Hi All,
I would like to establish my correct Navamsa Lagna. My recorded birth time was 4.46 pm and I'm clearly a Mithun Lagna as per my Rasi chart. However on the Navamsa, it gets slotted as Aries Navamsa, but I was told that it could also be Meena Lagna Navamsa also as the time I was born falls in the range of 4.40 pm to 4.46 pm and hence there are chances that it could be either. Could you please help me establish the correct Navamsha Lagna and more so since I'm also on the lookout for marriage and it will enable better reading of the Navamsha chart. Sharing my birth details below:
Name: Rajiv
DOB: 24TH JAN 1986
POB: Colombo, Sri Lanka
TOB: Between 4.40 pm to 4.46 pm (evening)
Regards
Rajiv

1-Are you living in a north facing house ?/Do you have big head ? and broad face ?
2-Are living in a East facing house ? /Do you have broad chest / protruding brown coloured eyes ? /Are there any hills near your house surroundings ?
Rajiv above the 2 clues which one you like to mark based on your body-house descriptions ?

I am right now living in a North facing house in a rented apartment. The road down my side goes across in the East-West direction and there is also a temple in the eastern direction. From your clues above, I guess I fit the 1st clue more than the 2nd as I have a slightly big head as well.
Can you please let me know on this please?. I thought the directions are more applicable to Ascendant of Rasi chart and not the Navamsh chart. I asked one local Tamil astrologer, he said it's Mesha since I am a male. I don't understand the logic behind this. I am just intrigued by astrology and hence would love to know how you deciphered it as Pisces. Would greatly appreciate if you could mention your thought process on arriving at the Lagna of Navamsha. Thanks in advance.

If it is aries navamsa, your living surroundings will have hills or at least a hill.Rasi is flower and navamsa is the fruit.so which one is reliable to depend on final result ?

hello skrajiv,
in astrology, especially through nadis, the details regarding the birth place and its surroundings
are matched. Hence the direction of the house you are living at present has no relevance.
The direction of the house where you were born ALONE matters. Hence my take on these issues
is always to take them with a pinch of salt.
Generally, planets which are trine to your navamsa lagna denote the blessings or bhagya which
represent your talents. Your personal talents are known only to you and others who are close to you.
With various standards in ayanamsa, precession, and the accuracy of birth time, the so called
your correct navamsa lagna would not be one and the same.
Why all the birth times are round numbers like, 5, 10, 15.. 40 etc ?
Are you really going to match the charts with navamsa lagna ? Is it possible ? Can you vouch
for the navamsa lagna of the girl's chart and if so on what basis ? ( of course it is your inidividual's
choice)
My personal opinion is to observe both navamsa lagnas of yours over a period of time and decide later.
truly yours

Thanks a lot for your answers. I especially see that there is a major difference in placements of Navamsha charts for most horoscopes not only with regard to the Lagna but also house placements of various planets. That is the reason I'm never able to decipher a correct Navamsha chart.
I am a person from the South and the ancient astrologers use Vaakya Panchang method to cast horoscopes and in my case even 2 planets differ in the Natal chart. The Jupiter transit always comes in early by a week or so and the Saturn transit happens almost 2 months later. In Drik based horoscope, Saturn moved to Sagittarius on Oct 26th where as per traditional Nadi based Vaakya panchang, it happened only during mid December. So all this causes major degree differences in planets placements making most of the divisional charts go for a major toss. Ive been told to use which suits my personality better but still different views tend to bring a lot of confusion.
