACHING OF GOALS EASIER. Similarly for Saturn in Libra or Taurus.

VEDHAK : Sun in Pisces or Sagittarius. This placement means the person uses his philosophical principles to impress others. It is a weakness because pure philosophy is supposed to increase wisdom and not to achieve mundane objectives. The keyword is MAKING USE OF THE WEAKNESS IE. TO SEE THRU IT LIKE PIERCING A VEIL. Similarly for the Sun in Cancer - hint : think of using our emotional outbursts and temperamental behaviur to dominate others.

Hi

Now Mars is a Bodhak of the Moon. But Mars ia also debilitated in Cancer. So how do we interpret?

As a Bodhak of the Moon, Mars would try to satisfy every whim and fancy of the Moon. Imagine Cancer has a lot of whims and fancies, each time changing within a short period of time. Mars would try to help to satisfy Cancer's whims, but Mars is a planet that is best suited for long-range objective ACCOMPLISHMENT. Hence it is debilitated in Cancer.

So Mars in Cancer is not a good placement because of its debilitation even though Mars is a Bodhak of the Moon. Better to have Mars with Moon rather than Mars in Cancer.

The exact chakra in Sarvarth Chintamani from where it is been taken is different. The placements pachak etc is different in Shukra table. Moreover, Shukra cannot be fifth from Buddha. Neither can Ravi be sixth from Shukra.
