I have been trying to find clues how to deremine if person has homosexual tendencies or has gay orienteation. This far I have not been able to find any clear rules from my books that would work. From my books I have found only one reference: William R. Levacy in his book Beneath a Vedic Sky states that Retrograde Venus is "love backwards" and can give homosexual tendencies. But that is the only reference this far.

"The planets that will make one gay are Mercury and Saturn. If Saturn is in Mercury ’s sign, or Mercury in Saturn ’s signs or they are both in trines to lagna or the 7th house this will give gay tendencies, independent of male or female." But it does not say does it apply for rasi or for navamsa or for both.
In any case, in my chart Sa is in trine to lagna (1st) and Me in trine to 7th (3rd). I have also VeR. And I feel more attraction to same than the opposite sex. But then I checked the rule against some other charts and some gay people do not have this combination and others that have straight orientation (though I intuitively feel they may have some latent homosexual tendencies) do have this combination.
Of course we must understand that this is not a black or white -matter. The person can be primarily heterosexual, but may have had some levels of sexual experiences with the same sex - and vice versa. Or the person has lot of homosexual tendencies, but does not express them due to cultural setting. And in some cultures it is commonplace to express affection to same sex partner but not having sexual relation. And yes in some cultures, it is common to have same-sex sex, but not emotional bonding. This is very much a cultural issue.

Dear Basab and others, that is the way I am reading the chart. And that is the way my teacher guided me to use. With this method you look at the planets, signs, houses, their relationship, and meditate on it. You remain quite until the clear answer comes to your mind. Astrology is 50% technical and 50& intuitive. At least for me. And I think it si that for you too, you just have not realized your intuitive capacity. But not having deep technical understanding of all principles, the intuitive reading lacks some detail. Learning more technics, improves the reading and adds more details.
I have one interesting reading. The person gave his date of birth in a funny format 1976 12.5. So I thought is is american format YYYY-MM-DD and made the chart accordingly. I made the reading, which happened to be quite accurate, though timing of the events were not accurate at all. After the reading, it was brought to my attention, that the date on the chart was wrong. The real date is 12 may 1976 and not 5 dec 1976. Having this incidence, I did not find motivation to make a second reading with the correct data. I was just being amazed how it was possible that I knew the sports he did, I knew his spiriutal qualities and I knew many details about his personaity, dispite the chart was incorrect.
That brought into my mind the words of my teacher: "It does not matter from which chart you read, the right things will come to your mind anyway". So this made me to realize how intuitive the reading really can be, if one uses meditative reading technic.

now coming to what you have told about my b-chart,
you are right when you say that most of the planets are in the 9,10,11 and so i should spend most of my time and energy in the outer public life but it's not at all like that. i am a very indoor person and don't like socializing at all. i like staying on my own so have a lot of time for soul searching. i know this is not apparent in the birthchart but this is what i am like.
i am very thin so i don't think that can be called a beautiful body but i am okay looking.don't think i have got a very attractive personality. what i can tell you about me is i am extremely shy and don't love socializing at all. i am not at all a people's person. i don't think i am that interested in esthetics much and am not at all concious of my dressing. you can easily call me a clumsy dresser. i am deepy interested in the unknown and mystical. so you are very correct about this particular prediction. i am not at all a spiritual person and have no interest in puja etc.

i am not at all good at speaking. i have always been fascinated by people who speak well and consider this one of my biggest regret in life that i am not a good speaker. do you think i will be able to improve on my speaking power? i really want to. can i do a job where speaking is involved because that's what i want to do so much. i am not being able to becasue i am not good at speaking. i wish i can organize people someday with my speech because it's my dream to get into a job where speaking is involved. i don't have much friends and am not the type who will divert his attention towards friends. cash inflow is 0. i am still unemployed and have not earned a single penny till date. when do you think i will earn some money?

Oh sorry I did not see the hour mentioned there. My apologies for that. What is the source of this birth time? How precise it is? Has it been rectified (=verified) by an astrologer? 8AM looks quite inaccurate. For this purpose it should be exact per minute.

I am not professional with this, so this is just testing the rule posted in my first message. With 8am sharp - and also 7:40-8:30 the combination of Sa/Me in each others signs OR in navamsa trines does not occur. She does not have VeR. But having Su and Ma on her lagna, I think she has some masculine tendencies, but this does not mean she is lesbian. It means she is a strong woman.

For me Saturn and Mercury are trines from each other and both aspecting 7th house. Saturn is lagna lord and mercury rasi lord. I will soon encounter this dasha. However, My inclinations are not on the homosexual side. Is there any exception to the rule you have mentioned.

Dear Sonu, these rules that you have quoted were something I had gathered from different sources. I have been merely testing them, and I am not sure how well it works. The quoted rule should be applied to Navamsa, as per the person who gave the rule. Using another rule, which I got later - after writing the post you are quoting here, seems to work better than the quoted one. That is: if masculine planets are in feminine signs and feminine planets in masculine, that will give gay tendencies. The more so, the more such tendencies. This rule certainly would give inclination to same sex for you. But as I said, I am just testing these rules here, and so far it has worked quite well, also on my own chart.

If venus happens to be the lord of the rasi where gulikan is located and occupies a strong position as 4th or 10th , we can say that the native may devlop unnatural sexual desires like homesxuality etc. Same result can be predicted if saturn and gulikan is posted in 7th house and it hapens to be a venusian house.
Venus and rahu yoga in sensitive houses normally wont culminate in to homosexuuality or lesbinism but it indicates more than one partner or relationship with widow or widower or relationship with elderly partners.
