What effect would happen to the people of earth if let us say:

1) moon no longer exist
2) moon becomes a planet like mars\earth and orbits sun

I was wondering what would happen if moon did not orbit earth. Will we have rahu and ketu?

What would suddenly happen to those people who have kaal sarpa yoga\sarpa yoga and sarpa shraap( I have all three)?

I want to know the positive effects like no violence,no fear, people living in harmony,no full moon wearwolf crime etc

In astrology, Sun is "karaka" of a person, his/her soul, your overall entity and being. Sun also represents father. Why? Because everything in the Solar system is derived from the Sun - remember Big Bang theory? All the planets are in fact sons of our Sun, so always worship the Sun first, everyone else later. Sun is not only the ONLY source of energy that we have, but creates and sustains all life as we know it.

Conversely, though Moon is born of the Earth (due to an asteroid impact, so the theory goes) it is Karaka of the mind, mother and your inner self. It represents your passions, desires, etc...if you got any. So dude, if there was no Moon, you'd become a mind-less person, the most obvious and important effect!! plus you'd no longer worry about anything, as you'd never mind it anyways. No matter what, never mind, right... ?! See, I'm slowly but surely becoming an subject 'matter' expert in astrology...

Practically speaking, tides would cease to form, menstrual cycles of females would stop (no more reproduction), there'd be no mood swings, just constant good, bad, or horrible mood...!! and all the crazies in Washington DC would suddenly be alright...

Sorry but I just couldn't resist responding... :D I too have thought what would happen if Mars and Saturn were (made) to disappear , how would our lives change...?! Sigh...

Guess what? To get rid of Raju/Ketu, you WOULD actually need to get rid of Saturn and Mars, as they're supposed to be the shadow planets of those two... so it all works out quite well, yeah.

And one more practical impact would be that all astrologers in the world would need to be re-certified. They'd have to study their courses and take their tests all over again. You would have only a PANCH-graha system made up of Jupiter, Venus, mercury, the Sun and Moon. Wouldn't that be just swell

Well rahu\ketu act like mars and Saturn but they are formed dur to moon.

I cannot post the link as videos from youtube is not allowed but search for the title :regression of lunar nodes". The nodes of the moon is rahu and ketu.

About moon formation theory. There are some old manuscripts that say the moon did not exist 12,000 years ago and the abrupt ending of the ice age and previous civ like RAma,dwarka, atlantis etc was due to a great flood which was caused by the moon being made an satellite of earth. I will not say more. Search it.

So what real effect would happen to people on earth without rahu and ketu if let us say moon no longer orbits earth?

Secondly in charts\ascendents where moon is the lord, will the sun take over? eg cancer ascendent lord is the sun? and let us say yes what would happen to a person whos eight lord sun is in ascendent @ 29 degrees (capricorn ascendent)? Will it give the same energies as a cancer ascendent saturn who is 7,8 lord when placed in ascendent (1st house?)

IN nakshatra lord will, rahu ketu moon lords become saturn\mars\sun?

Entire mahadasha system changes including vimshootri dasha!.

Will rashi system be ascendent or sun?
wIll nakshatra owner becomes ascendent or sun?

Please discuss. Let us make this a very interesting topic!!!

I want to comment on the point about Sun being the father of the planets and therefore should be worshipped first.

Actually according to classics, we worship Jupiter first, before we get out of bed ie. before our feet touch the floor. From sleep which is a semi-conscious state of us, we awake to life so we thank Jupiter first and foremost, because Jupiter governs life. It also shows that quite possibly, the early life actually are floating in air, their feet has not touched the ground (Earth at that time was not formed yet).

After which we worship Ketu or Ganesha (actually the planets are just representations of the Gods, they are similar unlike what one forum member has professed that they are different). Ganesha has been accorded the function that all worshippers who want their wishes fulfilled must worship him first. This function has been given to him by his father Lord Shiva, who represents the Sun.

Then we worship Vishnu/Shiva depending on whethe our aim of life is to attain excellence in our behaviour (Vishnu which is Mercury) or to rule a kingdom benevolently which ncludes making appropriate compromises in behaviour (Shiva which is the Sun).

Then only then we worship Lakshmi and the rest of the other Gods.

The planets' strength is governed by Mother Earth, Devi which nurtures them and provides the Shakti without which Purusha, Shiva, would be impotent and void. Devi is synonymous with the Moon. So if you want overall strength of the planets, it is more appropriate to worship the Moon rather than the Sun (remember after the Ascendant, the Moon comes next in importance for taking as the point for the Lagna). (You can literally go through Devi's prayer which also hints to her function of maintaining the galaxy and constellations).

And let's not forget King Prithu and Mother Earth, the latter who turns into a milk producing cow. Mother Earth nurtures all the Gods helping them to grow - and the planets are nothing more than the manifestion of each God as is represented in the Vedic chart.
