Hi Learned Members

The following concepts would be discussed :

(1) A functional ruler of a maraka house 2nd or 7th, when placed in a dusthana, the maraka characteristics is reduced to a very great extent, although it may harm the house itself.

(2) 12th house placements always boost the natural signfication of a planet, even though the functional rulership of that planet may be weakened. This has been mentioned in bharvartha ratnakara and also discussed by other forum members since I quoted from this source.

(3) Aspects between planets or in one direction from a planet to another, when both are plaed in a dusthana means there is a link up betweeen the dusthanas not amounting to something like a dusthana ruler placed in another dusthana ie. vipareet raja yoga, BUT it means the native is able to harness the energies of the two dusthanas to a higher level, and in some ways this is a counteraction of the obstacles given by the dusthana. It is a form of raja yoga. If the said planets casting aspect or aspects only rules dusthanas, then it becomes an even higher raja yoga.

Pevious posts we have talked about planets debilitated in dusthanas, ruler of dusthanas are debilitated and aspects the Ascendant and when both these situations occuring a the same time, so we would not discuss these situations any further in this post. Note that what we did not mention is that if a functional ruler of a dusthana is debilitated and gets a neecha bhanga, this menas what was initially a gain, may eventually turn to be something which is storngly opposing the native.

And of course we have also discussed the various kinds of vipareet raja yoga also before and we will discuss these further.

Back to points (1) to (3) and refer to my chart.

Jupiter ruler of 6th goes to the 8th exalted, a kind of vipareet raja yoga but problems escalte because of the exalted placement, yet problems still under control. Jupiter rurler of the 9th gives luck and affluence in the area of handling difficulties.

Now Sun ruler of the 2nd goes to the 12th. It gives diffulties in matters related to the 2nd house, yet the natural significations of the Sun is strengthened, and 12th being 11th to the 2nd can give gains to the 2nd provided it does not adhere to the adage that "what comes easily, one need not save" - ie. 12th rules milking the cow and 2nd is savings. 12th rules parents' money too.

Jupiter from the 8th cast a trine to the Sun in the 12th. This shows spiritual upliftment and because 8th-12th are trines to each other, problems prolong, but the solving process is of a light touch.

Also the maraka effects of the Sun is reduced showing longevity of father although father may have many physical ailments.

Rahu dispositing the 8th and 12th houses sits in Cancer in the 1st shows overcoming of difficulties.

Yet, there is another concept on dusthanas which I want to bring it as an attention to readers.

Now BPHS says that the 2nd and 12th houses are neutral. Planets placed there and their lordship, primarily give results of the planets they associate with whether by placement or aspects or dispositorships.

Thus in my case Sun ruling the 2nd goes to the 12th aspected by Jupiter. So the Sun primarily imbibes the influence of Jupiter - some negativtiy due to the lordship of the 6th, but under control because of VPRY and Jupiter being the trinal lord as well. So not only the natural significations of the Sun undergoes a boost by being in the 12th, but even the functional lordship of the Sun of the 2nd the harm is curtailed by gaining Jupiter's beneficial aspect.

These two concepts on the 12th as a dusthana must always be borned in mind.

One other point of rectification.

In the case of a VERY, if the planet involved in the yoga is exalted, it makes the yoga stronger and NOT weaker. My mistake.

Take my Jupiter which is exalted in Aquarius and rules Sagittarius on the 6th house. Jupiter is in the 8th.

What this means is that two negatives, 6th and 8th combine STRONGLY, to make the VPRY stronger. Jupiter as the 9th lord also indirectly benefits in the process, notwithstanding the 9th lord placed in the 8th.

The last three posts of mine thus show I benefit greatly from my father notwithstanding the Sun, the natural significator of father is in the 12th, and Jupiter the functional ruler of the house of father the 9th, is in the 8th.

My next question is :

Are there some planets better in giving VPRY than others?

The obvious answer is Saturn because Saturn is the karaka of all the dusthanas save for the 3rd.

(Saturn is the main secondary karaka of the 6th although not the primary karaka. BPHS says Mars and Mercury are the main primary karakas of the 6th. Note that 6th is uppachaya and Mars and Mercury gives the requisite ACTIVE effort even though Saturn may rule actions. Also 6th being uppachaya means 6th can be quite a hefty load to start out with. Only with time it gets ameliorated).

But Saturn also stands for delays. Thus the VPRY that Saturn engenders takes a long time for things to turn around. But once it does, Saturn does a very good job of it.

(Note that all planets represents forms of Vishnu. Saturn is no exception even though it may classified as a demonic planet. The demons are also pious in that they worship the Gods, due to their past lives being Gods but it is just that they have taken life as a demon on earth for a special purpose. To understand certain epithets of life before they head back to heaven again after many re-births - the delay which I am talking about above).

Please note VPRY only exist when a planet ruling a negative house goes into another negative house. This is no exception for Saturn as well. Just that since Saturn is the karaka for the negative houses, half the batter is won when Saturn is placed in a negative house, even though Saturn may be ruling positive houses, notwithstanding Saturn gives delay.

Other variations of VPRY?

If placements by sign or conjunctions of a stellium of planets are bad, AND when all these occur in a Dusthana, good results may ensue too. But the prerequiste of at least one planet ruling a dusthana sitting a dusthana must still apply to qualify as a VPRY.

For example in George Washington's chart the Moon waning sits next to Rahu. Moon rules the 3rd, a dusthana. Moon and Rahu sits in the 8th. A strong VPRY is in effect supported also by the conjunction of two planets inimical to each other, and also by the malefic waning Moon (natural malefics on the wole give better VPRY results but let's not discount Jupiter either which is a strong benefic with a tinge of fiery element).

Take another example. Mercury and Venus sits in the 8th for a Pisces Ascendant. Venus in its own sign in the 8th gives a VPRY which may or may not give results (this was discussed in a previous post where I said planet in their own sign in dusthana, the VPRY is such that it may or may not protect the native, unlike the case when a planet ruling a dusthana goes to ANOTHER dusthana).

Here Mercury is ruling two cardinal houses going into a dusthana (trines and cardinals ruler going into a dusthana invariably weaken a VPRY especially here Mercury is suffering from kendapathi dosa). Plus the Venus VPRY is not the a sure fire thing as explained earlier. And Mercury and Venus are friends..................this VPRY is weaker than the one found in George Washington's chart.

Remember VPRY means tackling evil with evil and it must be evil on the spot like Moon+Rahu in the 8th in George Washington's case and the waning Moon, and not weakness brought on from outside like in the second case where Mercury suffering from kendrapathi dosa going into the 8th with Venus. The relationship of the planets in the Dusthana must also not be cordial (so Venus and Jupiter in a dusthana with at least one of them ruling a dusthana is actually quite good as each planet tries to impose its own dharmic solution, both planets being natural benefics, on the obstacles encountered in the dusthana).

Saturn in the 6th gives a menial position to the position just like Saturn conjunct Rahu.

But Saturn in the 6th is very good for obstacles removing since it aspects all the dusthanas.

Remember the earlier dictum in this thread - planets aspecting within the dusthana family of houses is a kind of VPRY.

If Saturn is not in the 6th in the birth chart, Saturn in transit in the 6th is superlative and the person can rise up easily during the period when Saturn is transitting in the 6th, provided the dasha periods do not contradict.

Same with Mars in the 6th, Mars in the 3rd and Saturn in the 3rd.

Mars in the 6th is linking up the 9th to the 1st. Mars also aspect the 12th - dusthana aspecting dusthana by a planet, any planets in the 6th-12th axis does that automatically. It would be stronger, these dusthana aspects, if both the 6th and 12th are tenated by planets at the same time.

Mars in the 3rd is linking up the 9th with the 10th - nothing to do with VPRY.

Saturn in the 3rd is a strong placement just like Saturn in the 9th (Bharvartha Ratnakara) - nothing to do with VPRY.

We have already went through the goodness of my father.

How about his influence over me?

For that we look at how Jupiter the functional ruler of the 9th of father and Sun the karaka of the father to see their impact on other planets. Mars as the lord of the 10th also stands for father and Mars as Yogakaraka in D-1 plus its high Vimshopaka Bala is well known in my chart, so I would not dwelve into that.

(BPHS actually credits BOTH 9th and 10th as representing father; but they are in different chapters of the compendium).

For the Sun :

I have a Leo Navamsa. And Sun sits squarely in the the D-12 Ascendant in Leo. Enough said.

Even the Sun is particpating in a great yoga in the Rasi Chart - this yoga which says natural benefics in the 2nd, 12th and 8th to Sun, Sun being the functional ruler of the 2nd. This Yoga is not only spiritual in anture.....it it actually an all encompassing yoga, exerting its influence on the individual in all spheres of his life.

For Jupiter :

Jupiter sits in Pisces in Navamsa just like Jupiter in Aqaurius is exalted in Rasi, both sitting in the 8th bhava. This gives rise to Bhavam Vargottam and what it actually strengthens is the Jupiter in the Rasi Chart and Jupiter represents the father in the Rasi Chart being the functional ruler of the 9th.

Jupiter hits at or being hit by all planets too if you look at the Rasi Chart and Navamsa together.

In the Rasi :

Saturn aspects Jupiter in Rasi from the 7th because of Saturn being retrogade, so it is as if it is casting its aspect from the 6th but actually it is from the 7th.

The 9th and 5th points of Jupiter are great auspeciousness especailly in my case Jupiter being the 9th lord.

5th to Jupiter sits the Sun. Jupiter also aspects Sun's house.

5th to Jupiter is ruled by Mercury and 9th to Jupiter is ruled by Venus (true for all Jupiter in Aquarius personnel). So Mercury and Venus also comes under the influence of Jupiter.

Jupiter sits in Rahu's sign. By virtue of that, Ketu also influneces Jupiter to some extent because Ketu is opposite Rahu. This shows that the nodes' influence always go in tandem.

In the Navamsa :

Jupiter aspects Moon and Jupiter aspects the Moon's house ie. the 12th.

Jupiter aspects Mars in its own sign in the 4th.

So all the planets are impacted by Jupiter.

And both Rasi and Navamsa, Jupiter is a trinal lord.

Now we come to the point : am I dictated to by my father? Not at all.

My Moon is the Atmakaraka is also my functional lord of the 1st. Both Moon and Sun are karakas of the self, but my Moon is stronger being the Atmakaraka and is angular sitting in a sign with the lord ruling it with it ie. Saturn.

Sun is only a Dhanakaraka, 7th in placing in ranking of the planets' cabinet in terms of temporal significators, but mutually supporting the Atmakaraka, the Moon.

Sun's influnece can only be termed as benign being participating in a great yoga as mentioned earlier.

Okay.......some minor modification on the neutrality of the 2nd and the 12th houses.

BPHS says these lords are neutral and NOT that placement of planets in these houses are neutral.

Also in practice, most charts show that the 12th lord is seldom neutral.

In my case nothing changes from what I have said before hand.

(1) Sun is the 2nd lord which is thus neutral (here it is the 2nd lord and not the 12th lord).

(2) Sun goes to the 12th which boost its natural signifcations as per Bharvartha Ratnakara which is a separate concept altogether.

(3) It gets a trine from Jupiter in the 8th. Jupiter has got a VPRY and aspect by Jupiter on the Sun both situated within dusthanas is a form of VPRY.

(4) The Sun also forms a powerful spiritual yoga as mentioned in the beginning of the thread.

(5) The Sun thus gets boosted too (besides Jupiter).

In my chart the 12th lord is Mercury which sits in the 11th and thus can be glossed over for any difficulties if the 12th lord does not deem to be so neutral.

So the cycle of wealth flowing through my chart is :

Venus aspects Jupiter 8th aspect, Jupiter aspects Mercury 4th aspect, Jupiter tries the Sun, Rahu disposits the Sun and Jupiter and conjuncts Venus, Venus disposits Mercury and Mars aspects both Venus and Rahu via the 4th aspect. Venus and Rahu sits on the 1st. Rahu also aspects the 5th and 9th. Also Jupiter and Sun each receives some kind of VPRY.

Quite good I would say on the whole the wealth cycle.

And of course Moon and Saturn cast a 7th aspect to Venus and Rahu from the 7th. Saturn as the 7th lord is an obstacle but it is digbala and in its own sign, Moon as Ascendant Lord would surely help the 1st house planets of Venus and Rahu.

Moon as AK would subjugate Saturn's PK.

But Saturn is a Yogi planet and Moon is Avayogi but also a backup yogi this last role being activated after middle age.

Mercury and Saturn is also in the 9th Nakshatra from the Janman Nakshatra which stands for "best friends" and is supposed to be very favourable. This is in the Rasi Chart.

Look at the Navamsa.

Sun, Mars and Jupiter - all the trinal lords - aspect Mercury+Saturn in the 11th with Mercury in its own sign. This is as good as it can get (Jupiter here we are talking about the 4th aspect - a Mars aspect - which gives 75% effect as explained earlier in this thread).

Note also the D45.

Although the Rasi Chart D-1 can be considered to get the lion's share (a very big lion) to the overall analysis of the fate and fortune of an individual as compared to the divisional charts, two caveats to note :

(1) Special issues, ESPECIALLY for tie breakers, one can look at the corresponding divisional chart.

(2) D45 which is (45 = 5 x 9) needs to be referenced because it dictates the final outcome of things, the two trines 5th and 9th has special affinity to the D45. All Rasi Charts dictate the outcome of things as compared to the Bhavat Chalit charts which dictate thr process of things (remember the distinction between Parasara and Nadi Astrology all over again), the D45 is the queen of the all the Rasi Charts in having to say the outcome of things (the other chart which also dictates outcome of things is the D-11).

So a cursory look at the D45 would do no harm. Parasara has dictated the D45 as a chart which can be used to see all aspects of life, just like D60.

Interesting to note that since Jupiter is the greatest benefic of all and is exalted in my chart and it gets a strong VPRY, technically speaking it should give very good functional results of the 8th since it is sitting there.

8th is the resources of your mate.

Also retrogading Saturn is aspecting TOWARDS Jupiter and Saturn is the functional ruler of the mate. So is Venus, the natural karaka of the mate which is aspecting TOWARDS Jupiter.

So the mate would give me riches!!!!!!!! It was prognosticated by a Chinese fortune teller as well.

Let's see how the Dusthana effects get cancelled in my Navamsa chart.

Jupiter in the 8th in its own sign gives strong 8th house effects so may not be a VPRY. Sometimes iw works, sometimes it does not. In comes the Moon who rules the 12th and has a mutual aspect with Jupiter. Both Dusthana rulers effectively cancel each other Dusthana effects out (negativity is like a cycle, two -ves become +ve which is not the same as two +ves).

Saturn, the other Dusthana ruler of the 6th has gone to the 11th so no issue here.

Similarly Jupiter cast an 8th house aspect on Venus who is in Libra in the 3rd, a minor Dusthana, so Venus Dusthana effects also get cancelled out.

Dear Khoo,

For a Taurus Asc., Mars posited in 5th house Virgo is casting aspect on 8th house Saggi where Jupiter, Sun and Mercury are posited and Jupiter alone is casting aspect on 12th house Aries ruled by Mars. So is there a cancellation of Dushtana effect between 8th and 12th house?
Also, Saturn and Venus posited in 6th House Libra where exalted Saturn is casting aspect on 8th house Jupiter, Sun and Mercury. And both Saturn and Venus casting aspect on 12th house. Both Jupiter and Venus are FM for Taurus Asc. Is there a cancellation of Dushtana houses 6th /8th or 12th?

I remember you saying you blocked my messages, but anyway....

Jupiter's not exalted in your chart, it's in Aquarius.
There's no classic or even any astrologer really saying it's exalted there and not cancer, you may have found some article from some astrologer online who said it's power is akin to exaltation, but likely they just meant it does very well there.
If anyone can make a theory that a planet is exalted in some new sign where it previously was never said to be actually exalted, well, then I think Moon gets exalted in Pisces too, since the traits it gets there fit it very nicely. etc.

But man, you keep writing about how great your chart is in every way, yes we get it you have a flawless chart. Everything bad is cancelled, etc.
How would you like it if someone else started to talk about their chart that way too? Probably wouldn't like it very much at all and you'd start picking out how they're positives aren't actually as good as yours.

But go ahead and masterbate your ego with your chart all you want.
Even though nobody asked....
I mean it'd be okay if someone replied asking if you could please post an example / or explain how a concept worked in your chart.
Though using your chart doesn't help...we don't know you, and no offense but for all we know you're just delusional and are unaware of just how great you truly are...or aren't. No way to tell.
(not personal, as this goes for anyone. If I did the same people have every right to call me out on things if I wrote something like you did in the past : "People look up to me at work, I have great learning ability and leadership skills"
it's a "uh..okay, let us ask those people at your work if that's true or not).

But then we come to these concepts written in the thread here (and other threads), reading varga charts as though they overpower everything in your rasi.
Posting things in the past like saying ' I have saraswati in some D chart(forgot which...but wasn't navamsa) which basically means I have full effects of this yoga..etc.."
C'mon, if this style was true everyone would have almost every yoga if we looked hard enough for it.

Using so many techniques among all D-charts (especially getting into 45+..where now ayanamsa is an issue) just seems ridiculous.
Give me any chart from any member on this forum and I can go through their D charts using your style here and fake-explain why everyone should be talented and successful in all areas of life.

And really? Going on about the goodness of your father ..who asked? It just seems like needless boasting.
I'm sure many on this forum could post the greatness of their fathers too.

And you rarely reply to anyone's questions... posts just look like a crazy person on a soapbox proclaiming how great he is. While the rest of us just walk by rolling our eyes.

Aaaaaaand now I officially go on your "people to kill" list, I know. (joke).

GNE ji,

I think JUP in Khancer is big-bang exalted, and not just exalted. In Aqkhoorius dark energy comes into play and so we have big-bang exalted JUP on steroids. Then in D45 Galilio Galilei aspects JUP resulting in fall of APPLE(AAPL) stock (because observation i.e aspect changes end result in double slit experiment) which further results in discovery of Gravity by Newton. So when we think of it this way, it will make a lot of sense  .

But then we are not at that level.
