If Mars/Mercury are in a different rashi but same nakshatra as Sun, are they conjunct with Sun or not?

planets in same rashi withing 5 degree also considered in conjunction
Planets in the same sign are conjunct. So even if they are a degree away from each other but in different signs then they are Not conjunct.
For combustion they can be in the same or different signs as combustion is a function of degrees strictly and conjunction is a function of sign.
So a planet can be combust + conjunct and combust but not conjunct. Planets in a previous or next sign to Sun leads to Vasi or Vesi yog respectively which I think is a function of luminosity/rays.
