Jupiter Does Better in Sagittarius Than Cancer : AstroSonu

AstroSonu an old forum member who left this forum said that Jupiter is the only planet who does better in its moolatrikona sign Sagittarius than its exaltation sign Cancer.

I think he is right after all. Here are my reasons in how I analyze it.

(1) Bhavartha Ratnakara (BR) said that for a Cancer Ascendant Jupiter causes no yoga but Mercury is fruitful. But here the Lagna is an exaltation place for Cancer so how can Jupiter cause no yoga even though it is a fuctional benefic? The only reason is that Jupiter in Cancer cannot beat Jupiter in Sagittarius.

But note that Jupiter in 8th bhava for a Cancer Ascendant is very auspicious as it is ruling the 9th and this is also according to BV and which I also explained earlier why.

(2) Jupiter tends to be biased towards ostentation and display. As such it is more at home in Sagittarius than Cancer.

Cancer is 8th from Sagittarius (Jupiter's moolatrikona sign) meaning searching for inner meaning. Sagittarius is more kenn on things like culture or observing outer trappings of the religious practices they adhere to. This Jupiter is more at home in Sagittarius than Cancer.

Thus the reasons.

Sir, The B.R [B.V Raman]says Jupiter alone will not give a special yoga as in case of Mercury in Capricorn Lagna, but Jupiter with Moon in Lagna is Rajyoga as per B.R. For example the chart of former prime minster V.P Singh. Jupiter in Lagna[Cancer]. Another translation {by J. Bhasin] says Jupiter is not making the Dhan[Money] Yoga for Cancer Lagna as Mercury produces for Capricorn Lagna. regards.

Ah I see. Alternative translation.

Ok. Moon with Jupiter in Cancer Lagna gives a yoga. I can incorporate this principle.

Nevertheless for the Mercury part , I am Cancer Lagna but Mercury seems to be fruitful. I don' think it is due to the placement of my Mercury in 11th bhava that is causing the fruitfulness because I am not receiving any income for it so far.

One reason why Mercury is fruitful for a Cancer Lagna is that Virgo the Moolatrikona and Exalted sign of Mercury is overlaying on the 3rd Bhava, Mercury's natural lotdship.

Sir, B.R has not suggested anywhere that Mercury is auspicious for Cancer Lagna. regards

You know sometimes the people doing the editing like B V Raman thinks the original classic has an error, so they just edit off the point. Most of the astrologers of the late 20th century onwards are quite bound to conventional astrological beliefs they hold and they fail to realize Bharvartha Ratnakara is NOT a conventional astrological book.

thanks for the recollection. i have really not seen much of exalted jupiter giving results as much as other planets.
