Jupiter Transits to Leo on 14th July:
--The movement of Jup from one house to the next is a major transit..it's a heavy weight second only to shani and perhaps at par with or more in impact than Rahu...who are the other heavy weights of Transits
-- The transit of Jup will impact in 2 ways:
1) as a natural benefic and gift-giver he will protect / shield the hosues that he sits in and aspects ( 5,7,9 aspects)...and also shower blessings / gifts on those houses...ie saggi, Aquarius and Aries
how strongly he can protect and shower gifts will depend on how strong he is in the natal chart.....blazing 100% if exalted to maybe 5 to 10% if he is debilitated.
and also how strong he is in the dasavarga in terms of amsabala.
2) and the houses that are under the dual drishti of shani and Jup...get activated ie. like standout and the yogas contained in those houses( good and both) are dispensed in an exaggerated way...for example like it happens during an AD...but in my view even more intensely than an AD.
and Leo will be the hosue that will be the activated one during the next 12 months starting from 14th July.

If my calculation is right, Jupiter last entered LEO mid-2002 and exited July 2003 or thereabouts. Is this correct? Since he spends 13 months in each sign, 11 signs x 13 = 143 months (almost 12 years before reentering that sign)
But isn't it also true per what you and other LOVA astrologers have said, that the operating dasha is more important, i.e. the Mahadasha in effect and the planet ruling that MD? Would you agree that even the transit of a benefic like Jupiter will NOT over-ride the operating dasha effects? any exceptions to this?
In the context of Subroto Roy horoscope you posted in another thread, I also wanted to ask about repeating patterns in the stars... are certain years/time-frames good/bad? For e.g. its said that Jupiter-Saturn conjunction takes place in the sky every 20 years... 1940, 1960, 1980, 2000 and so on. Can this be practically observed in ALL the horoscopes of persons born in those years? Any exceptions? I'll also ask my query in that thread, with some of my observations.

How will Jupiters transit through Leo be for someone with Moon in Aquarius? My natal horoscope has Aries rising, Sun in 5th/Leo....so Jupiter will be aspecting Chandra lagna (11th house), natal lagna, 5th house and 9th house.
The only bad thing for me is Jupiter is retrograde in Capricorn 10th house (but in Pushkaramsa). I should only expect 5-10% of the good results for this transit from what you've said...I was hoping it would be good because the transit of Jupiter through Cancer hasn't been all that great for me (but nothing terrible). How does the Ashtakavarga score of Jupiter come into play? In Cancer my Jupiter has a 4 but in Leo it has a 7 (the highest score of any sign for me for Jupiter).

Glad to see this thread! For a Taurus Ascendant and Leo Moon Sign where moon is in 4th house Leo of natal chart and Jupiter transit to my 4th house and aspecting 8th H, 10th H and 12th H will be? Also it is receving Drishti from Saturn in Scorpio in my 7th H. Can someone please tell how all this will affect from july 2015-July 2016?

so natives should look back to a the period Jul-2003 to Jul2004.....for what happened then in their lives
2) MD/AD are obviously important and they run their own affect.
and transits runs their own affects.
a native feelas simultaneous affects of both .
the nativaes with weak chant especailly weak lagna house and lords are swayed more by the transits.

That's worrying. Looking back I had lost my Job and was without a job for a year between June - July 2003-2004. I had finally got a job in June 2004. During that one year that I was jobless I speculated in the stock market and lost a lot of my savings. Am i going to lose my job? Things have been difficult at work most of May and June. Too many politics and obstacles with no success. I was hoping it would get better with jupiter's transit

Thanks TKC-jee and Shilpa-jee for confirming about the 20-year conjunction. So Jupiter and Saturn cross each others paths very regularly it appears, with Saturn traversing 8 houses during that time while Jupiter going thru 20 at a rate of one per year. Beautiful math!
Libran, I think it depends on how your Jupiter is placed in the chart. If it is in an enemy sign, debilitated, bad aspects etc... you know, the usual stuff... then the upcoming transit may not be beneficial for you.

On closer examination, you have Lagnesh Saturn in its own house, that itself is a Shasha Yoga. You also have 4th and 5th lords combining with 7th and 9th in the 9th... I think your Rahu is one of the best placements in the 3rd within 5 degrees of MEP.
You should be able to co-relate major events in your life with the dashas that you've completed - in fact, you're already done with 3 of the longest - Jupiter (12+ out of 16), Saturn (19) and Mercury (17) years. And the natural malefics Mars and Saturn should be able to neutralize each others negative influences largely being in direct opposition along your 1-7 axis.
BTW there is a discussion on here somewhere about Ketu MD, which if I'm not mistaken you're running right now. You may want to read it.

12 years back my Saturn in gemini was not causing sadesati or panoti. Right now my Saturn is causing Small Panoti - Kantaka Shani in 7th House while Jupiter will be transiting my 4th House in Leo. And Saturn will have its Drishti on Jupiter. How will all this affect? Dob: 12-24-83, TOB: 16:20, Lat: 21:46 N, Long: 72:11.

I clearly remember the period of Jul 2003-Jul 2004.
Lot of STRONG positive and negative events happened that time.
I was abroad that time in my first job.
Prior to that, these were lots of tensions due to office politics and a psycho boss.
But since the onset of the transit that time, in June 2003, my work started getting appreciated despite of the visible dis-appreciation of my enemies at work.
I got my very first promotion in early July 2003.
But then, since mid-September 2003, the boss got back to his villainous attitude ..so much so that I had to resign in Oct 2003 and come back to India.
I did get some job in Jan 2004 but I was not satisfied. I finally got a new steady job in July-Aug 2004.
Roller coaster times that 1 year.
I would appreciate any predictions on how this upcoming Jupiter transit might be for me..please..thanks.

Even though the Ju transit through cancer was great for me I am expecting great period coming 13 months esp. when Rahu joins Ju in Feb 2016.

Dear Shilpa - you have addressed a question I had been struggling with for a long time i.e. who is impacted more by Transits vs Dashas. I know I have a weak moon -its in 6th house, owned by its enemy Shani. In fact, in my Shadbala, Moon and Shani (Rasi Lord, for my Rasi Makara) are the weakest planets. However, I do believe both my Lagna (Simha) and Lagna Lord (Sun) are fairly strong with Sun being the strongest in Shadbala.
Could therefore another instance when natives feel a significant impact of Transits be because of Weak Moon or Weak Rasi Lord?

Suddenly expecting guests from foreign landing on July 15th and many other relatives get together in July. I am expecting a house sell off and another property sell off this year as we have started to get positive response already! Aspecting 8th house with 6 Ashtak points, I saw gains through my in-laws already and more to come. I had never expected that but it was sudden.
Somehow my Functional Malefic Jupiter has not turned out to be as Malefic because of its degree 00:36 as it does not have full capability to show its malaficience. (Please correct me if I am wrong). When I look back at my Jupiter transit in 3rd house And also Jupiter Antars, it has been mixed to good periods. I am still not sure how aspect on 10th house with 6 Ashtak will turn out. And apsect on 12th House with 3 Ashtak - I might see more expense, health issues and maybe some spiritual enlightenment. I just wanted to share my experience of Jupiter transit here. If this is the only factor operating then most folks, indeed everyone, should have similar to identical events and mental propensities at roughly 12 year intervals in life and by extrapolation of that assumption perhaps every 29.5 to 30 years and 18 years due to Saturn and nodes respectively.
