What is more desirable in a chart? Is it High Shadbala or a low Shadbala for a functional malefic planet of the Lagna. Please answer this generally. My next question is specifically for Tula lagna.
For Tula Lagna, Sun is a Badhaka as he is11th lord. And if Shadbala has a high score of 172 for "percentage strength" in Jagannatha Hora for Sun. Is it good or is it bad. 172 is probably the highest Shadbala percentage strength score I have ever seen.
Also, for Tula lagna if Jupiter gets a score of 135 in shad aka percentage strength, which is also a high score. Is it better than to have a low score. Please enlighten me.

Hi, If person is Leo Ascendant, and Sun is in 10 house, can have high Shadbala, maybe even 200 or 220 percent. 172 is not the hghest score.
Someone told that Sun get direction strenght in 10th house, its called Digabala. That is why.
For Leos, Suns is the Lord of Ascendant, good planet and so very good results . Can give govt. job, high position, carier success. This is what I heard.

As told, I checked the Shadbala of Sun for Leo Lagna when Sun is in 10th house and the shadbala percentage strength is above 200. So what should I look at for checking the shad aka. Is that Shabaka percentage strength or Shabaka rupas or anything else? Please let me know.

whatever I read of classic texts, they seem to indicate that auspiciousness and strength are related. more strength means more auspicious which meas less malefic. But looking for more guidance on this matter. A high shadbala Mars will cause more violence, fights etc or a low one will ?

I too have question on similar lines. I am a Tula Lagna with Saturn being Yogakaraka but my Saturn maha dasha never passed good. I use parashara light and below are the figures. Saturn is at the end of the rashi at 26 degree in Leo. what's confusing is, whether Saturn really has strength to do good? Please give some inputs.

These shadbala concepts need to be discussed in great depth and no clear cut answers exist, I think as of now.
My shadbala is maximum for moon the 9th lord and also its astavarga is maximum but moon dasa was the one which was the most problematic. So there could be other reasons which need further discussions.
