I am sorry if this question is already asked.. but I have one doubt.
I was very much devoted to lord shiva.. and at that time I was happy despite of bad situations.. now a days I am far from spirituality and facing some depression like issues..
My question is-
What is role of spirituality in our life and its effect on astrology?
Is devotion and our will have power to change whats is writtent in horoscope?
Or spirituality doesn't change what will happen with us (and horoscope events) only it will give mental peace?

Namaste- this is a complex subject.
Astrology(Jyotisha) itself is a Vedanga ( an adjunct to the Vedas), so it is inseparable from spirituality in the traditional context. Our horoscope reflects mainly our prarabhdha karma phala( which is scheduled to be expressed in this life), though it can also give other information. It does not say much about sanchita( accumulated karma) or about the ongoing karma.
About modification of Karma phala(results):
1. There is some karma phala which may be modified by our effort easily or with much effort..
2. There is other karma phala which may not be modified( astrology with show this if many indications are there pointing towards the same thing etc.)
3. Sanchita karma which is chosen to express itself now(unscheduled) may make things worse at the beginning of sadhana by being expressed. This depends on the path and upon the Guru's grace.
In all these cases, spiritual practices will give peace of mind, reduce suffering etc after a certain point. It depends on how much the old mental habits have been removed and a new outlook or consciousness brought in its stead.
The grace(krupa) of the divine has inestimable power and there is no formula to calculate or know when it will operate. There is no rule or ready reckoner to know when our spiritual practices or remedies will bear fruit either. This only makes it unpredictable- not unreliable.
In your case,since you are devoted to Shiva, please see if you can get initiation in to Panchakshari mahamantra from a proper person and chant it day and night with faith(in addition to chanting as per the requirements). Mental chanting does not need purity of body etc and the chanting of this mantra can grant anything.

Yes, your willpower is the only power that is changing what is written in your horoscope. You are in your present status because of your will power. Even astrologically speaking,5th house is for creative intelligence and it is in trine with your 9th house of luck/chance/fortune.
Nothing is free except God's Grace.
