I have a doubt. Sun and ketu are 20degrees apart and ketu is in the nakshatra of jupiter. Since sun and ketu are not in close conjunction, would this make my father agree for this proposal?

Planets are mere indication of what can possibly happen. If your Parents did not agree for past 3 years, there is every possibility they may never agree for this relation moving forward. Not all kids are fortunate to have blessings of their parents in marital matters, In such situations you always have free will to decide what is more important to you and make your future more bright.
You can have no better gift than blessings of your parents in your marriage and it is always best thing to get, but than in this process you may end up making some aweful decisions which may give you pain for the rest of the life.
If you have faith in yourself, you can win the world. If you are really confident for the Girl you love and want to marry, than leave astrology aside and marry her, your parents may accept your relation if they have strong feelings for you.
