not sure about positions in houses

Hey all,
as in topic, i'm not sure about placement planets, and general method of finiding it. Should i take the degree and the "insert it" into chalit degree or nirayana bhava chalit degree? anyone wanting to help? I'm new to this stuff, so it's possible dat i'm asking about simple thing.
