Hi Learned Members
In this thread let's document more clearly what it means for a ruler of a bhava to go to another bhava, the latter bhava of which is in a relative position from the former bhava.
We all know about this, but this thread would serve to crystallize our thoughts.
*************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of a bhava goes to the 9th from it, it means that bhava's fortune is upped.
Say the lord of the 11th goes to the 7th, the ability to get gains is increased because this configuration means the native has a good relationship with the world. Or the lord of the 3rd goes to the 11th, this means minimal effort put forth give big gains. Or the lord of the 2nd goes to the 10th, this means the person knows just what to say and how to dress and how to carry himself, in order to achieve the greatest impact on his status.
***************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of a bhava goes to the bhavat bavam of it, it means the bhava's affairs spiral and one goes into deeper involvement in that bhava. Positive outcomes usually result because even in the case of a Dusthana, two negatives give one positive.
Say the lord of the 8th goes to the 3rd (8th of the 8th), the person using Yoga (3rd) achieves great spiritual fortitude (8th). Outcome is positive as two negatives make one positive. Or the lord of the 9th goes to the 5th (9th of the 9th), the person's fortune never ebbs. Fortunes just pile on him. Or the lord of the 7th goes to the 1st (7th of the 7th), progress in the world just goes on, enhancing the status of the person along the way. The person is also obsessed with establishing a one-to-one relationship with others.
**************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of the bhava goes to the 11th of it, the person gains easily the affairs of the bhava. But he loses the essence of this original bhava. If he is just satisfied with the gains, that is good. But it may not be rewarding for some people.
The most obvious example is for the Lagnesha to go into the 11th bhava. While the person can achieve monetary gains easily, the person loses touch of what it means to be a person, to be balanced between spiritual wants and material needs. Or say if the 9th lord goes to the 7th. You can easily get a soul mate. But with so many mates, are they all your soul mates? I doubt it. Or say if the 11th lord goes to the 9th. Many sources of gains but are they something that is your real want. You may be LOSING (not just cannot see) THE WOOD FOR THE TREES.
*************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of the bhava goes to the 10th of it, the person feels larger than life for the affairs of that bhava. The question of doubt never crosses his mind.
For example like Meryl Streep her lagnesha goes to the 10th. She is so used to people paying attention everytime when she walks into her room that her only qualm when going for any reception is to project a good impression on the public eye. She never really care whom she may happen to meet in the reception. Or the 3rd lord goes to the 12th. There is no need for effort, courage or preparation. The person is so transcendant in his ways that while others may use prowess, he uses the power behind the throne. Or the 4th lord goes to the 1st, the person has such a strong personality that he has no core personality. Everything depends on what he thinks is the appropriate personality at the moment (for this case Mars is bad but for Venus it is very good).
***************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of the bhava goes to the 8th of it, the person feels the affairs of this bhava lies buried deep within him. In order to excavate it out, it takes some effort.
Again look at the 8th lord going to the 3rd which is 8th from the 8th. Although this is a bhavat bhavam combination as explained earlier, this combination also shows in order to achieve inner spirituality, the person has to go through tremendous Yoga (the 3rd) to achieve the required benefits. Or the the 10th lord goes to the 5th. Achievements can be made (the 10th) but only if the person turns his hobbies and intelligence (the 5th) into a specific goal and effort that would contribute to society. Or the 2nd lord goes to the 9th. The person has fortune everywhere. But he needs effort to get them near at hand like fortune through family members or spending money.
**************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of the bahva goes to the 6th of it, the latter bhava ie. the 6th of the original bhava in question, represents the natural and inevitable expansion of the original bhava. The expansion is so fast that it is good if the original bhava is one that is a good bhava like the 5th or 9th. But if the original bhava is a Dusthana, the bad effects are multiplied and flowered accordingly too (but the 6th bhava is an exception - it expands into the 11th).
Say the 8th lord goes into the 1st. The person has to suffer a lot of calamities in life. More than the average person. What is hidden (the 8th) has become an everyday affair (the 1st). Or the 10th lord goes to the 3rd. Whatever the individual's aspirations or goals, he straight away start making his plans to achieve it (the 3rd). Or the 11th lord goes to the 4th. Any monetary gains the native has, he splurge it on his house, vehicles or other fixed assets, all being a show of his opulence.

If the ruler of a bhava goes to the 12th from it, the person frequently has a peculiar definition in relation to the affairs of that bhava. He may not think like a normal person does on the affairs of that bhava (remember 12th rules asylums, insanity but also out of the box thinking but is just closed up since 6th (expansion) of the 12th is the 5th which is the house of creativity).
Say the 9th lord goes to the 8th. The person has a peculiar definition of fortune. To him fortune is inner spiritual quest rather than external beneficence. Or the 11th lord goes to the 10th. The person feels great gains and satisfaction by contributing towards society or see a job well done. Monetary gains to the person play a minor important role. Or the 2nd lord goes to the Lagna. The person feels family members just show your roots but the journey of life should be ultimately taken by oneself.
****************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of a bhava goes to the 3rd from it, the person makes overtures in relation to the affairs of that bhava which puts him in good stead for the affairs of that bhava.
Say the 3rd lord goes to the 5th. Everytime the person writes, the literary work becomes an authorship of impeccable status. Or the 7th lord goes to the 9th. This person likes to make overtures to his mate and transform the relationship into one that is at the soul mate level. Or the 2nd lord goes to the 4th. This person would always live with his family members so they become like a kind of "fixed assets" to him with the associated pluses (gains) and minuses (losses) in the profit and loss statement.
****************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of a bhava goes to the 2nd from it, the person supports the affairs of that bhava with various paraphernalia. This word can be used in a figurative or literal sense. Usually the person gets lost in the mire of the paraphernalia but most of the time it is good (don't forget 2nd can be a maraka sometimes).
Say the Lagnesha goes to the 2nd, the person likes to surround himself with his personal accoutrements and items. They give him the sense of comfort and security in life. The 9th lord going to the 10th. Achievements in society give the person a sense of being fortunate in that he has actually passed on his beneficence to others. Or the 5th lord goes to the 6th. The person likes to test out his intelligence in his personal battle with others.
****************************************************************************************************************************
If the ruler of a bhava goes to the 7th from it, this can be challenging because the person is always doing the opposite thing or action that is required to fulfill the affairs of the bhava in question. But since the lord is here aspecting back onto the bhava, fulfillment is still possible. It is just that the person does it in a roudabout way.
Say the Lagnesha goes to the 7th, the person is very partial to others. To achieve his personal goals, he needs others to sound him out that he is doing the right thing. Or the 9th lord goes to the 3rd. The person does not believe in leaps of faith in doing anything. Everything along the way he needs to scrutinize first and then he will call that a leap of faith but after the proper research is done. Or the 11th lord goes the 5th. While discussing in groups, the person makes reference to his own self-knowledge to see how this can go well with the group in question. The person is never truly immersed in the ideas of the group of which he is part.

Can you elaborate more on this? You mean to say the person becomes obsessed with the significations of that bhava that he doesnt care about the consequences?Khoo Hock Leong wrote:Hi Learned Members

This post is extremely useful and interesting .Gives a deeper understanding about the planet's placement from where it rules. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.
Great, I've been looking for a write-up on this topic for a long time. Thanks!
One question, if you can answer then much appreciated, is in regards to the lord of a house moving 11th from it... what if 10th lord moves into the 8th? The person gains in regards to career or power? or..?
It seems 10 in 8, when looking at it from bhavat bhavam is actually quite good, and not the horrible position most websites make it sound. (of course depends on dignity / other yogas,etc.. I know. But just talking in general).
What is it the person looses sight of with the 10th bhava ("the wood for the trees") ?

If the ruler of the bhava goes to the 4th from it, the person is very much concerned with the essence of the bhava. He expects high quality to emanate from all the interactions of the affairs that come under this bhava. Otherwise he would not get involved.
Say the ruler of the 1st goes to the 4th. He would not associate with people whom he find superficial. Or if the ruler of the 10th bhava goes to the 1st. This person analyzes his personality minutely so as to give the greatest impact. This is just the opposite of the 1st lord going to the 10th earlier where the person thinks BIG so as to give the best impression. Or the ruler of the 8th bhava goes to the 11th. This person will go through hell and fire to obtain gains via unconventional means.
