Can you please elaborate on this?
Also the placement of UL from AL is to be checked in the Rasi Chart only or does it apply to navamsa UL and navamsa AL also? What is the difference?

Sir you have mentioned about 2nd to UL indicates the sustenance of the marriage.. and how benefics/malefics in it impact marital happiness..now are only natural malefics(mars, rahu, sat) to be considered wen we look at it? if UL(8H -aquarius) has no planet with just 4th aspect of mars..then what does presence of sun & venus in 2nd from UL(9H) indicate?

Arudha Lagna is a perspective of you as it is projected in a tangible form. Its an image or reflection of you. It is not the truth but not false either.

So in the same way UL is a projection or a manifestation of your marriage - it begins with the wedding.

AL when well placed from the lagna and/or conjuncted with strong benefic planets will usually result in native having a good positive image.

Now we related AL and UL.
When UL is ill placed from AL - this indicates that the UL (marriage/wedding/relationship) as a part of the AL (image) will suffer.
For example when UL is placed in 12th from AL; the native will be "perceived" to not care or not take care of his relationship, marriage and may choose to surrender/give it up.
For example when UL is placed in 6th or 8th from AL - some perception is about enmity or fighting or disturbances with his UL.

Again this is a perception based view - but it is NOT all false to be disregarded.

Check the relation of AL - UL in charts (in Rasi) where a native struggles in his marriage.

In the chart i am referring to, the native is separated from his wife for two years now and is on the verge of getting divorced..the surprising aspect is that this is happening after 18yrs of marriage..His moon in sagi..UL in capricorn(2nd house) and AL in aquarius(3rd) . thus UL is placed in 12th from AL..as you said..the marriage had many issues and eventually it is ending.. there will be other factors influencing also.. im sure.. I also noticed that in UL jupiter is debilition conjunct to saturn..

If time permits please go through this chart and give more insights...

So when you say 11th from AL signifies gains or increase of stature.. then if UL is 11th from AL and having benefics in it.. can we conclude tht the gains/benefits would also be post marriage?? or in this case it would be through spouse?

Thank you very much for your response..11th from AL will show increase in status with time but to some natives success comes after marriage..we can say that wife works as a luck factor for him..is there kind of yoga which shows increase of social status or triggering of the good results of the horoscopes after marriage ?

The navamsha chart in Jhora also calculates/indicates UL, Al etc of the navamsha chart itself. Are they also used for predictive purposes in marital affairs or not? and if so, can you please explain how?

the post where you wrote that for a supportive spouse one should have some relation between the seventh house and second house is very true this i have verified not only in my charts but in the charts of some others.what about second and seventh lord placed in eleventh house. will that also indicate a supportive kind of spouse.

I have a question regarding my current UL. My past 2 relationships added up quite well to the ULs in my chart however the current one does not add up. My boyfriend's lagna is Virgo yet the UL3 in my chart is Scorpio (with Rx Saturn in it). Its lord Mars is in Aries. There was initially some discrepancy on his birthtime so I had thought he had a Libra lagna (which had Saturn there) and this would then add up as Aries is opposite sign to Libra. But now his dad has confirmed the birth time and so his lagna turned out to be Virgo.

Just wondering in this case am I calculating this correctly and is this something I should be concerned about in terms of it not matching up? His UL2 matches mine very well as it's Capricorn with Jupiter posited in it -- my lagna is Cancer with Jupiter opposite to it in Capricorn. However, the one interesting thing both charts have in common is that Saturn is my 7th lord and Jupiter is his 7th lord and both ULs/lords are in 5th house.

If you could please see our charts and let me know if this is an issue or not I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Dear Lovacrs,

Glad that you brought up this point.

Here's what I have seen on this matter. Let's say husband and wife charts
The Rasi lagna of the wife will be in trines to the UL lord of the Husband and vice versa as well.

Simple rule very useful in rectifying charts if you need more confirmation points.

My daughter got married on 9th May 2015. My son in law went to USA. My daughter is working in India in a government organisation. She don't want to leave her job but wants to leave with her husband too. As my son in law was gone to USA for 1 year but as his project is extended for more than 1 year. My daughter is very disturb as her life is not going on track. Being a mother i am worried that my daughter will stay on her job or not.

With reference to what shrikantji has stated above that 12th from UL represents those who are away from or not available in the marriage...so if the lagna itself (ascendant) is placed 12th from UL in the rasi chart (I.e. the UL is in the second house of rasi chart) does it mean that the native himself is not interested in the spouse....additionally if in the same chart UL is 12th from AL, doesn't it fortify the fact that the native has no interest in his wife ...

At the same time, in the same chart if the UL Lord and A7 Lord are conjunct in 7th house, it could mean love affair materialising into marriage ..that's a paradox..
