I was told by a form member to write something about Saturn transiting in Sagittarius.
Well the thing is Saturn is karma and Sagittarius is the most dharmic sign (other signs are also dharmic in the sense that each sign represents a certain playground conducive to do certain things ie. fortuitous dharmic factors are brought together in one area of the chart).
Saturn is well placed in Sagittarius according to scriptures. Also karma is given less force when Saturn is in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the 12th to the sign of Capricorn which is the natural ruler of the 10th house of karma. So all round, there would be good cheer, joviality and people would be less likely to settle scores with one another.
Not likely there will be some sort of triggering events that will cause the normal path of life to take a turn for the worse. In other words Jupiter would reign supreme to ensure that the normal everyday life would go ticking under the auspices of the cosmic old grandfather clock rather than via the ticking time bomb.
There will be less disasters, less metorites falling onto Earth inadvertently, and since Sagittarius is the 11th sign (bhavat bhavam) to Aquarius, there will be prosperity too but the sign Aquarius of getting detailed knowledge and having all desires fulfilled would be less likely as Saturn placement in Sagittarius is eclipsing Aquarius, although the aforesaid mentioned activities are not completely eclipsed, because Saturn here ruler of Aquarius is going into Sagittarius ie. Aquarius is having some say on the matter. But note that Saturn is also making a forward sextile to Aquarius, so the constraint is also quite considerable. This would mean less orgies, less fun but people becoming more philosophical while pursuing their fortune.

But since Saturn is tamas, there is also some dilution of the purity of the sign of Sagittarius.
This would mean that although the karmic propensities of Saturn is not given full play by Jupiter, Jupiter has less energy to spend on other areas because of the need to deal with Saturn. But this is not a major factor because Saturn and Jupiter are neutral to each other and in Nadi Astrology, they are even great friends.
However, the modicum of effects of the above would be that, society would tend to put in all the stop gap measures to try to foresee any untoward happening for any event or activity. So more bureaucracy and more red-tape. But they are essentially harmless as befits the character of Jupiter.
Sagittarius represents men's highest aspirations in life which include going on pilgrimages, reading philosophy and giving benediction to others. Saturn is just the other way round. So all the above would be reduced, like for example, people would be more likely to travel for business, rather than to go on pilgrimages.
Saturn is rock but Jupiter is the one that creates the asteroid belt ie. it makes sure the asteroids do not come close to Earth and hit us. So all in all since Saturn is now under Jupiter's sign, calamities would be less likely, even if Jupiter's activities are rendered less intense or less pure.
